Ate here with my husband a week ago. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. The restaurant was clean and we were able to easily find a seat. The portions were plentiful and the prices were great. The food was just okay. The chicken was a bright red color, I suppose from the seasoning. I've never seen chicken that color. It was also very dry. The rice had very little flavor. The falafel was decent. I really wanted to like this place as we have few healthy options in Mebane but I don't think I'll go back. The food was unbelievable, the restaurant spotless and the owner and staff friendly and efficient. The Shawarma and Gyro were stuffed full and so flavorful....best I have had outside of the Middle East. Do not leave without ordering the Mujadara lentil, rice and caramelized onion dish. The Hummus was top shelf and they had a jalapeño and cilantro hummus variant that was awesome. This place is located about a half mile off I-85 in Mebane Exit 153. I used to stop here when traveling to hit Smithfield BBQ. Those days are over. No way i will pass this exit without making this my new regular lunch or dinner stop. My sides were Greek salad, taboulah and hummus. Husband's sides were rice, taboulah and jalapeno hummus. We both agreed that Castle has the best Med food we have ever eaten. What a find this place is! And I live in Durham, where the Mediterranean options are plentiful. An unpretentious eatery with counter ordering. Kebab platters are generous and served with rice or salad and two sides. The Greek dressing on the salad is like a thin tzatziki and delicious. The lamb kofta kebab was tasty and not at all dry. But the real stars here are the hummus and oh my goodness, the grape leaves!! Even at upscale Mediterranean restaurants, grape leaves tend to be a sodden mess filled with limp rice. Not at Castle. here, grape leaves are plump and solid, generously filled with al dente rice, seasoned with a perfect balance of olive oil, lemon, and mint. These are life-changing grape leaves. You'll never settle for soggy grape leaves again. And the hummus is perfectly seasoned, silky, and served with a generous amount of conventional pocket pita. With a great location literally seconds off of I-85 exit 153 in Mebane, it's worth ducking off no matter where you're headed and check this place out. read more

Came in for late lunch on a Saturday. Went to the front to order and pay. We were very hungry so we ordered 2orders of the Family platter. Extra shrimp and Baklava. The platter contained Chicken, beef and Kofta. We had 4choices which was Babaganoush, Tzaziki, Taboula and Fatiush. Rice and salad was the choices to accompany the meats. Everything was very tasty. They were very nice and when we tried to order a salad he suggested to just choose one rice and one salad since food was a lot already. We ordered a ton of different items last night for dinner and EVERYTHING was delicious and the owners/staff are SO nice!! The Kofta kabobs were UNBELIEVABLE! I travel a lot and I can tell you it's as good as the kofta in Turkey and the lamb & beef gyro was as good as it is in Turkey. They had a huge amount of different sides! All delicious! And FYI the basmati rice is awesome! I hate rice that's bland... this is fantastic! So happy that Mebane got a great new restaurant!!! read more

OK, this was our second time eating here it's gotten much better. The first time was good but we could taste the difference and, this time, everything was incredible. Both times got the Al Basha, family platter, though this time portions were larger and it had this great charcoal grilled flavor. The same with the baba ganoush, it had this really great Smokey flavor like the eggplant was roasted over charcoal. We used to live in Raleigh and loved the Neomonde deli on Hillsborough. We were missed it but but now we have a first rate replacement. And don't forget to try the falafel. You can't go wrong eating here. read more

We truly enjoyed dining at this remarkable restaurant. We split the gyros platter and the Al Basha kabob platter. The Basmati rice was a wonderful surprise of flavor. The kabobs we cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The Greek salad was excellent. Their tzatziki, hummus and Mujadara rice were all refreshingly perfect. The pita's grilled on just one side added the crisp and soft experience you crave in warm pita's. We took home enough for an entire additional meal because their portions are large. We have enjoyed some of the best Mediterranean food West of the Atlantic in little Greek town in Chicago before moving South to NC. This is truly in our top 3 BEST Greek Restaurants. read more

The food is amazing I must say. But the customer service can use some help. This is not a place where the customer is always right even if they are right. The prices are very inconsistent. You can go Monday and pay 25 bucks and order the same thing a week later and pay 37.55. I asked if they could take something off because the price changed and they were clearly not happy stating it was already on the grill. To avoid any problems I went ahead and paid but it will be a while before I return. Again the food is really good I just wish there customer service matched. read more

Twice they forgot something, another time we asked for salad and got rice, and most recently the chicken curry was prepared differently and tasted different no curry taste. Customer service was absolutely terrible. They made our food wrong and we asked them to fix it the man argues back and forth with us on what the menu says is on it. We clearly stated that we asked for none of that to be on it the man continues to argue back and forth with us and basically was trying to refuse to remake it. After going back and forth he finally remakes it but has and attitude the whole time throwing his hands around while remaking the food with an attitude. When he is done he just throws it on the counter and walks away. Then we look at the food again and he doesn't even put the sauce on it. The lack of customer service is sad. Remember it maybe your business but it's our money and without our money you can't stay in business. Keep that in consideration when you want argue with paying customers. read more

I would recommend asking more garlic sauce for the best experience. Prices are good. We found this place during the lean times of the pandemic, so I'm real happy they have survived and are doing well. I usually get the beef and lamb gyro, which for the same price is better than any burger anywhere, with a side of grape leaves or roast cauliflower. I've also tried the kabobs, which were freshly cooked and juicy. The service is always excellent and the place clean and inviting. read more

The baba ghanouj had just the right amount of smokiness and on the fresh pita bread was so delicious. The tzatziki was so perfect with the cauliflower salad and chicken kabob.
