I just so happen to be working up the street when I had noticed a puddle of coolant underneath my car. I was very concerned, so I stopped at the closest auto repair I could find. Woods auto repair was the one I stopped at! They seen that I was having an emergency and offered to help me asap! My upper radiator hose had busted. They were able to help me right away, and the price wasn't too bad either. My car ended up having worse issues that caused the radiator hose to bust. But I do appreciate the fact that they helped me the way they did. They replaced the hose and had me on my way. Also helped me understand the issues my car was having. They made it easier for me to let the dealership know exactly what was going on and what needed to be fixed. Thank God for warranties! Overall I was very satisfied with the services they offered. My 2003 Tacoma required its Smog Cert. I went to the experienced WOODS Auto Repair. Carson and Carson jr. know automobiles. They worked with me today to get my sensor monitors to register in the System so it would pass. It finally registered ALL the emission sensors after coming and going 4 times today. They were kind enough to test it each time. Not many busy Mechanics would bother. I might add it passed! Carson Jr. has a great sense of humor too! Amazing service! We needed our radiator replaced and they got it done next day! We were on vacation and called about 7 different auto shops to see if anyone was available to help us out since our check out time was 11 the next day, everyone else turned us down or didn't answer the phone. I took my Dodge diesel truck to Woods to check out the clutch peddle not quite connecting very easily to the electrical ignition switch. It also had the "check engine" light on. They hooked up the computer and told me what it said while also resetting the warning light. They don't work on Diesel engines, so told me they were done. We went to pick it up and pay for the service rendered and they said "No charge!" !!!! Now THAT is customer service and the best PR I could imagine! we very much appreciate their kind consideration and I do have regular cars that will be bringing to them down the road!! read more

Quite DISAPPOINTED. They came recommended..here's my complaint. I have a vintage Ford Van, in good shape that needs factory a/c fixed. So I drive in, get out and open the hood. A man comes out of the office...I say Good Afternoon, my name's Dave and reach out to shake his hand...He looks at me ..with a look that just tells (no thanks) makes no attempt & puts his hands in his pockets then sternly and unenthusiasticlly says "What do you want?" I say , there's a few things I'd like to do to this van , but 1st I'd like to rebuild the a/c setup so it works. He's says "We DONT work on these OLD Fords" He then immediately without asking about the other things I wanted done, turned around and walked into his office and shut the door behind him. Perhaps they were having a rough day, who knows but a 1st time customer viewing such a attitude I can do without. This is something I could do myself ,but thought I'd give Woods some new buissness. I'm in my 50s and gearhead and a veteran ..doesn't make me better but I know how to be a gentleman and start off a good working relationship. This was certainly NOT the way to do do. This is the 1st and only chance they will ever have to get my business..a man who does not reach out and shake a hand, and is rude, well...that kind of tells you all you need to know. This was a recommended place. But as much as I wanted them to be the guys, I was unfortunately disappointed. The work I had them look at was either rejected (even though they claim to be a Jasper dealer) and they couldn't come up with a permanent fix after a few attempts with air conditioner issues, and about $800.00. An other Garage, did find the underlying problem in one attempt for $193.00 including diagnoses, in less than a day, that permanently fixed the issues. I just don't have the time and money for none thorough work and experiments. The customer service person was on spot. The mechanics were mediocre at best, explaining the issues at hand. read more

Had my daughter's air conditioner and my car's air conditioner rebuilt here. They only gave a three month warranty. My daughter's a/c began making noise within the 3 month period and she took it in. They fixed it and in less than a year my daughter's a/c broke. Also in less than a year my a/c broke after having been rebuilt by Woods. I asked an auto a/c guy what would cause both of our a/cs to break in less than a year and he told me they must be using inferior parts. One can only speculate. But it is awfully weird that both a/cs needed to be completely rebuilt and they both didn't last a year. I had my a/c rebuilt again at a good a/c shop and it's lasted well over a year. The shop gave a year warranty. My experience at Wood's after being charged over$4000 for both a/cs to be fixed that didn't last a year made me never want to trust them again. It was an expensive lesson. What kind of shop only warranties their work for 3 months? That's one summer and you may not be able to tell it's failed again during cooler weather. read more

Smog your vehicle here! When I called to make an appointment it was easy to get a hold of someone. They got me in for a smog appointment pretty quickly, Like the next day. Our appointment for smog was on time and took just a little over a half hour. Which was the estimate that the woman in the office gave us. That location is nice because you can drop your car off and then walk to Frontier for a coffee and or snack and if you still have time check out the Antique shops. When we walked back to the shop after visiting old town our car was being pulled out of the garage and the technician told us that our vehicle is ready we walked into the office and our paperwork was ready to go just pay and sign. The price was one of the better prices in the basin. This is smog star Station transferred the data to the state immediately. I was able to go home and finish my registration online with the smog already uploaded from the shop.I will definitely be smoging my vehicles here from now on. read more

Moved to Yucca Valley a little more than a year ago, and find myself riding on sand washboard roads often. As a result, a couple bolts that stabilizes my front splitter on my SUV stripped. Woods was able to come up with a solution where that may never happen again! A new part would've cost over $400, and Woods repaired it better than new for $60! Whether you need a simple oil change, there are weird noises coming out of your car, or your A/C breaks in the middle of summer, Woods Auto can fix it and fix it properly. I only picked Woods Auto because it's a few blocks away. I was warn not to go there. Unreliable and high priced. They charged us $1100.00 and my brakes aren't working properly, it still leaks gas and now it struggles to start. I called them and explained to the receptionist the problems. She gave me an appointment but it had to be after the holiday. I had no choice. So, I accepted. I get there on the 8th at 7am as instructed and the old man flipped through the paperwork and said, I wasn't in there. Lol The other guy took it for a drive and told me nothing was wrong with my car but I can make an appointment to check it out. Omg, unbelievable So, I have to psy again for them to check it. $1100.00 thrown out the window! read more

I was visiting the area in Nov. 2018, when the clutch on my '97 Ford Ranger started giving up the ghost. By a stroke of good luck, the local Ford dealer referred me to Woods Auto Repair. Woods turned out to be great. They were able to order and install a new clutch quickly and send me on my way. The service was friendly. The price was reasonable. Family owned...very honest and wonderful (to deal with) mechanics and humans. Moved to the desert and had my a/c start blowing warm air - was told at American tire it's the compressor and over $500 just to order new a/c kit ? No thanks -felt a bit shady - Woods came highly recommended -luckily someone cancelled their appt so they were able to inspect my Jeep right away. They continued to repair it for under 100 in less than an hour. Woods knew right away that the Jeep A/C was already looked at - the compressor originally couldn't even get a read ?! It was a fuse and needed Freeon but seriously makes ya wonder about the intentions of other people. I also found full AC KIT on amazon for $170 not over $500? Trusting a mechanic is like trusting a dentist. I found my new garage and they are locals for almost 40 years - Jeep is blowing the cold air again and it feels awesome !
