I'll start this that this was my first time there, so it could be an off night. Service was atrocious. Food was mildly expensive, not bad though. The food (3 different entrees & an appetizer) were all subpar (especially for the price), and the table next to us agreed. Service was bad. Bad. It was over 70mins after ordering, before we got our main entree!). It was to the point that I had written a note that said he is money for my drinks and app, the service was bad so we left. Another table did that about 2 mins before I was going to walk out. They left cash for their consumed food (not the food that was still being cooked), and they walked out. The manager and server lost their minds. They called the cops on these 3 people. I get it, the people left without paying for the food that hadn't been served to them. But. A big but. They arrived the same time as myself, and as I mentioned we waited well over 70 minutes for our food. I was to the point they were at. Sat outside and it was a beautiful quiet evening listening to music. Katelyn was our server - great service. Had the linguini pasta w pesto sauce and shrimp - delicious! Husband had bowl of clam chowder soup which had a ton of clams in it and was quite good. Crab cakes were good - a little spicy though. I have been to Casey's twice. The first time was a few years ago. The food was just okay, but the service was so bad that my husband, my brother, and I weren't inspired to return. We finally stopped by just for drinks and Club Keno last weekend. Mistake! The service was just as inattentive and slow! There was a party going on toward the back of the bar, and there was a large table that demanded too much of the staff's attention. Therefore, we were neglected. The worst was when we were waiting and waiting and waiting for our check. During this time, a couple walked in. They stood at the door, waiting to be acknowledged. Should they seat themselves? Should they wait to be seated? The looked around, but none of the staff, even the bartender, made eye contact with them. After several moments, they started to seat themselves. As they walked by our table, I told them that the service doesn't get any better. They thanked me for letting them know, and they left. Once we finally received our check, we paid paid with exact change because we knew paying with a credit card would only suck our afternoon away from us. We were happy to leave, and we won't be back. I have been a big fan of Casey's for many years. I always felt they had a well rounded menu that included steaks and seafood dishes. I was also excited to learn they had done some remodeling over the last winter. I went there the first weekend in May and I must say I was extremely disappointed. The new menu was primarily pub food. I ordered the Cod fish and chips. If there was any fish in what looked like mini bread rolls I could not find it. For an appetizer we ordered the Calamari. What we got looked like corn flakes with mini pieces of something. Not sure that was Calamari. The new focus of Casey's seems to be get a drink into your hand in the large bar area and if you want you can order a limited amount of pub food from the menu. read more

I'm updating Casey's because I so want to like this place because of our past experiences but just when they seem to kick it up a notch, they taker that notch right out of the stack. Food First....They got better...kinda but then they did a flop on the menu. Last year they were sporting a breakfast brunch which wasn't bad, nice Bloody Mary bar. The breakfast was pretty good, but the place was empty. The only advertising was a tiny section in the Harbor Country news. Nobody knew about it and the place was always empty. Good Management. To my most recent, the online menu sported a Mammas Meatloaf, wrapped in bacon, smothered with mushrooms and a Guiness sauce. That sounded awesome. When we got there, that was not on the restaurant menu. Mammas Meatloaf was a meatloaf with a tomato sauce and onion straws. Really, any stripmall café could put that crap together. They said they would comp the dinner if we ordered the one on restaurant menu and at least tried it. Like I said, stripmall café garbage. Caseys has morphed into nothing more than a bar with bar food. The Burgers and the Paddy Melt is good. The Bar area in the back is pretty cool. The food was good and our server was lovely. There are cool rock and roll pictures on the wall that I liked. A member of my group however got mayo on her burger when she asked for it to be left off. We came to this town after blueberry picking with the family. The restaurant we wanted to go to was closed, so we just chose Caseys since it was close by. I wish we checked the reviews first. The service was awful. We were sat and given the menu. The food sounded great and wanted to order, however the service was non-existent, just like other reviews mentioned. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes and we began to get irritated. We began to look around and noticed that the people outside were getting great service. We tried to catch an employee but couldn't get any contact. We then noticed that other tables inside had the same problem. Just as we said "Let's just go, maybe we would get service if we were one of the frat kids outside.", the server came to get our order. Soon after, we received our food. The food was excellent! I only came to Casey's because my Dad insisted. He'd been here before and we were looking for a bite to eat before heading to a ND football game. Our waitress was SUPER friendly and attentive - the loss of stars is definitely not because of the service. The service was great. But the food and the menu were severely lacking. There wasn't a whole lot on the menu that caught my eye or appetite. But once I settled on a salad, I was sadly informed that several items on their menu were no longer available. The waitress explained that they were transitioning their menu in the coming weeks and getting a new one. Bummer. I finally settled upon the "special" - popcorn shrimp and French fries. Not really what I wanted but ordered it anyways. The popcorn shrimp weren't as warm as I'd hoped they be and the breeding was soggy. We walked in and we were immediately hit by a nasty smell, we had a group of nine and got seated pretty fast. After we got seated the waiter came over and brought us water and got our other drink orders. We ordered the fried pickles and they were not the best, but we still had hope. We received our food and one of the mac and cheeses was freezing cold, it tasted like they had just taken out of the fridge and served it. We asked for 2 things of ranch and by the time we even saw the server again it had been at least 30 minutes and we still did not receive our ranch. I feel compelled to write this review after reading all the bad ones. Came here today, July 31, 2016 for lunch with my sister and best friend. There was plenty of seating outside so we picked a table and sat down. We were promptly served with water by the bartender, Mark. Shortly after, he took our orders and made sure we were comfortable. There are plenty of things to distract you as you wait for the food like tvs, decor, etc. I was really impressed with the decor, super cozy and fun! Our food came out fairly quick. We all ordered burgers. They were impeccable. I was shocked at how delicious the burger was! It was grilled to perfection. I also want to give a huge shout out to the bartender, Mark. He was super quick and kept checking in on us even though the bar was filled and he was super busy. That deserves a great tip in itself. I feel bad that this place has a bad rep as of late. The food is MUCH BETTER than Stray Dog and the atmosphere is fun! Maybe it is different on busy days/ times but I had a wonderful experience! read more

I truly regret having to leave a bad review, however this place was absolutely horrible in so many ways that I must give all potential customers fair warning... Let us begin with the server. She comes to the table with that infamous mopey look and swagger as if she was just repulsed at even having to be at work today. I ordered a carafe of wine (Lolo Malbec) yet she brings me a glass. No big deal right, however when I point it out it's followed by sighs as if I'm the problem. So she brings me the carafe shortly thereafter, yet half full because of course I already have a glass in front of me. Okay, so you're incompetent, repulsed by having to be at work, and cheap all in one. I can live with it though... just wait it gets worse. Moving on now to the cook/chef. My guest orders the pretzel bites with fonducheese. The cheese is cold... so cold and sitting so long that a film has set upon the top. The cheese curds within the dip have set so long that they've all but built a permanent tent city within. In fact, you would've needed a sledgehammer just to get through the hardened film (outer coating) just to dip the pretzel bites. It's hard to believe but the worst has yet to come. I ordered the Mahi Mahi. Upon cutting into the filet I noticed the inner core was completely raw. Yes... completely raw, fleshy, and runny. It was literally Salmonella on a plate. No thank you. I kindly requested the manager come to my table. Now finally... the fabulous Manager. Not sure her exact name because after only a few minutes I wanted her as far away from me as humanly possible. Nevermind the waitress or even the amateur cook for a minute. When the Manager came to the table I did nothing but point to the open Mahi filet and she immediately said "Oh wow, I'm sorry." I responded with "it is what it is, if you could just bring me my check that'd be great." This Manager then had the audacity to begin lecturing me about how food preparation was not a perfect science that I should keep that in mind when calling for management. Wow.... So it's my fault lol. Keep the money, ignore my concern, and go on as if it never happened. Great policy! Note to all those in the New Buffalo area... do not waste your time or risk your mental or physical health visiting this restaurant. You'd be better off eating 4 day old chicken livers at the Chicken Coop 15 miles east. I only wish there was an option for ZERO STARS within this app. read more

Although a 2 hour wait for outdoor seating they offered immediate indoor seating available in the rear only although most tables up front were empty. Waited quite awhile for entrees ("computer systems down") only to be told about 20 minutes after ordering that they were "out of" the fish tacos I wanted. Bummer! Since I was in the mood for not-fried-fish, not much else to choose from besides swordfish. I settled for a bowl of clam chowder soup for which the waitress graciously offered to charge me the cup price ($2 savings) instead. No need for me to ruin the teen, tween, & 8 yo happy look on their faces. The 8 yo devoured the fries ( or should I say ketchup w/fries?) & nibbled his pasta with butter. daughter said her burger was good & finished it. Hubby says he wasn't impressed by the perch sandwich (but he finished it!) Teen boy enjoyed his burger & fries. They kept my hot tea full but neglected to bring a spoon for my sweetener. They quickly cleared empty dishes. Friendly service could have been more effective perhaps. Our Girls Weekend group of 11 stopped for a cocktail on a Saturday afternoon. The place was packed. (food must be good!) After a short wait they happily opened their side room to accommodate us! While we didn't have food. The Cocktail/Drink menu was a great selection, with a seasonal variety of martinis. Great Atmosphere, as the servers and hosts were happy and helpful. I'm not sure why this restaurant has a low Yelp score. We ate here twice at the end of June 2021. Both times the service was friendly & fast & the food was good. It's pretty typical food you'd expect from a Bar & Grill. We had the shrimp tacos, mahi po'boy, Reuben & pretzel bites. It was all really good & the Reuben was super tasty!!! I did think the mashed potatoes lacked salt, but that could be our only minor complaint. The kids liked the fries & chicken nuggets. The server did not know what it was made out of. When you are selling a new item, you typically know what it is to help sell it. We come to find out this veggie mush shape burger is soy based and tomato jam inside but with RED DYE FOOD COLORING. How is that right?! To imitate a veggie burger you add blood red coloring. Don't get this! My sandwich was good overall, but chips were cold and hard as a rock. Wont be back to this but for other people who visit, be sure to ask what's in it. My family and I just had lunch over here on a Saturday around 1:30 pm..... We all thought the food great. I was looking over a lot of the negative reviews so I was hesitant to come here. There was a 15-20 minute wait which we expected because of the area. I ordered a southwest chicken sandwich and my wife had their Mahi Mahi Po boy sandwich and she loved it. They do have a kids menu. My daughter had their chicken nuggets and she got like 8 pieces. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this place. French fries were really good. Drinks were priced reasonable. And we had great/attentive service from Isaac. Definitely would come back here again. read more
