Delicious food delivered at reasonable (not bargain) prices. Service was adequate - server's attention was surprisingly sporadic and not friendly for what one esperiences in Milwaukee (although hostess was lovely). The room was beautiful - but watch out: the mid-May sun at 6pm made a death ray striking one of our diners (me! the others felt sorry for me and offered to trade out of pity). (I'll be it gets really unpleasant in June/July.) You've probably seen recommendations to avoid the small round cafe tables along the banco on the lower section (they're pretty tiny - and Cassis serves its baguette with large plates for diners for some non-Parisian reason - so you can crowd yourself out pretty quick). Well, my recommendation is to _also_ ask to be seated out of the sun: the lovely floor-to-ceiling window onto the Riverwalk and patio appears to be untinted, has no curtains and just makes the place a greenhouse. Despite the uninterested server, I liked Cassis enough that I would return - but I would decline seating in range of the death ray.

The restaurant is tucked in a corner on the river so the views are impeccable. The terrazzo tile plus WC toilets give it a definite French feel. There are daily specials which we didn't try but they looked great with a seasonal morel tart as one of their offerings. We both had the traditional steak with frites which are cooked in beef tallow so they are extra tasty and crispy. The menu is very traditionally French and is good size but not an extreme account of options. The service was impeccable. I was meeting with an advisor and she kept checking to see when we were ready to order without being intrusive. Also the wine list has some very nice choices on it I want to come back during warm weather and sit outside on the river with a nice glad of red wine

Where to even start?!!! Walking into Cassis immediately felt the warm refreshing vibe of the riverside restaurant. Walking past the butter and baguette display was a neat way to start our dining experience, in addition the entry staff were kind and welcoming as we took our seats. Our meal was terrific, each dish had a perfect combination of flavor and craftsmanship while not leaving us feeling light and ready to try more from their menu. French bread, oysters, ravioli, and crispy chicken were all elegantly prepared and followed the same in taste. Our personal favorite was the scallop dish. The blend of flavor and lightness to it was an incredible cap on our dinner. A lovely Grenache paired well with all of our dishes. And to finish it off, the banana rum desert along with the pineapple frozen desert were perfect ways to end our night! Thank you Cassis!

We had a fantastic date night experience at Cassis. Our table was within view of the window overlooking the river. While our particular table for two was small like some had mentioned, our serving team did a great job quickly removing plates and glasses that were finished and maximizing space. The service was excellent - very attentive, very helpful, and our water glasses were never empty! Everything we ordered was perfectly timed, too. We had the baguette (sourced from Rocket Baby) with butter and the butter was perfection. We could have ordered so many dishes - everything sounded so good! We just wanted to hit a few highlights this time - the dishes we selected were light on vegetables, and we could have/should had added sides of veggies or a salad, but that was totally on us (we ordered like true Midwesterners lol). We had to try the "Instagram famous" ravioli, so we shared some of that - it's so rich, and the fresh chives really popped. It's perfect to share. For our mains we had the scallops, which were excellent, and the steak frites, also really good and cooked perfectly as ordered. We didn't save room for dessert but we saw several beautiful plates go by. It was really nice to have zero proof cocktail and beer options - I had NA version of the Le Violet cocktail and it was fantastic. The whole restaurant is beautifully decorated, spotless, and had a very chic vibe. We'll be back!

Lovely new addition to Milwaukee! My girlfriends and I dined here on a Monday night and damn was it packed. Completely did not expect that but hey, it says a good a thing about this place. The vibes, the ambiance, the thoughtfully curated decor and furniture... all of it was great. I said to my friends it felt like we were on vacation, or dining out of town somewhere. The riverfront location is the icing on the cake. Our server was sweet and took great care of us. Drinks were ordered and delivered in a quick succession. I went for the le violet, which was a gin-elderflower cocktail. Thoroughly enjoyed. Who doesn't love French cuisine? Cue the baguette and butter immediately. The rest of the menu has a nice array of selections. You can go the small lates route to share a handful of items, or stick to the entrees. Collectively, we all *needed* to try to ravioli dish so we got that to share, and otherwise had our own main dishes. I found the roasted chicken to be super tasty. It was drenched in an herb jus of sorts (i.e. drippings of the roasted meat and herbs like thyme and rosemary perhaps?) - a very good dish overall. Though I really wish it was accompanied by a side. Even just a simple vegetable. Luckily, my friends had the burger and steak, which came with frites, so I snagged some of those! Because it was my friend's birthday, we ended the night a dessert-some kind of banana creme layered situation. I can't recall the name but ooof we liked it. I'll certainly look forward to returning for another experience!

This is such a beautiful spot! The food was to die for and unique, my friends and I wanted to try the whole menu! The Oeuf Mayo (deviled eggs) were surprisingly delicious! Super flavorful. The second app we got was the shrimp en marinade, y'all... I could've eaten ten more of these. We obviously got the bread and butter, which is a must here. For my entree I got the ravioli, which was absolutely amazing. The sauce was rich, but perfect. For my drink, I got the Le Violet, which is hands down my favorite cocktail in MKE. For dessert, we got Opera cake and I'm so glad we did. I don't know how I'll ever pass that one up. The service was great, our waiter was witty! Highly recommend!

Finally made it to Cassis with some friends for a weeknight dinner. The restaurant had a beautiful, welcoming feel to it and all of the staff were very kind. We shared a few appetizers including the Oeuf Mayo (eggs), bread, and Shrimp en Marinade; I really liked how fresh tasting the ingredients were and thoroughly enjoyed the unique flavors of each app. I also tried the ravioli Dauphine which is served in an herb butter sauce. The dish was so delicious and although very filling , I do think it could be nice if served w/ a veggie side. We decided to finish with dessert; our waiter recommended the opera cake. 10/10 recommend it to any coffee lovers! I'm excited to visit Cassie's again to try some other menu items- definitely recommend trying out!

I'm going to give Cassis a 4.5/5 stars! This newly opened french spot is beautiful, stunningly curated and the atmosphere feels very sophisticated. The standout bites of the night included: - French bread and butter, the butter had a slight salt to it that was just right - French fries, perfectly tiny and crispy, they've mastered the art of the fry here - Ravioli Dauphine - we all wanted to try this so we ordered it as table ravioli and we all found ourselves reaching for more We all got entires as well, myself the l'Hamburger which was great, but not sure if it's good or bad that the french fries and bread were the standouts. While the meal and vibes were lovely, there were a few areas where the experience didn't quite hit the "luxury" mark I expected. First, the tables are quite small. For a multi course meal with cocktails and water glasses, it felt like a game of Tetris trying to keep everything on the table. Anddddd the celebration factor, we were celebrating my best friends birthday - and sadly that went largely unacknowledged. When dining at a high-end establishment those "little extras" - a tiny glass of champagne or a small sweet treat on the house - really elevates the experience from a standard dinner to a memorable event. I would recommend Cassis for a stylish date night or fun dinner with a small group of friends. However if you are looking for a "special occasion" destination where you'll be pampered for a big milestone, this might not be my first choice until they lean a bit more into those hospitable finishing touches. A great new addition to the local food scene, I'm curious to see how they evolve!!

Great location, great vibes, and genuinely great service. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they were especially kind to our toddler - they even have a small box of toys for kids, which immediately made us feel at ease. We felt wonderful throughout the entire dinner. The food: the menu isn't huge, but it's thoughtfully curated, covering small plates along with both protein and vegetarian entrées. Presentation across the board was solid and elegant. Our only consistent issue was that several dishes leaned a bit too salty for our taste - specifically the escargot, pork sausage, and ravioli. The croque monsieur was an interesting twist: made with cured ham placed on top, it eats more like a very indulgent grilled cheese with ham. Flavorful and creative, though again on the saltier side due to the cured meat. That said, the French cheese with bread and the opera cake were standouts - absolutely delicious and well-balanced. Overall, expectations were high given the buzz, and while there's a bit of room to fine-tune seasoning as they ramp up, we would definitely come back. A promising new spot with great hospitality and a lot of potential.

Food was very good but there were some critiques. For appetizers, we got a few things and they were all very delicious. The bread and butter was spot on! Steak frites was bland. I think it could have used more salt and pepper but the crispy fries, the perfect cook on the meat and sauce saved the dish. Scallops were very good and cooked perfectly. Service was good. Our server had a few hiccups (brought us the wrong bottle of wine and knocked a few things over) but was very friendly. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside.

Classic New York and Paris vibes in downtown Milwaukee! The restaurant is gorgeous with a beautiful bar and cute tables! We were seated by the windows and got to enjoy the views of the river. The staff were all so friendly and made some great recommendations on the menu. We got a baguette and butter to start, the butter was so creamy and salty. We skipped other appetizers, though they all sounded delicious. We got the Pork Sausage Crepinette, Ravioli Dauphine, and some Pommes Frites with lemon rosemary aioli. everything was SO good, can't recommend enough! The ravioli had a beautiful cheesy taste with the fresh pasta and I loved the shoestring fries with the lemony aioli. Would definitely get it all again! For dessert we split the Millefeuille a la banane, with creamy mousse and rummy caramel. We can't wait to be back and try more! Everything was so good!

Lovely place, fast service, upscale ambiance perfect for a date night. The drinks and food were delicious, the ravioli and the opera cake dessert were the highlights of our dinner.

I got here early to meet a friend for dinner and it was super easy to get a seat at the bar. I was really impressed with the cocktail du jour and they have a pretty solid happy hour menu. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL and feels exactly like a French bistro with a modern twist. The seating is super cozy. Our waitress was also excellent and very attentive. We got the bread & butter and the fromage which were great starters. I love that there is a bread station in the middle of the dining room with a mountain of butter! For the main course, I had the Ravioli Dauphine which was melt in my mouth delicious and the chives are the perfect balance of freshness. My friend had the beef cheek which was super rich but delicious, though the mustard/horseradish toppings didn't seem to go with the dish. We split the Tarte Tropézienne for dessert and it was lovely and not too sweet. Definitely recommend for catching up with friends or a cozy date night, but leave some time for street parking.

We stopped here after dinner, so we stuck mostly with the cocktails. Unfortunately, nothing on the seasonal menu really stuck out to me. I stuck with the "traditional" cocktails (spicy watermelon bubblegum, and then banana daiquiri). Hubs went for the halo halo food (which was so cute! All the typical ingredients but served in cubist fashion), and the paired drink. The paired drink was supposed to have different layers of flavor, but they all mixed together quite a bit. Tasty, just not the "layered" experience we thought. I think they almost do themselves a disservice comparing themselves to the aviary - that is a crazy high bar to meet. Granted, maybe we would have been more impressed if we had more of the seasonal cocktails despite them not seeming interesting? Probably wouldnt go out of my way to go here again, but it is a cool vibe and the cocktails were good.

One of the cheese on our plate was the espresso version of Bellavitano, which happens to be one of my favorites, so that was a nice little bonus for me. In addition to the board, we also went with the ricotta bites, which featured one sweet and one savory option, both of which we also really liked. The shop is cozy and if this was somewhere that I lived walking distance from, I could totally see myself coming here fairly regularly and having a little cheese and ambiance. During our time there we saw both couples on dates and old friends gathering for a drink and a nosh, all of which I found just wonderful.
