I had an issue with a purchase and was not allowed a simple return for even swap or credit and was received rudely by the manager on site. I reached out to corporate over the situation and they ignored both my wife and I after an initial canned response. It breaks my heart to sever my once loyal ties with Thorntons over this station's poor customer policies and treatment. This was not my primary Thorntons, but the complete lack of customer appreciation by this station and the corporation led me to this.

I came in and saw the "free vacuums" and wanted to quickly vacuum out my car before getting gas. I actually had zero intention of getting a car wash but after pulling up and spending about 20-30 min detailing my car with all the extras (all purpose cleaner and towels, scent, air gun, glass cleaner) and a vacuum that was the strongest suction I have ever seen, I felt guilty just using the freebies and decided to get a wash. Car wash is affordable and they have a monthly plan that also allows you to get your to 30 cents off / gallon of gas. The $10 monthly car wash pays for itself in gas if you fill up weekly. On top of all that, the car wash attendant came out when he saw me pull my mats out and offered to wash them for me unprompted. He even gave me a free towel. On top of that there is a very clean Dunkin inside the gas station and a "taco pros" that far exceeded my expectations for a gas station taco spot. Needless to say, I would drive the 15 min from my house weekly to stop here. Overall great experience.

If you're coming from the east, sometimes you have to wait just to cross the traffic to get into the station. I like the place because the prices are among the lower ones around (but not the lowest) and it's super convenient for me. Nevermind that sometimes all of the pumps are filled and you have to wait to fill up! I don't really shop here for much, but I've found it's an adequate place for jerky when I get that craving, hot dogs, drinks, washer fluid and even okay prices on mulch. They sell lottery tickets, too. The Speedy Rewards card is a great way to earn points for all of your purchases there. I've been using my card and accumulated enough points to basically pay for any small sundry item I might occasionally pick up.

On this Speedway trip I was heading to the Milwaukee area to catch the Red Bull event. It's conveniently located off the highway. I think the hidden gem of this place is the gas pumps behind the building. I even tried out the new Laredo Tacos that are replacing most of the Speedy Cafe's. Their breakfast tacos aren't bad but the quality compares to hotel breakfast food. I will say the shelves are stocked. Staff is sub par, bathrooms are fair. The gas was priced @ $284.9/gallon. FYI Shell Gas has always been my Number 1 preferred Option, but because of the huge price discrepancy I use Costco Gas. In this case it was 10 cents less then the Costco in Niles @ $294.9/gallon. Typically Costco runs 20-30 cents less then the other gas stations. The difference being one gas station is in CROOK County and the other is in Lake County. Anywho I gassed up my car at Shell in Lake County and saved a few bucks.
