If I were giving this review based on food alone, I would give it one star. The restaurant was beautiful, super trendy design and a great atmosphere. The staff was amazing. The hostess, our waitress, the bartender and the food runners were super friendly and took great care of us. The food however was a huge disappointment. The crab cakes tasted like they had tuna or salmon in them, the Brussels sprout salad was bitter and my ribeye steak literally tasted like it was soaked in water. It lacked flavor and half of it was un-edible because it was fat and tendons. My husband and I had to be in Amarillo for work and we wanted a nice dinner because it was our anniversary, we were very disappointed, the quality of the food didn't match the price. read more

First time to visit Cask & Cork, I was not impressed. We were looking for a place to have a nice dinner and it didn't happen. First we were told they had porter house steak and shortly after that the waiter came and told us they were out, so we order the bone in ribeye. The cut of meat was so bad we had a hard time even chewing it. We did get a couple of bites worth eating. The lobster mash, mushrooms, green beans and red potatoes were okay. No Manager ever came out to check our steak after we mentioned it had a ton of bad gristle. They did hand us some free appetizers and drink coupons but We left them because we're not planning on going back. The wait staff is very young and the restaurant needs new management. Morale of the story it was sad. Took a while to get a seat when the restaurant was half empty. Then server took forever to get our order. Drinks weren't bad, a mule and a hard cider. Wife ordered a salad and I an appetizer. Took more than 30 minutes to get our food. Wifes salad looked deflated and sad, tasting worse. It looked like it was passed through a blender, and enough tasteless brown dressing to make the bottom look like she ordered soup. The 72hr sous vide sliders could skip a few days of cooking and get to the table a little earlier. They were forgettable. Best thing we were served was the fries. Hot, fresh, crunchy and seasoned well. Also, kinda pricey place. 15 bucks for 3 sliders. We told the waiter just after he dropped off our food that it was 'eh' and he kinda just walked away. It wasn't addressed till I told him to take the untouched salad away that anything was addressed And! They had their TVs turned to 20/20 about a husband murderinf his wife. We were immediately greeted when we walked into restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated after they found our reservation. Very friendly and talkative waitstaff. I ordered a Caesar salad with my meal, but it had very little dressing and tasted flavorless. I wouldn't recommend it be purchased since it comes at an additional cost. The Calamari was okay, I had better at order restaurants. Although, the lobster fettuccine tasted good. I never had black noodles before. Our group also enjoyed the bread pudding, but it did lack the taste of bourbon (very lite). Atmosphere seemed up and many people around us appeared to be enjoying themselves. Been here several times, the first time getting a wee bit too tipsy on their amazing bloody marys lol. Overall I was not impressed by the Cask and Cork, we ordered two different types of their pies and the short ribbed sliders, and everything was sub par. None of our food really stood and I feel that if anything it was very generic and we could have gotten better pizza from making a store bought one in our oven. I had made reservations for our anniversary dinner. Made sure we would be seated in the patio and yet our of the hot sun. We arrived about 10 mins early and were told it would be ready soon. I can't really confirm exactly what happened that caused our table to not be ready, and combo of people not leaving, a little rain and perhaps seating another couple at our table. The hostess was extremely kind in apologizing for the wait. We were not in a hurry so said it was fine. After another 10 mins it sounded like we would have to continue waiting for a table or be seated in the dining room. I was hesitant as it was our first time and I really wanted to be outside. A waiter can to us in the lobby and asked if he could bring us a drink. I had a beautiful large glass of red wine he chose and waited a bit longer. Getting hungry we decided to just sit in the dining room, which was clean and quiet and nicely decorated. Our waiter, Tim was perfect! Helpful, friendly but not overbearing. I had the filet special which could not have tasted any better. My husband had prime rib that he devoured. The hostess continued to apologize and gave us a free appetizer for a future visit. We had a dessert, the delicious plain (anything but) cheesecake. What had me irritated to start the dinner was turned around by very professional customer service and fabulous food. We will be returning, soon. Hoping to sit outside the next visit, and imagine it will be wonderful too. I called for get a reservation for the wine room or any table a week in advance and they told me that only "Ashley" takes reservations for the wine room and she will be in the next day and call you when she gets in to confirm the reservation. The next day came and I got no call. I called the restaurant every day trying to confirm my reservation but Ashley was never working, the people on the phone each day told me the room was available too. I was even given her email and sent her multiple emails trying to contact her but heard nothing back. Finally the day before my event I heard back from her saying the room was booked and now they are all booked up for that time. I will never go here for a special event ever again. The reservation booking is incredibly unprofessional and unpleasant. I don't understand how only one person at a restaurant is able to take reservations. read more

The menu seems to be their attempt at a New York millennial restaurant with weird dishes and outrageous design, all for the "ambiance" I'd say. The dish I ordered was absolutely disgustingly bitter but is worded beautifully on the menu. The food took over 30+ minutes to arrive, however the staff was very catering despite this. I personally will never opt to dine here for the food as there are an insane amount of other restaurants in Amarillo with better food. On a positive note, If you're looking for a place to try new drinks, have a variety of different things to drink, this place is for you. The building is absolutely beautiful but it is not for those who cannot climb stairs or stand for long periods of time, especially since the elevator took more than 2 minutes to get from the 1st floor to the second. TL:DR - Food is subpar there is something better in Amarillo. Massive alcoholic menu, with average non-alcoholic menu. Not a place for children. Well. To make it short, this place is not worth the $$$. I went with a group of four and we made a reservation and were seated immediately. However, it took about two hours for us to get our entrees. We did order the charcuterie board for an appetizer, which had a nice variety but only had two meat options and the portions were VERY small for the $. The lobster ceviche was also not exciting. Also, it was very cold in the restaurant, and we heard several other people comment about it. This just never makes for a good experience. My group had the short ribs, filet mignon, beef tenderloin, and pork chop. My pork chop and sides were good, but it was definitely overlooked and tough in the middle. My husband's short ribs were super super rare and our friends were not overly impressed with their dishes either. If paying $30-40 per plate, I would expect it to be fantastic. I will say our drinks were really good (mules, bloody Mary's, and the gold rush), though took quite some time to get them. Bottom line: As of now, it just doesn't compete with Public House, Imperial Taproom, or BL Bistro. read more

I came here for the first time, and everything was so good! Everyone loved their dishes - spinach and goat cheese salad, pistachio crusted salmon, bison filet, grilled chicken, and short rib. Our drinks and service were awesome too. The brunch menu looked so good too, we ended up coming back the next morning for brunch! We really loved their brunch. Tyler's pancakes, eggs benedict, eggs Appalachia, and country fried steak and eggs were all very enjoyable. This is definitely a new brunch spot for sure. read more

It's evident a tremendous amount of time and effort was put into this restaurant (just wait until you walk in and see the wine room and the area that looks like a wine barrel. It really is incredible...and that's just when you first walk in...it only gets better from there). Thank you, Cask & Cork. Was really excited to try this place, as me and my wife LOVE Public House. But we were very let down. Ordered appetizers and our meal, never recieved our appetizers. My wifes salmon was far under cooked so instead of ordering another she ordered a regular house salad just so she could eat with me. Didnt receive the salad for 10-15 mins minutes. Ordered my steak medium got well done, some how the potatoes under the steak was cold. The waitress was very nice and apologetic, took the salmon and salad off our bill. We are from New York and only in town for the night so we looked for a good place to eat and found Cask & cork on line, figured, why not the photos and menu looked good. Found the place with waze as the roads here in Amarillo are a bit tricky (i know New Yorks are tricky as well). So we went in and the lovely hostess asked where we would like to sit, we settled on the ground floor bar, but found out there is a younger crowd at the upstairs bar with an outdoor rooftop area. We are old so we settled in at the lower bar area. We were met by Darrin the bartender and immediately hit it off. He was awesome and between my wife Darrin and myself came up with some amazing cocktails, i told him we recently had a jalapeno/ cucumber vodka with pickle juice and a slice of pickle, he thought that sounded great so he made one, it was excellent my wife had a summery margarita which was great . so on to dinner. I had the Thursday special of prime rib and deb had the Farfalle Alfredo both were the best meals we've had on our journey around the country in our camper, hands down. We later met Eddie, the manager as well as other wait staff and had an amazing time. between the drinks, wine, food and the folks there we loved the place. We made a reservation for 7pm and showed up 15 min early. We were seated right away. The waiter brought us water as we sat down and said he would be back to take our drink order. 5 min later he came and took our drink order and said he would be back. 10 min later he asked if we would like an appetizer and we ordered that. We waited for him to come back and take our entree order but he never did. He ignored us and barely talked to us. He was all bubbly with his other customers and took their orders even the ones that showed up after us. He never asks if my wife would like another drink. We decided if we got our appetizer before we order we could just ask for the check and go somewhere else to eat. That is what happened. We went 30 min from the time we got there to the time we got our appetizer and never did he talk to us for more than a few seconds or ask if we were doing ok until my wife asked for the check a little pissed off. I had been looking over at him periodically to give him a hint that we were ready to order and we even closed our menus. I wish we had better service because our appetizer was good and we would have stayed longer and had three courses meal and had a few drinks a piece. I was planning on spending over a $100 on dinner but didn't get to. He would of made a great tip if he treated us like we existed. If the service we received was better we would have stayed and had a great night there without taking our business else where. read more

Last night was my first time there and I sat with some friends up on the patio. It was incredible. The atmosphere is amazing; the staff is friendly, informed, and charismatic. I was beyond impressed and felt the high vibe energy up on the patio that was welcoming and fun. Love that if you're wanting a more quiet and romantic feel you can enjoy the down stairs seating area and if you're feeling more of a hip and fun vibe you can go upstairs! This is way overpriced for what you get. A true millennials dream. They have a lovely roof top bar, however, with Amarillo' weather being what it is, I'm not sure it's all that practical!
