GETTING HERE: Was traveling and found we were near this restaurant and the reviews were encouraging. Decided to give them a shot! The address is correct on Yelp so rest assured you'll arrive without issue. REVIEW: Came with a group and it was a good dining experience. Glad to have given them a try. The lone server for us was really good, too. Sincere and kind. Managed our group very well. A variety of items (Pot Roast, Burger, Salmon, etc.) and drinks were ordered (alcohol, strawberry lemonade, coke, etc.) and the consensus was positive. I ordered the Fish and Chips and while the cod was flavorful, sadly the fries were served cold. I decided not to send them back for sake of time. Prices weren't too bad. The ambiance was calm, quiet, open, inviting. I would recommend Cascade Grill and will make it a return trip when I'm next in Oregon. Thanks!

Went for an early dinner on a Thursday - no waiting waitress was friendly. My Cascade chicken was delicious, it was topped with cheese and mushrooms. The fish and fries was really good too. Fish was crunchy on outside and yummy on the inside. Prices are reasonable. The ambiance was nice, relaxing and welcoming. Will come back again.

This was a sort of last minute decision for us and I have to say I'm not disappointed. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived around 7:00pm and most people were eating. We were seated after about 10 min as they had to clear and push together a couple tables for us. The restaurant is fairly open with tables and booths. It was pleasantly lit and not overly noisy. There is also a bar attached to the restaurant and it was quite busy. We opted to sit in the dining room. Our server, Sonia, was pleasant and efficient. She kept the waters filled and my Dr. Pepper full. The food took a little while. But we were eating by 7:40. Everything was tasty and appropriate temperatures. The prime rib was delicious and exactly right. I did not care for the horseradish sauce as it was more like a horseradish ranch... not horrible but not horseradish. The ladies liked their salads although they both thought the chicken was a little dry. My daughter enjoyed her burger. They all commented that the fries were really good. I was up to my armpits in beef and potatoes so I didn't try the fries. We opted out of dessert but the ones we saw at other tables looked tasty. I would recommend the Cascade Grill as long as you aren't in a hurry and don't mind paying a little more for the sit down experience. My only other request... get some good horseradish on the plate with the prime rib.

Points for convenience and location. Right next to the expo center and two hotels, this can be an excellent place to wind down and stay responsible by walking. However, food was a bit disappointing. May have been an off experience. Appetizer Bread - warm and comforting, a solid start to wind down and also get some carbs in to prepare for drinks, if applicable. Beef Soup of the Day - warm, hearty, comforting. I don't care much for beef soups but wanted something warm instead of a salad. It was solid, but I prefer other soups when possible, unfortunate that there's only one available at all times. 12oz Prime Rib - tasty prime rib but there was an excessive amount of fat. A fair amount of the prime rib was cut off because there was a little too much. Garlic potatoes were tasty though, so the overall entree isn't the worst. Chicken Fettuccini - overall, a pretty bland dish. Chicken was dry and not very seasoned. While the mushroom sauce was good, the pasta was bland and unseasoned and it was evident. Grilled garlic bread was fair and picked up excess sauce nicely.

I had an early dinner here by myself around 5pm. The staff is very attentive and the food was a perfect temperature. I don't know what they did with the shrimp but it tastes so fresh. This is much better than your typical bar & grille for anyone curious.

I had the bún (rice noodles) with grilled chicken and charred prawns. The first bite was good: prawns were excellent, lightly cooked, moist with a smoky sweet char. The second bite included nicely herbed noodles with fresh, good quality lettuce, mint and cilantro. The third bite, and majority of the dish unfortunately, contained overcooked, chewy chicken. The fish sauce mixture lacked birds eye chili, acid and seasoning. Dry chicken dominated, but ironically components that require more delicate treatment were prepared well. The fried spring rolls (cha gio) were greasy, missing that blistered, bubbly skin.. My companion ordered a strawberry matcha and the vegetarian bún: nice and herby and green, but lacking that good flavor (chili, acid) in the Nước Chấm fish sauce. It shouldn't be solely up to sriracha to get a dish to the right flavors. In all, a nice spot aesthetically and friendly staff but while dishes had super fresh veg and some solid proteins, other proteins were overcooked and our dishes were missed some of the flavors we love to see in Vietnamese food.

The bar is super cute and I love the hours off-set the restaurant hours so you can enjoy drinks prior to and after dinner. The bar tender was super friendly and you can see he enjoyed his job. The drinks were really good! Our friendly greater came to get us promptly when our table was ready. The table was ready with fresh baked bread and butter. Our waiter was Jessie; what a gem! He was so friendly and helped us with the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We started off with the bar fries (Jessie's recommendation) wow! They were amazing not super heavy and a perfect starter. I had the special which was a NY steak, with Hatch Chili polenta. My steak was perfection and the polenta was delicious. I loved the gravy as well. Superb blend of flavors. We ended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and espresso martini. Fabulous food and honestly some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.

The tomato appetizer that everyone seemed to rave about was ho hum and several of the sliced tomatoes were already mealy. We left it half uneaten. Entrees were another problem. The steak was over-marinated, so it became mushy even though apparently grill marks were attempted. The fish was poached, which can be good, but it arrived cold & was un-appetizing. It came with seasonal succotash underneath the fish but that was grayish, lumpy & also cold, so it was scraped to the side. Most was left uneaten & when offered to have it boxed up, we declined. I know there are not a lot of options in Albany for "fine dining" but this place is not worth the prices they charge.

I did notice there was a loft area that looks like a private party/gathering could be held. Once everyone left after the lunch rush, it was much quieter. Food - Yum! We started with the lemon pepper wings, which were recommended by our wait staff. The worst thing with wings are when they are dry and jerky like. This was not the case at Loafers. The wings were piping hot when they came out. Too hot to eat immediately. Once you got into the meat of the wings, it was moist. The lemon pepper flavor was great. Citrusy and peppery, not too salty. The wings came with baby carrots and celery sticks. I got the Buddha bowl which includes Rice, carrots, purple cabbage, avocado, sesame seeds, micro cilantro, mung bean sprouts, watermelon radish & peanut sauce and added seared ahi. I requested no rice and the waitress said it would be nothing if I don't get the rice, so she suggested getting salad. The bowl was massive. I'm not sure I needed the salad. It was really filling and the tuna was delicious. I felt the peanut sauce was a bit salty so I barely used it. Tuna has a pepper crust, so it was also flavorful. Overall, happy with our experience there for our team lunch.

I'm hoping with the improvements made in the last year, this all you can eat experience might be better. I'm with my crew traveling up the 5 towards Portland and I see there's an Applebee's location coming up here in Albany. These guys are ready for some all you can eat ribs (lets). We get seated fine and drinks orders taken. The inside looks pretty much like a lot of Applebee's. We all get the $15.99 riblets deal. It takes awhile for the first round to arrive. Each person gets 4 smallish slabs of riblets. I dunno which part of the pig these come off of, but I'd say they basically are the trimmings off the ribs to make the more popular cuts, like the St. Louis cuts. The bones are pretty small so watch out biting in. We all polish off that first order and we order refills. The second order takes some time again and is just 2 little pieces of riblets. Geeze at this rate, it's gonna take a long time to get filled up! I guess they hope you get filled up on the fries! Rating the riblets, I'd say skip them, they're not that good to wanna come back and go through the frustration of the slow ordering and you know, these ribs had a weird chemical taste, I think it's the artifical smoke flavoring they use. I, myself, am not a seafood eater and so this is a third-hand account of the food here. My partner goes all out and gets a massive plate of food. I believe her go to dish is the "When Larry Met Shrimpy," which comes with lobster and shrimp, in a sea of potatoes, corn, and sausage. She always gets so happy when she starts eating, and I love watching her enjoy herself. Every single time she eats here, she is always happy and always satisfied. When I look at what she gets, it's just a massive amount of food. She's a small person, but she really rips through the entire thing. Often times she moans about how she can't finish what's left, but almost invariably she does. I know she enjoys the whole thing...sausage and potatoes aren't just filler for her, they're an integral part of the boil. Recently, our son (10 y/o) has decided he wants to explore the seafood world. He's been somewhat denied, as I dislike seafood myself. Now my partner is gladly willing to have him try new things, as she'll finish it herself if it's gluten free. The first time we came here, he got a simple lobster tail by itself. He enjoyed it, but said that he didn't like the garlic-parmesan sauce that came with it. He still ate most of the whole thing. The last time he went with my partner, he got a "Larry," a boil with a single lobster tail. This time he went with the honey garlic sauce, which he said he enjoyed a lot more. He didn't eat all of the lobster, but my partner thinks that's because he's still figuring out what parts he likes to eat, and how to eat it. (This is one reason I dislike seafood; there seems to be particular ways you have to eat stuff and part of it you don't eat, but suck on? I don't know. I'll stick with burgers). He did hoover up all the potatoes though. He wasn't a fan of the sausage, but we seem to think it's just because he's somewhat unfamiliar with a bratwurst style of sausage. I think. My observations as a third party observer: The prices seem high to me. However, my partner tells me the quality is excellent and, by god, you do get a lot of food. Also, this cart takes longer to prepare the food than some of the other carts. I almost always get my food before she does, and by mutual agreement, we all eat as soon as our stuff is ready. This leaves her watching me eat to start, and then me watching her eat to finish. It's okay, just something to be aware of. I'd much prefer that the food be cooked to order, versus just hanging around in a pot all day to be ladled up when asked for and served rewarmed and overdone. All in all, I love that this cart is here, and my partner truly enjoys the food. It's also opening up a new world of food for my children and I can definitely appreciate that.
