Useless! They are incompetent. I ordered a veggie burger and salad. The initial estimate was 8:15-8:30, despite being one block away. I called at 8:35, after getting a text that said it would now be 9:25 (it would be TWO HOURS since order time). They at first didn't answer. Then when I did reach them, they said they "think" they could get it two me sooner, but maybe not. They said they would "make" the food in about ten mins but they don't "know when it will go out." Service: How sad that the employees (particularly one) feel that is okay to treat customers like they are worthless. I witnessed the "sandwich " boy treat the customers in front of me with an unwelcoming attitude. Most customers are not from NY and/or the US so they need extra time to understand the menu and/or how to order their food. The employees know this and should be more patient. Moving on, my turn. I decided on a Grilled BLT and requested a tomato that was not too "ripe" as I don't like soft tomatoes. He did not understand what the word ripe meant, so I told him in Spanish and he understood because he replied in Spanish. He then looked at me, picked up a few tomatoes and rudely said, "that is all we have". I told him don't worry about it and left. I've been here a couple of time and have mixed feelings on the food. My husband seems to enjoy his morning bagel from here but I feel like my orders have consistently been underwhelming sort of medium? Example - today I ordered a steakhouse breakfast wrap. My idea and their idea of steak are on two completely different levels. Their version of steak was actually from a Philly cheesesteak, which is definitely not what I thought it would be. I guess I should have asked ahead of time. Scrambled egg took up most of the wrap and an incredibly small amount of cheese rounded out the rest. The steak tasted more rubbery than anything and wasn't properly distributed. Some bites had zero steak while other bites were entirely steak. It wasn't the worst thing I've tasted but certainly not the best. I had to modify it when I got home to make it palatable. Last time I was there I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. I love cream cheese as much as the next person but they slathered on enough for a whole other bagel. Literally. Somehow the bagel itself managed to be on the tasteless side. So all in all, you'll get what you order... but chances are it won't be what you're expecting. Just think of it as the cheap knock off version that's good enough if you're hungry. That's the best way I can describe it. read more

I bought some fruit from them for $14. As I went to grab the fruit off the counter it had a slope on the edge of the counter . The fruit slid off the counter. They wouldn't replace it saying "I don't know what to do I put it in the bag". I was spending $25 a day in this store and they lost my $125 a week spending in there for $14. Not smart! read more

You can make your own and they have a bunch of options. - Make a hot chicken cutlet sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion - Make a salad. Size small is plenty, and the honey mustard chicken is good - Order chicken salad on the side. It's my go-to. If you've tried one or two things from here and didn't love it, I wouldn't write it off. Give it another shot, and watch out for some overpriced items like fruit and parfaits. Dessert isn't worth raving about. read more

A bit pricey but overall, a good standard lunch place. I came here Saturday for a quick bite and ended up getting a tuna sandwich, chips, cannoli ($3.50), and Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cups ($3) for around $17 total with tax. For a corner cafe/deli type joint their dessert display case is surprisingly delicious looking. I couldn't resist getting the cannoli, and it was pretty good! The shell was softened from sitting out prefilled, but this is a deli after all and not a bakery so I'm going to fault them for it. I was especially happy to find the Justin's PB cups because they're my favorite snack and not usually so easily found. The tuna sandwich was as expected, with good, crisp tomatoes and lettuce. My only complaint would be that it took a good 5-10 minutes of awkwardly standing by the counter before anybody acknowledged or offered to help me. I think they were maybe training a new employee at the cash register? There was some confusion with a customer when I walked in and the guys prepping the food were really backed up. I used to come here for freshly pressed vegetable juice. However, on a recent visit I discovered a few unsavory things: 1. The person making the juices did not bother to change his gloves after cleaning the counter with a rag 2. Walked by this place a few times in the past few days that we've been staying around the corner, and finally just went in for some dessert. Blueberry cheesecake, pecan tart and decaf cappuccino (decaf for the preggo). The winner was definitely the pecan tart, and the cappuccino wasn't shabby either. Just what we wanted before ending our last evening in NYC. The pecan tart was like a mini pecan pie and the flavor was wonderful. The crust was delicious. Blueberry cheesecake was forgettable. Take my advice and venture a few blocks down for cheesecake (see my other reviews for NYC). Total bill was $14 for the two desserts and the coffee. Extremely affordable and reasonable for NYC standards. Worth it in my opinion. Scoped out the deli and it looks like they have a great variety of fresh sandwiches and wraps. Threw my dart at the ol seamless web list and it landed near Cascade Cafe. Looking at their menu you'll find the usual diner type foods. Decided to order the Philly chicken sandwich with fries and some mozarella sticks even though I was tempted to order some of the breakfast fare for lunch. Their breakfast menu is available all day. Delivery was very quick seeing as they are only a few blocks away from my office. Within 10 minutes I was munching on the fries. Fries were very good. Cut thick, not too crispy and not too soft. The mozarella sticks were tasty with just the right amount of breading to cheese ratio. Did not like the marinara sauce supplied so I ate them bare. The sandwich was top notch. Cascade was very generous with the chicken but also with the onions and peppers. Had to remove some so the chicken was not drowned out. I have to say that this is one of the better Philly style chicken sandwhiches in my area. Overall I was very satisfied with my meal and will make Cascade on of my regular lunch spots. read more

Not bad for a lunch place. I've been here twice. Both times I got roast beef sandwiches but the roast beef the first time was much better than the 2nd time. I think it depends on which day of the week you come. My co-workers have all had the pasta made to order and they all said it was good and reasonably priced. I would recommend this place. read more

Watch out for the "Service Fee" for using a debit card. I can see if the fee is charged when a purchase is under $2 or $5, but my order was $12. I was told the final total at the register, but then saw my receipt with the "service fee" added and was not told I would be charged more after giving my debit card. This was the first time I was charged this "fee" so I advise you to spend your money wisely and eat elsewhere. If this location's management and staff feel a need to do this, there's no telling about other practices like food freshness, sanitary conditions, quality, and other issues you would want a business to address. read more

The staff are a little brusque; I'm sure they get tons of tourists coming in and asking questions when they just want to take your order and get it going. That said, they were polite and prompt and I left feeling satisfied if not overwhelmed. They had tons of yummy-looking cakes and cookies that I didn't get to try, but would've liked to. I haven't written yelp reviews for years, but this place have prompted me to do so. Bascially, one of the cashiers tried overcharging me and didn't even flinch his eyebrows when he was trying to do so! What a shady practice. I was amazed how he could remain nonchalant and deducted $2 off of the total right away when I asked him the price of the each item since the total didn't make sense for the amount of items I got.
