This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had, especially for how expensive Copper Rock is. Absolutely nothing came out correctly. The timing was just as unacceptable as the food. My drink took 35 minutes to arrive, and our entrées came out an hour and a half after the appetizers--just for everything to be wrong. For a place that charges premium prices, this level of service and execution is honestly shocking. Overall, this was a complete waste of money and time. We set at the bar and was greeted right away by the two bartenders. They took our drink order and brought out the bread basket. The basket had several types of breads and the butters/spreads were all great pairings with it. We ordered the seafood platter which had jumbo prawns, lump crab salad, jumbo shrimp, lobster claws, ahi tuna, and oysters. It was served with warm butter, red wine vinegar, cocktail sauce, light lemon ranch sauce. Everything was very fresh and enough for two. Excellent atmosphere and white table cloth restaurant at Four Winds casino! Made a reservation for 9 pm through open table and our table was ready when we arrived. We were seated and served with water and bread immediately. The bread and butter tray was a phenomenal selection of both. The butter has different flavors- onion chive, bacon cheese, honey butter and salted butter: mouth watering! Our server Ann was excellent and gave us many recommendations since this was our first time. The French onion soup was excellent. Hub and I both ordered the 7 oz filet and were cooked to our desired temperature. Dessert, we decided to have the mudslide and grasshopper from the bar and were really good as well. Last minute girls getaway. Stopped in on a Wednesday night with no reservations. Chaz welcomed us with open arms and fit us in at a table in the bar since there weren't any seats at the bar. We ordered 7 oz filets with broccolini and mashed potatoes as sides. When the filet arrived it was cold...this was proven by the the garlic butter pad they placed on the piece of meat (it was cool an did not melt). We were disappointed after receiving reviews from friends claiming this was as tasty as Gipson's. Not true. I had a glorious filet at Gipson's earlier in the week and there was no comparison. Maybe it was a bad night but it was a Friday. The mashed potatoes were watery and the broccolini was blah with not spices. The gravy provided for the steaks was cold and congealed. Crazy thing happened. Reservations were made by the couple we came to visit for dinner at copper rock for 6pm but my friend got lucky on a machine with a 412 bonus spins and could not leave. So we meet with Chaz at the restaurant and were able to be added to their reservation so Mom and I could hold the table while she won! They were so accommodating. Zach provided us with a lovely butter and bread spread. Each butter spread was explained in detail as well as the bread. We enjoyed the pretzel rolls and chive butter the best. Jonathan was our waiter and he was kind, knowledgeable, and hustled. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, house salads, French onion soup, and chocolate cake while we waited for our friends. I would like to have had six shrimp but the four we got were super large and tasty so it worked out. The salad was fresher than fresh. The dressing came in a little boat on the side. They knocked it out of the park with the french onion soup. I highly recommend getting that and you can't go wrong with the chocolate cake. We couldn't eat all the cakes so we packaged it up and ended up having it later In the hotel room. Our friends ended up arriving around 6: 50pm with smiles from ear to ear. We finished our cocktails and separated so they could enjoy the reservation and their alone time that they originally planned. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and how they accommodated the last minute change. The food was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. The floor plan was open and spacious so you could enjoy watching the food being made and prepped. This establishment was well lit, smell good, and staff was very professional. I booked a table for a business meeting and specifically requested a table where we could hear each other talk. We were sat in the middle of the dining room, when there were tables in private rooms available for the entire time we were dining. The noise level was not bad at first, as we had an early reservation, but it did pick up towards the end of the meal. The service was slow - be prepared to spend 2-3 hours for a full course meal. It took 20 minutes at times just to get another glass of wine. The bread selection is great and they bring as much as you want, the spreads were abundant and delicious as well. We had the oysters rockefeller, seared ahi tuna, and bone marrow appetizers. The oysters had either fennel or anise flavoring, which was a bit off-putting. The tuna was fantastic, but was seared extremely lightly and unevenly - which is fine for sushi fans like us but anyone looking for a more cooked product should steer clear. The waitress warned us that the portion on the bone marrow was small, and she wasn't kidding. Any other restaurant I've ever ordered it from provides at least one full bone (split into 2 halves) - this was only one small half and was served with only two crostinis - not worth the price. I had a roast beet salad that was awesome; and then the waiting started. I didn't exactly time it but we had enough time to order two more drinks between our first and second courses so it must have been close to an hour at least. When the steaks finally arrived, it was apparent why they took so long to come out - because they were cooking them to death. We ordered medium on the filet, and medium rare on the ribeye. The filet came out well done, and the ribeye came out medium well. The salmon was cooked to our liking, but the cajun seasoning left something to be desired. The manager did come and inspect the steaks and offered to re-cook them for us, but because the wait time was already so long, we did not want to extend it again. They did comp the steaks from the bill. We ordered Truffled Lobster Mac & Cheese and mushrooms for sides. The mac came with a single piece of lobster claw on top which is a major no-no when offering this dish. The mushrooms were good, but a little dry. It was an unexpected disappointment as the last time I had dined here a few years ago it was a fantastic experience. I would suggest driving an extra 45 minutes to go to the Hard Rock Northern Indiana's Council Oak steakhouse if you're looking for a great steakhouse/casino combination - they always knock it out of the park and will be much more worth your money and time. read more

We had a great dining experience this evening. This was our first visit to the restaurant. We started with drinks. My husband had an old fashion and I had a frozen margarita. Both were made well and tasted good. We were started off with a bread basket with several different butters. We then ordered the calamari as a starter. Lightly breaded with a nice pepper flavor. My husband and I ordered the filet mignon. I ordered a sweet potato which had a sweet cinnamon butter. We were so full that we had to take our desserts to go. But our desserts were also delicious. The service here was excellent - although it took them almost 10 minutes to come to the table the first time to take out drink order so I was worried we were going to have a bad experience but they did not disappoint. I've had many fancy steak casino meals in my time and I have to say this is one of the best! My husband had the 55 day aged bone in ribeye and it was AMAZING! I had the filet and it was good but not anywhere compared to his meal. The tomato with arugula with the steak was a nice touch. I would not get the fried calamari next time as a starter. It wasn't fried all the way through and we had some soggy bits. The baked potato and broccolini was good but nothing fabulous. Now the dessert - the crème brûlée - was one of the best I've had. Chaz greets you and your night is off! Chaz does a excellent job of setting the tone and to be honest I felt under dressed walking to my table. Next was given water and bread via Zach, it almost felt like a water to wine situation given Zach's energy and physique. Katie came next taking my drink order (VM all day & evening). I was in the mood to be efficient and Katie took my whole order, shrimp cocktail, surf and turf special (switching to cab with the main). After receiving my VM from Katie, my shrimp cocktail came shortly after. Jerry delivered it and explained the sauces. The cocktail sauce with horse radish was as close to the Elmo shrimp cocktail I've become accustomed too. I made it to my second VM before the entree came with my cab. I was not disappointed, as I selected one of the specials of the night and the lobster gave a coast a run for its money. Love this place. When we do get to stay at the casino we eat here. We prefer the bar area. The tables in there do need a reservation sometimes but the seats at the bar are first come. They have solid pours if you get a glass of wine. There is an extensive liquor selection with many upper top shelf selections. Our most recent visit we did a bunch of apps rather than meals. We split the wedge salad which was underwhelming this time but we have had better there. The boutique (small size) oysters were fresh and ice cold. The cocktail sauce and Bloody Mary Ice for them were really good. We did not like the minionette or however it's spelled. We also got the crab cakes (1 each) which were solid. The best part was the Hot Stone. It's thin sliced filet and you cook yourself on the hot stone. It was delicious. It comes with three sauces (bearnaise, house made steak sauce, and a reduction. This is our favorite way to experience this place because we get a good variety and are not overly full. Next time we are skipping the crab cakes and doing either buffalo shrimp or cocktail shrimp. NOV 2022 - We went to Copper Rock New Buffalo MI to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The seafood dish I ordered was not as I expected. Chef Brian came to our table to check. I candidly stated it was not what I thought. Without hesitation, Chef Brian asked if I wanted something else. I ordered a filet. Restaurant GM Wayne brought my replacement dinner and made sure it was to my liking. Staff members Brian & Wayne made what could have been an unpleasant event into an enjoyable evening. First-time visitor. You start off with a lovely variety of bread and crackers, with varied types of butter. My husband ordered a ribeye and I had a prime rib. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Lots of different breads along with some butters and cheeses to try. This, on its own, is awesome. I ordered a Devil's Advocate cocktail. I'm not seeing it on their menu page, but it was very sweet and fruity. Probably not the best choice for a heavy meal like this, but it looked good on the iPad thing they leave on the table. The French Onion Soup ($9) was excellent. Really large bits of onion in there. Honestly, after the bread and soup, I was full. So was my wife. And we were *starving* when we arrived. Even though I was full, I had already ordered the 16 oz. NY Strip Steak for $54. It was a quality steak and they cooked it perfectly medium rare as I had requested. I do prefer when a steak has a nice crust on the outside of it. My favorite steakhouse (Bavette's in Chicago) always delivers a steak with a salty, peppery, slightly charred outer crust that dissolves in your mouth. At Copper Rock, my steak was good, but it was lacking the extra oomph to help it justify the price tag. Our server Irene was a total sweetheart. When my wife hadn't finished her rosé, Irene told her she could take the glass out to the casino floor. Awesome. At the end of the meal, they gave us each a mini chocolate beignet. Put the whole thing in your mouth because when you bite down, it explodes with a warm chocolatey center. That was awesome. We also shared the chocolate cake, which was quality, if not amazing. Irene gave us silverware to eat the leftover cake in our room at the hotel. A nice, thoughtful touch. On the expensive steakhouse quality scale, the food was probably a 3-star situation. This is the first negative experience I've had at this restaurant and it has nothing to do with the food. Went to the restaurant on a Thursday night at 8:15 p.m. While we didn't have reservations, there were at least 6 to 8 tables empty in the dining room and 1 in the bar. The hostess told us there were no tables available. Really? You mean other than the 9 tables we could see? The restaurant closed at 9, so whatever phantom reservations were previously made were not showing up. Its disappointing that the restaurant closes earlier than it used to, but if you don't want to seat people after a certain time, post the policy rather than tell customers there aren't any tables available. Stray Dog, here we come. At least we are always made to feel welcome there, and don't have to lose money in that establishment. read more
