This might be a long winded rant and review, but I want to first start off by saying I absolutely love this hotel and you need to do a little research on the reviews because this is where Yelp falls short as far as policing people who leave certain types of reviews. This hotel was smack dab in the middle of everything as far as close locations to multiple beaches as well as the amazing Venice, Florida. The hotel was so solid and the pool and tiki bar were also fantastic. The bed was king size and they give you five very comfortable pillows. There is a safe and a refrigerator in the room and they have a community microwave on the first and second floor. I was here for seven nights and honestly the only complaint I could even think of is maybe they need some more hooks in the hotel room to hang your bathing suit and towel so it can dry. There is a bar area in the lobby as well as a restaurant by itself called chef Rolf's Florida kitchen. So this is where I think yelp needs to do a little bit more policing because there are 32 reviews for this hotel and 17 of them are one star reviews... 11 of those 17 are from people with zero friends and zero pictures and less than five total reviews. Three of those 32 reviews are directed towards the restaurant which has its own yelp page. I absolutely love this hotel and I can't wait to come back next year. We decided to stay here because of the location and the price. It is relatively close to many beaches and other areas we wanted to check out. Our room was very clean and the shower was huge. We got a room with a balcony that overlooked the pool, which was nice to sit out at night. The pool is a decent size and they do have towels there as well. The hotel is quiet and you don't hear the traffic near by. The staff that we encountered were very nice and personable. They have a restaurant and a bar inside and by the pool. Shout out to Nicole and (I'm sorry I dont remember her name) to the woman at the bar inside, you guys were awesome. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This place has horrible food. Definitely skip the hotel if you can. The pool is always cold even though they have written that it's heated and 84 degrees. The place empty for the most part for good reason. The food is a horror show of its own. We had to send food back multiple times and my chicken wings had so many feathers as if the chicken wasn't even plucked. Just avoid it. We paid for a continental breakfast, but they don't even offer that and didn't honor what we paid for. read more

Calling Casey Key Resorts-Mainland a "resort" is a serious stretch. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have encountered. At check-in, we were given a key to what was supposed to be our room. When we opened the door, there was already a man lying in the bed. Allowing newly arriving guests access to an occupied room is an unacceptable privacy and security failure. After we reported the incident to the front desk, we received an apology and were moved to the room next door. Unfortunately, the replacement room was disgusting. The white comforters had what appeared to be semen stains on them, the tile floors were visibly dirty and covered in marks, the toilet was stained, and the room did not appear to have been properly cleaned or inspected before being assigned to us. The room was also advertised as having two queen-size beds. The beds were absolutely not queen size and appeared to be full-size beds at best. Rather than correcting the issue or moving us into rooms that matched what we had already paid for, the hotel's proposed "resolution" was for us to pay approximately $85 more to upgrade to two rooms with king-size beds. Expecting guests to pay additional money to correct inaccurate room accommodations--after assigning them an occupied room and then placing them in a filthy replacement--is completely unreasonable. The bathroom door was also extremely difficult to open from the inside. I genuinely believed I was trapped for more than five minutes and had to pull aggressively on the door to get out. That is not simply an inconvenience; it is a legitimate safety concern. We drove more than three hours through torrential rain only to be given access to an occupied room, moved into a dirty replacement room with stained bedding and a stained toilet, provided beds smaller than advertised, and then asked to spend more money for an acceptable alternative. The room also faced a parking lot and offered nothing resembling a resort experience. The photos speak for themselves. This property failed at the most basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance, guest safety, privacy, accurate advertising, customer service, and quality control. Was better when it was Bentleys if that says anything. if I could add a picture I would be more than glad to insert how they replied when it was their website that malfunctioned. We found this little get a way resort an hour from where we live and it was such a breath of fresh air.Check in was super smooth.Great customer service was wonderful.We had two rooms and they was able to put next to each other and close to an exit door which was a plus.The rooms where very clean and organized.House keeping very punctual and friendly.The key cards where really unique and made out of hard wood which was pretty cool.They had a pool that had cabanas and tv's and fans inside.I wouldn't eat at the restaurant again it's super expensive even with the $20 discount.The best part was the bus shuttle to their private beach.Its like maybe 8 minutes away.they come every hour to drop off and pick up.The resort gave us beach towels and lawn chairs just in case the umbrella and chairs where full and water.Such and amazing experience ..I will definitely be back for family fun. read more

What a wonderful little gem. So much to like about this place. Everyone who took care of us at the bar/restaurant was wonderful. The room was clean and tidy. I especially liked the bathroom, because you could get right up to the mirror to do your make up. The only drawback was not much counter space. But then I looked behind the door and they had cute little cubbies to put all your stuff in. What food we had was good. We didn't do any big dinner. We just did snacks. My only complaint would be that they were signs everywhere saying that it's a non-smoking hotel. But people were allowed to smoke at the bar. That was a bit of a bummer. Other than that, I'd highly recommend it. read more

If you're looking to stay here - RUN far far away. When I say I wish I could go back in time and never step foot in this place, I mean it with my whole heart. I booked a room at Casey Key on March 31st, when I paid the initial $192.96 for the "garden view" room. Not only was there mold in the room and on the remote control papers, but there was also stains covering the chair in my room - which look pretty horrid to me. Clearly human fluids here. To add to it, the toilet seat was broken and covered in feces. After complaining to the manager on site, he agreed to refund half the price of the room to my account. A week later, I am charged two ADDITIONAL fees for $96.48 and $153.52. When I called customer service, I was told that the manager added the fees but given no explanation. When I called back the second time to speak with accounting, I was told the manager had added a smoking fee to the room - which makes no sense as we do not smoke, and this was not discussed when he refunded me for the disgusting room. What they were smelling was probably the MOLD, because at this point I know I am being repeatedly charged by the manager out of spite. read more

This Hotel is a hidden Gem, close to everything! Very clean, NO CARPET!!!!! A big PLUS for me! ...... Not to have carpet~( Big Dust, Dirt Collector) is major props! I was comped breakfast The breakfast is Al la carte No powdered eggs here! Fresh! The Chef has Wild Caught Salmon from Scotland! Yum! It was delicious! The beds are comfortable & New! They remodeled recently, you are in for a treat! Minutes to Siesta Key Beach where the sand is cool to your feet made from Quartz! The beach is amazing! The coffee bar is complimentary too! I'd give it 17 stars if I could! The front desk staff is amazing especially Amy! The Night Security Guard walked me to my car 1 night, when I needed to get something out of it...he was kind & it felt very safe there! The Whole area itself is VERY SAFE! Oh my gosh I have quite the story to tell! Wish I could post my videos (Reach out to me if you would like to see them) Over three day period of time asking for a blanket four times almost got me arrested. At least that's what Mo and a very large (400#+) angry lady (I'm sorry I wish she would have given me her name but she refused I would have just used her name). Arrived with a woman's group and requested an extra blanket on check in, didn't receive it so the next morning my friend asked again in which they told her housekeeping would bring it. At the end of the 2nd day still no blanket went to the desk (this is where I was told they have NO blankets.) The hotel only had a few rooms rented it was empty. Another employee proceeded to correct me when I claimed 3 times asking state no it was my fourth and called me entitled :0. Went to bed without it the next day when he showed back up. I told him I was not a fan of him. In which the large angry lady and Mo ( this is suppose to be manager) Proceeded to tell me there calling the police. Facilities are clean and nice. Staff I met were super helpful, going all out to ensure a great stay. Restaurant food's solid. But here's the massive red flag: The manager wouldn't know hospitality if it smacked him in the face. He invents rules on the fly. After check-in, we needed temp plates for my patient's vehicle to get handicap plates. Instead is letting us leave it there, he threatened to tow us. The same hypocrite's has his own car without a tag rotting there for 6+ months. No special treatment expected--we paid for the room and spot--but getting chased off by this perfume-drenched clown (bathes in the stuff, nauseating) is BS. Stayed here multiple times; it's decent for the area, but this guy's zero hospitality toward a handicapped guest is pathetic. Shame on ownership for promoting a skill-less hack. Demote him to beach server pronto, or watch more loyal guests bail. This is just one example of his behavior. I would like to give this resort 4 stars for the food, cleanliness, staff, and facilities, but the manager earned the one star, and that is only because I have to give him something. read more

I was looking for a location to have a surprise birthday party for my wife. This location has a great ballroom with a stage and a bar in the rear. It turned out perfect for the party. Chef Rolf catered the food which was excellent. All of the guests enjoyed the party immensely. The staff was very capable and caring to our needs. All in all the party was a huge success. read more

My husband booked our two nights here for our 1st visit to the area. We came to canoe the Peace River and shark tooth hunt on Manasota Beach...lol! Our room was very nice, newly updated (I suspect) and decorated! I love the shower where there was glass across about 3/4 of the opening and then no shower curtain-I may do this at my own home. The outside had a lovely pool, lots of lounge chairs, music hut, small tiki bar for drinks and food. I'm sorry the weather wasn't nice enough to go out and sun! BEWARE! BED BUGS! My friend and I spent one night at this resort in November 2023. We traveled to the resort from different cities and in different vehicles, and met there. We checked in, had dinner at the resort, spent the night and checked out the next day. We traveled separately, in our own vehicles, back to our own cities/homes. Exactly three days later, we were both covered in bed bug bites. Bed bug bites take 1 to 14 days to appear. I myself had more than twenty different areas of multiple bites, which matched exactly the pattern that bed bugs leave on your skin. I had over 100 bites in total. I contacted the resort as soon as I realized what the bites were and that they had occurred in their hotel room. The resort manager, and myself had multiple correspondences. Sixteen days after returning home, and after 16 days of horrible discomfort from being absolutely covered in bed bug bites, I found a live bed bug in my home, that I brought from my stay at Casey Key Resorts Mainland. The resort sent their pest control company to my home, confirmed that the bug that I found was a live bed bug (which obviously came from my stay at their resort) and they agreed to pay to have my home treated, due to their negligence in keeping their resort free of bed bugs. Two days later, I was informed by Mo (a guest services manager) that the CEO, Shawn Kaleta, had changed his mind and decided not to pay for the treatment my home needed, due to my stay at his resort. Even the resorts own pest control company was disgusted when Shawn Kaleta reversed his decision to pay for the treatment that my home now needed, after he had originally told one of his managers to "take care of it and get it done". I was also informed by Mo, that they didn't have their pest control company come out to do an official inspection of their hotel until 11/27 & 11/28, which was 10 days after I made them aware of their bed bug infestation. On a side note, our hotel room had an extreme odor of mold and/or mildew. The resort manager, Chris Charles, did end up refunding us for our stay, without us even asking for a refund. The refund we were given, without asking for it, is obvious proof that they know of their severe problems with bed bugs and mold/mildew. I have since paid out $700 in bed bug treatment at my home, and still need to pay for additional follow-up treatments because of this resorts negligence, and them failing to provide their customers with safe and clean rooms. The pest control company that I hired stated to me that with the amount of bites that I had, the resort most certainly knows that they have a severe bed bug infestation. Research bed bugs - like I've had to do since this disgusting situation occurred - and you will never risk this happening to you and your loved ones. This has been an absolute nightmare for me, and I've written this review because I don't want to see this happen to other families. read more

Comfortable stay. Beds were comfortable, room was big, very good Location. Many things to do near by including ;beach less than 10 min away, state parks , fishing. We had a parkside room which was more private was tours the back, didn't have to walk thru hotel to get to room. Was easy access for those with kids that have to travel with tons of stuff, we parked right in front of the room. If you like more action you can probably book a room with pool view that are more around the hotel. (Publix and Walmart near by , this is always a plus) read more

My husband and I booked two nights and checked into their loft suite on 2/14/25. Upon arrival we noticed full blinds missing on the windows and an attempt to use duct tape to repair other parts of the blinds. I proceeded upstairs and was excited to take a bath after a long day of traveling only to find there's no hot water. Called front desk, maintenance man confirmed and excused it away due to hotel being at capacity. Again frustrating but not the end of the world. Fast forward to bedtime, loud humming noise. Can't figure out where it's coming from. Went to front desk, security can't figure it out either. We move into a standard room at midnight assured that the manager will contact us in the morning and work on getting us back in our suite. Neither of those things happened. When we returned to the hotel Saturday evening we could clearly see that they had given our suite to other guests and never even gave us a phone call. We opted to give them the benefit of the doubt for the night and discuss it with a manager the next morning. After another cold shower due to no hot water in our new room my husband was extremely angry. We proceeded to take our belongings and check out at the front desk where we asked for a manager. Moe came to the desk and immediately knew who we were without us telling him anything and did not even attempt to apologize. We are not people who expect anything for free but I kindly asked him to comp one of the nights for the inconveniences we endured throughout our entire stay and he declined. He did give us a $200 discount after getting rude with my husband stating there was no manager on duty Saturday but gave no explanation for giving our suite away without contacting us. I'm upset about the experience but even more so I am upset with how we were so easily dismissed after trying to be accommodating and understanding over things out of their control. This place is nothing fancy, but honestly, we have rated it four stars for several reasons: Friendliness/welcoming staff, clean rooms, very reasonable, nice pool area, friendly people, good food (try the pizza...dynamite) and a fun band on Friday night. We have stayed in 5 Star hotels that could not compare...If you are looking for snob appeal, don't stay here, but if you want a clean, comfortable room with nice linens, friendly people, friendly staff and just a nice place to chill with live music at night by the pool, this is the place. read more

Employees were complaining and just overall not happy, so we paid our bill and left. Hotel was adequate for our 4 night stay. The pool area is excellent and they seamed to be trying to make improvements to make conditions better everywhere power washing and staining the deck. We enjoyed a full day at the pool in one of the cabanas and they played relaxing music that was enjoyable and not too loud. They seamed understaffed in the restaurant and tiki bar in the evening but those working were doing their best to get us what we needed. The pizza my 4year old ordered was very good, the fish and chips and chicken tenders were just ok. The keyboard player was pretty good and played good tunes. The bed was firm but comfortable enough, shower pressure and temp was good and room was clean. read more

This place is not worth the $180 per night. This is just a newly renovated Howard Johnson's. The room smelled like mold and mildew for the whole stay. The staff seems like they're all on a different planet. And by that I mean drunk or high. None of them had any idea what was on the menu and had to come back twice to verify it. Half of our food came out wrong or didn't come at all. The waitress/bartender is incredibly slow and clearly has no business being a bartender since she had no clue how to make half of the drinks that were ordered. Chef Rolf clearly took over the restaurant and tried to make it way too fancy and complicated. To be quite honest, he's not a very good chef. He's tried to turn this dumpy little hotel restaurant and tiki bar into a 5 star restaurant and this is not the atmosphere for it. I do not recommend that anyone stay here. Go to an actual resort or just go a Holiday Inn because that's about the same quality you get when you come here. read more

We went to the pool area once and the guests in the cabana next to us were smoking pot- not at all very family friendly. Pool water made skin very itchy.. tiki bar was very expensive and the drink tasted like juice.. nevermind the odd characters running the show.. never again! While COVID has be nightmarish for everyone, we planned a small, family wedding on Casey Key Labor Day weekend held at a private residence. We booked a room at the Casey Key Resort for 7 nights in order to accommodate any "overflow" housing for guests. It was difficult to know how many nights we would need. Bottom line is we only ended up using 4 nights. My wife called in advance of checkin several days alerting the Resort we would need only 4 nights and could we have a refund for the 3 unused nights (we were required to pay through Expedia in advance for the full reservation which is very uncustomary). We were told to reach out to Expedia through whom we booked the reservations to seek reconciliation. Expedia told us we must deal directly with the resort in these matters. Can you say "run around". We could not get resolution, so we thought we would wait until checkin and perhaps a face-to-face conversation. We did have that talk. Christopher Charles, Manager told me there was nothing he could do in the way of a refund. After I pressed him, he said he could offer a "credit" for the 3 nights. Most hotels are willing to honor cancellations if made 24 hours prior to checkin. His gesture was workable until he said the 3 night credit had to be used before years end. That was not acceptable to us! I asked him to please extend the credit to 12 months. Seemed reasonable to me, not knowing what future travel plans might hold. He said no, he could not. I emailed him again asking him to reconsider, no response. My conclusion, the dollar trumps customer service and the desire to build a good reputation. When profit supersedes people we have a problem! We will not use or recommend Casey Key Resort ever! read more

We have stayed in this colorful hotel property before. It was recently purchased by a new conglomerate. Our first experience about 4-5 years ago was AMAZING!! Room was clean, lovely decorations, and reasonably priced. A few weeks ago, we had quite the opposite experience. Room was in rough shape. Looked like they hadn't updated a thing. Air conditioner was so loud we could barely sleep, room was falling apart-lights above bed were falling off the wall, blinds were completely broken and missing in places on the French doors as well as rusted at the top. Faucet was coming away from sink, etc. And the prices had increased by a great deal. The only thing that kept us from checking out early was the location and the super kind housekeeper, Audrey. She told us that the place had been bought out by a big developer and that it was due to be overhauled in July. This could be good or bad. Sometimes large companies lose sight of customer service, etc. Anyway, Audrey was delightful and we may try again next year only because of the information she gave us. read more

Do not waste your money here! We reserved 2 nights, 2 rooms through Hotels.com. This "resort" uses resort check-in/check out times, which means late check-in (4pm) and early check -out (10am). We checked into our rooms and discovered several problems right away. In one room, the refrigerator and the phone didn't work. In both rooms there was a smell in the bathrooms of rotten eggs/sewage smell. We had to call the front desk on our personal phone to report the problems and we were told that they would "try to see if there was a maintenance man around somewhere". We did not see a maintenance man and no one contacted us. Later on, at bed time, we discovered a flea on the bedding. In the morning, as we were expecting to enjoy sleeping in, housekeeping started rolling their carts out at 8am. Turns out our rooms were next to the Housekeeping offices. Also, the housekeeping staff were loud during this time with constant chatter in Spanish. I had to open the door and gesture to them to be quiet. Then someone came by with a leaf blower! Stay away from rooms 182 and 184 if you must stay there. They advertise black out curtains - no. Just blinds. The pool area is nice and there is a Tiki Bar. As I was swimming with my 2 granddaughters ages 3 and 8, I witnessed lots of day drinking and unattended little ones, one almost tipped backwards into the pool. He looked to be about 15 months. We have reached out to Christopher Charles, the manager, many times. After our first call he seems to have ghosted us. We reached out to Hotels.com and they have been really great trying to assist us. So far it looks like the unprofessional Christopher Charles is avoiding them too. I have had better stays at the Holiday Inn, at half the price. read more
