Friends, woke up on my first day in Manhattan!! Walked across the street from our hotel, freezing cold with little Christmas snow flurries in the air!! Made a quick stop at the this CUTE little corner deli!!! And friends, let me tell you, I am sooooo happy I did!! I had a New York bacon egg and cheese babel that was made to order and hit the SPOT!! The coffee, piping hot and fresh! The service, fast and efficient, and nice. I will be coming here often for my next week in the city!!! Grade A+

Five stars for Cascade Cafe in Midtown. Christmas morning, place was humming staff on point, smiles everywhere, line moved like butter. Got an egg and bacon croissant; crisp on the outside, packed with fluffy scrambled eggs, big strips of bacon $9 and change with coffee. Coffee was strong, smooth, kept me going. Kitchen's open so you see everything flying off the grill. Vibe's warm. Fast, friendly, perfect before a walk through the park. Go, I walked a few more blocks because they have had the same owner forever and serve their community well.

NYC cafes are a dime a dozen, but my preference are the classic cafes that offer traditional American breakfasts, sandwiches, and comfort food. This cafe has never changed ownership, it remains consistent in the good food they offer and a higher level of customer service they deliver. If your like me, looking to fill your belly with good food while getting the best bang for your buck, this is a solid place to get it. Cheers!

Came here for a quick breakfast after running around Central Park. Lots of seating with a big diverse menu, however, food was just ok. I had some Cuban panini and some italiano panini but found both just ok. The italiano's chicken felt quite dry, and the Cuban was a little bland. The best part of the meal might have been the barbecue chips

Ok I've dropped in a few times when I'm under the gun and have to get something fast. Food, Service and value is 4 stars. There are vegan options too. I drop in for breakfast or lunch sometimes and when you need something quick it's a good choice as they are open most hours. It's a small place but fairly clean so give it a try!

Cascade has great tasting coffee in small and large sizes. They offer many grab & go snacks, hot breakfast, smoothies, acai bowls, pastries, desserts, and a huge selection of bottled drinks. Service was fast and friendly, and our egg & cheese bagel and veggie wrap came out really quickly. There are about 5 tables with 2 chairs each plus window counter seating. A nice place to stop for a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack on the go.

I was waiting for a friend who had already eaten. I had not and we were going to a play shortly. I stopped in at the Cascade Cafe and told her to meet me there. I looked over what was available. They have a salad area, they make fresh sandwiches, paninis are available along with snacks, candy and a wide drink selection. I opted to get an italian panini and a bottled water. It is very clean place, a corner unit and open for 24 hours. There are several tables as well as counter seating along the window for people watching. My food was ready quickly and I opted to sit at one of the tables. The snacks are somewhat overpriced [It is NYC] but the other dining options are on par with the area. It was quick and convenient and I would recommend, especially if you want something quick, hot and don't want a restaurant type meal.

One of the BEST bacon and and cheese croissants I have ever had!

Great find when staying down the block at the Hotel Ameritania! It is open 24/7 and has good food at reasonable prices. I was in there at least once a day, whether to grab a quick breakfast, a drink and snacks for the day, or a late night snack to take back to the room. Wonderful local NYC business with a very friendly and efficient staff. And very clean, too!

I got a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll! It was sooo good: gooey american cheese, salty crunchy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs on a soft roll. And a poland spring water of course....

I was trying to recreate my favorite Westchester deli experiences in Manhattan but the service was hostile and subpar. My Turkey sandwich with provolone and Swiss with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions salt and pepper and Chipotle Mayo on a toasted buttered bagel was delicious Usually the sandwich makers are the friendliest staff members but this one was rushed and impatient with me - quite offensive. The lady at the register was short in speech and cold. The wifi was a LinkNYC wifi

It's a convenient store type of sandwich shop that's near my apartment. First time visit experience: The front door is kind broken that you need to pull really hard to open. I tried but the door is still locked. Enter from the side entrance is a lot better. Variety of snacks, sandwich, drink to choose from. Snacks are over priced so I don't recommend. Selected of sandwich options to choose from. I recommend chicken sandwich. It's a refreshing meal for a busy day.

Bacon egg and cheese on a roll
    Sabrina P.

I got the bacon egg and cheese on a roll. I personally thought it wasn't the best quality bread, tasted a bit stale, and it tasted like any other breakfast sandwich around this area. I would only come back out of the convenience factor in that it's right on 9th Ave in a very good location on the corner. There's ample seating area, but I've only gotten food on the go here. My second or third time to come here. Tip: If you ever order after 11 am on a weekend, they add $1 to your item! Something to be aware of that isn't made very obvious until you pay at checkout.

Great place for quick & hearty breakfasts before walking/ exploring the streets of NYC. Enjoyable for the family and lots of options! Our son loved the light and fluffy pancakes! Coffee was good too!

I was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find out they had a location in New York City, so I obviously had to give it a try. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

The menu inside breaks down all of the sandwhiches, you roll up to the deli counter when they say next, spill out your order (add/remove stuff to your order) and you're done. The most overwhelming thing is deciphering the Italian sandwhich menu. I hit up the Italian Hot. Pretty decent! I added sun dried tomatoes...but it would have been just as good without it. Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.

Small space inside but you don't need much space to make bussin sandwiches. Walking or public transportation is preferred. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here after a long day doing booth duty at a summit and was starving from not eating the entire day. Fortunatley the place was pretty quiet since it was 2pm and I got my orders in. For sandwiches, I ended up getting the Favolosa and the Italiana. The favolosa had a delicious artichoke cream and salami that was a banger. The italiana had all your great italian cured meats as well as a truffle cream sauce that made the umami bomb even more umami. So good! THE FINAL BAMBOO: The two sandwiches were around $45, a little pricier on the sandwich side but man are they delicious. I'll definitely be back when I'm in NYC.

Someone order a Hot Italian? Here I am…read more The legendary Florentine sandwich shop achieved global fame by earning some of the highest praise in food journalism for its massive, fresh-baked schiacciata sandwiches. Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). It was good, but I will likely fuggedaboutit. The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.

Why they hid it all the way in the back, I have my assumptions and suspicions. I had to get an order of soup dumplings here so I got the Crab Soup Dumplings ($15). The skin is a bit thicker than other spots, but that means the skin ain't going to break on you easily. And do be careful how you bite into it, as the first one I bit into, the soup splattered all over my shirt and pants. Overall tasted great. Soup dumplings was not going to fill me up along, so I got something off of their lunch menu and settled upon Orange Chicken w Brown Rice ($18.50). Chicken was white meat, which is battered and deep fried. It says it was spicy, but it really wasn't. Comes with a vegetable spring roll and a choice of rice, which makes this a pretty decent lunch deal for $20. Menu prices are cash prices. If you pay with a credit card, they will slap a 2% processing fee. Overall, service was pretty decent as well. Would come back again for lunch.

We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed.
