Broke my instrument cluster, worked when I got there as they wrote down the mileage. After they reset the oil life he pushed so hard it broke the circuit board and I had no working odometer! This place is great! My girlfriends and I were driving to Joshua Tree National Park. All of the sudden, we heard something from our car rental, sounded like we were dragging something. Turns out it was a cover of the engine underneath the car. Our rental was a Hyundai Genesis, apparently this cover detaches easily and it's a well know problem. Luckily this place was a couple miles from where we noticed the noise and understood what was happening. They reattached it no problem, they ended up zip tying it, quick fix. They didn't charge us. I stopped taking my last car here for oil changes because the last time I took it for one the service guy advised me that the threads on the oil pan were damaged. This was the only place I had been bringing my car for years. That was about 3 years ago. Even so, I took my current car here for a smog test. The guy kept getting a code OBDII. So I took it over to Smog Dog where it passed. The good part is that there was no charge for the failure to pass. read more

My wife went on July 18 to get an oil change, on top of it being $90 for a four-cylinder car. They damage my air intake hose and reported it as already damaged prior to arrival. They never showed it to her and save their butts from them, damaging my parts. Sorry. After reading reviews of this place, I believed it would be a great place for my vehicle to be serviced. Instead, although there appeared to be three workers on duty when arrived, not one of them came out to let me know how long I might have to wait. There were cars in both bays, eventually, one of them was done and the owner drived off. I waited a little more. And, then, when none of the staff came to let me know the status of things, I left. Honestly, the first impression thing, good customer service, I didn't have the experience other reviewers have expressed. It's a shame, truly, because supporting local business is important to me. Friendly service. Yes, we had to wait a little bit for them to acknowledge us, but they were busy and focused on the car ahead of us. No big deal. When they did acknowledge us they asked what we needed and told us it would be a few more minutes. The staff is friendly, they work well together, and communicate clearly between the staff above and below. They have safe communication and repeat back to each other clearly. Rafael is super friendly and wants to please the customers; his is also funny. They even helped us reprogram our computer for oil check reminder. read more

Rant rant rant to this place!! Never any good has happened to me at this business. First mistake with them was my dodge that got an oil change, then they cracked my oil coolant system & wouldn't fix it after I took it back the next day to show them what they did. My car had NEVER leaked oil until after they did my oil change. Gave them another chance on my Ford (that they previously did before) too have them tell me that they can't take off the metal skid plate that I have (but they were able to do it last time?) so I took it to my husband & had it taken off within 5 minutes. Then I realized they didn't even close my hood all the way & was driving around like that. Don't trust them with your vehicle. Very careless & rude employees! read more

Very nice and all but I went there they said they could not get the oil filter off. Well there exact words who did I piss off. They said it was on so tight that they would break It by trying to loosen it. I was advise to take it to where I got it done last time so they can deal with it. I went to the place I went to the last time I told them the situation and the guy removed it within 3 seconds from his electric tool very simple. Like many people I am here from out of town. The service here was Outstanding, courteous, and very very thorough. Jonathan did an outstanding job. The put 6.5 quarts of Full Synthetic oil, changed filter, checked all the fluids, added coolant, checked the tire pressure, etc... I was extremely happy with the service. read more

Another business that has zero customer service! Another automotive oriented shop that has issues with women. Or possibly anyone with more knowledge than the little man behind the counter, which has no name at least not that he announced or was it obvious. I can't tell you how the service was as it never happened. And honestly if i had read the reviews 1st I am glad they never touched my car. Belittling little man in the shop that claims to be the owner seriously asked me if I had ever changed the fluid in my car. Considering it now has 188000 miles on it and if the case based on this car never changing the fluid I doubt I would be driving it today. I told him to stop belittling me and asked if I had never changed the transmission fluid in my car what color would it be? He had a look on his face that was priceless. I asked if he was serious. He said i would be surprised how many people dont. Well, im not them. He didn't answer the question about the fluid. Meanwhile he has other customers sitting in his waiting room listening to this. He acted like a donkey.. in front of regular customers. Not to smart at all. But i did answer his question. Yes and I have a 3 ring binder with every service ever done to my car. Keep in mind these people are not mechanics. Not a single person in that building is ASE certified. They have course completion awards on their wall. I took pictures of to see who the actual owner is. Not the little man that has issues with women or maybe the entire world idk. I guess i didnt have sucker written on my forhead. So sad. But this is Yucca Valley. I would have gone to my normal place however I wanted a complete fluid exchange. And in the event the owner reads this, I was getting my fluid flushed because of the high heat for 3 weeks solid, I off road a significant portion of my driving time. So my fluids usually get changed around 10000 miles in the summer. One of the reasons I still have a working in good shape transmission in my car. Oh and yes I run the Lucas additive since your shop sells the oil additive maybe you want to learn the benefits of it from your Lucas dealer, especially for a high mileage transmission. But I am sure this will be ignored as well. Shame on you for being so disrespectful. It wasn't just you everyone in that shop. And I have a picture of one of the oil changers laughing as you all thought it was funny to offend and upset a woman. People need to realize that not everyone is stupid and women actually do know cars. These days more than men. I would avoid this place if I would have seen the reviews before I would never have went there. Thank you for wasting my time. I was told by the little man I was wasting his time. They are not ever busy. I knew there was a reason I always just drove past it. But it was well worth it. Avoid this crap business at all cost. They are not serious about what they do. I hurried down there, but when I asked about the price, they asked me who told me that. They quoted me about $20 more, and said that I needed a physical coupon for the deal. Along with the oil change I asked them to please check the transmission fluid on my 1985 toyota van. After performing the oil change, I paid $46 and they promptly pulled my vehicle out of the service bay and said "here you go." So I asked, "how was the transmission fluid?" This is what they said- "Well, it's so low we can't even get a reading on the dipstick. Your van uses Dextrona transmission fluid which maybe you could find at a specialty transmission shop, none of the autoparts stores around here carry it any longer, it was discontinued long ago. You probably can't get it anywhere in the valley. It was not a busy day. Mine was the only vehicle in the bay and this was the best answer the crew could come up with. After a quick google search I see there's no such thing as Dextrona transmission fluid. I then go down the street to my very good mechanic Ty (Diamond Automotive) and we pulled the dipstick. It says right on the dipstick DextronII. A quart was added and down the road I go. Dear Castrol Premium Lube Express, IF YOUR ENTIRE BUSINESS IS CHECKING AND CHANGING AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ A DIPSTICK WITHOUT FAIL. After 3 years of taking our 4 vehicles to Castrol they have managed to completely lose our confidence, we will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

Robert thanks for the great customer service! I had originally gone to Smog Dog across the street. There was no one at front desk and three people were waiting and no one had seen anyone. At 104 degrees the waiting room was hot and run down. Not knowing when anyone was going to come from the back I called Castrol Premium Lube Express and spoke to Robert who said they could get me in soon. I drove the couple blocks and there was this nice new building. Robert came immediately out to my car and asked if I had just called and said he was sincerely sorry but his smog guy was out to lunch and would be back shortly. I said my friend had followed me and we would run some errands. When we went inside the waiting room appeared very comfortable and cool so it would not have been a problem to wait. I found the staff to be very personable and friendly. The car passed without problems and was a deal at $55. I will be taking my car back for an oil change next week. Tired of being ripped off by businesses that take advantage. Sent a car to be smogged here. I had replaced the battery in the last couple days and took it to be smogged at another location. They had the courtesy to tell me that it needed to be driven 6o miles to reset the computer. I put over 100 miles on it so I figured that was enough to reset the computer. I had a buyer for the vehicle, so I needed the smog done asap. Unfortunately the honest business was booked and I had no choice but to take it here. Hooked it up,at which point they knew it would not pass as the computer had still not reset. Charged me full price for the failed test and sent my daughter on her way telling her to drive it at least 60 more miles and bring it back for a re-test. I don't expect anything for free, but Customer service has been completely abandoned by shysters and crooks who will steal you blind at every opportunity. This is one of those businesses!! read more
