My whole life I've always had anxiety to go to the dentist. Not from fear, but pure uncomfortableness. Ive always believed that local anesthesia has never worked on me. In past visits, with other dental offices, I've always felt everything they've done in my mouth, but knowing that things had to be done, I just took the pain. Dr. James was patient, and allowed the medication to work properly before he would do any work to my teeth. In my 47 years of living, that's the first time I left a dental office with no pain. DO NOT GO TO THE CASTELO CLINIC My family has been going to this dentist for 5+ years and we wouldn't even know that they have been charging us more (for years!) for what we get treatment for, if not for a friend of ours who is also a dentist. We noticed this only once before and have already told them, but they just told us that should we just move on and let them charge our insurance because (they said) we owe it to them since they have been our dentist for years. Additionally, they have been incompetent in performing implants. We had to go there multiple times to get the teeth fixed and even had some infections due to procedures that they clearly have no idea how to do! This clinic does not deserve their current 4 1/2 stars. They just have nice staff members and can do simple procedures. If you were ever to go here, just do a simple cleaning. Don't say yes to any procedures that they offer to do! And make sure to check your insurance statement after, to make sure you didn't get overcharged. read more

I went to dr Castelo to get my usual cleaning, check how my teeth were doing, etc. They ended up giving me a comprehensive analysis of my teeth that said that all my teeth had serious cavities, that my gums were receding and I was going to lose my teeth at any time! They changed all my fillings on the left side of my face using very heavy antesthesia. Then, Dr Castelo damaged on my tooth nerves. She changed my filling about three or four times, it's been almost a year and my nerve still hurts!! I cannot bite on that tooth anymore. She sent me to an endodontist and turns out I didn't have an infection or anything. In the end I got tired of trying to fix my tooth, that was completely fine before going to them. I went to another dentist, who looked at the X-rays that dr castelo did for me. The other dentist said my teeth were completely fine, that I didn't need any filling change in the first place!! Also, that my gums were totally fine!! I don't recommend this place. I never chronic pain in my teeth ever before!! Now I am stuck with if because of Dr Castelo. Don't go to her, they only want to take advantage of your dental insurance, and will try to take all the money they take off of you. read more

My experience at this dental office may be the best I've ever received in terms of experience. Dr. Castelo is such a kind, patient, and open minded person that genuinely cares about his patients. You can always tell the difference between the people that genuinely care and those that don't. I went about 6 times to have all of my cavities filled after a bad experience with Invisalign and the level of professionalism and care shown was immeasurable. My teeth are good as new. My Teeth were totally messed up and I have underbite.I've been to different dentists and spent thousand of dollars, but none of them able to help me with my dental problems. My previous dentist referred me to Dr virginia Castelo and Dr James Castelo. They provided me with excellent dental care and the result are wonderful. They both take time to explain what needs to be done and came up with the dental treatment based on my current condition. I had my clear correct for 18 months and I can see the results are phenomenal. I would not hesitate to recommend them to everyone. Dr Virginia and Dr James Castelo are very pleasant and awesome personality. I feel so fortunate that I've found a dentists who makes my experience so much better. I had not been to a dentist for over ten years. I started to experience tooth pain in my back molars. Having just gotten insurance again, I looked around for a dentist and found Dr. Castelo on Yelp. I have to say I didn't really know what to expect as I've gotten most of my doctors and dentists through referrals. But, I must admit, I will never go to another dentist now that I've met the Castelos. Dr. Jim Castelo took care of my problems, and was PAIN FREE, ever though I had to have a couple of molar extractions. He was informative, explained to me all of my options clearly so that I could understand what was available to me, he was patient, and made me feel quite comfortable during the procedures. And, he has a great sense of humor! There is no Beverly Hills dentist that even compares to this dentist. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Castelo and his staff, and office to get your dental work done!
