After my car was smog checked, this Prince told me, no insisted, I take my car to be checked or risk a complete system failure. That's the nice way of saying you are in grave danger. When my mechanic described what might have happened had I not come in, the pushing up daises image comes to mind (as well as my truck hurtling head over heals into space). I will be forever grateful to Smoggy's until the day I die (which is now a later date). They'll have all four of my vehicles from now on. Oh, and the customer ahead of me probably feels the same way. Mark, the guy that runs this place, does not do a visual inspection to let you know whether you might fail or not before starting the test. Stay away if you have a muddy cat. Or do his job for him, clean your cat before going. We have gotten our 1996 Jeep XJ smogged 2-3x here at this very same shop since we've lived in the desert (6yrs) and this year he decided to fail the Jeep with the same catalytic converters it's had for 10 years! Never failed smog before. He couldn't be bothered to use a green sponge to clean off the catalytic converters encrusted with mud. How Lazy can you be! Generally, he has a bad attitude towards customers. It's a mix of arrogance marked with superficial friendliness. We went home and cleaned up the cat and took it back to him. He admitted that they were the right numbers after all and that the cat was legal and fine, but he refused to test the car again. Now my car has a failed smog test on its record all because this person couldn't be bothered to clean off a bit of mud. DON'T GO HERE!!!!

Woods auto repair was the one I stopped at! They seen that I was having an emergency and offered to help me asap! My upper radiator hose had busted. They were able to help me right away, and the price wasn't too bad either. My car ended up having worse issues that caused the radiator hose to bust. But I do appreciate the fact that they helped me the way they did. They replaced the hose and had me on my way. Also helped me understand the issues my car was having. They made it easier for me to let the dealership know exactly what was going on and what needed to be fixed. Thank God for warranties! Overall I was very satisfied with the services they offered. Tucked away at the end of some auto related businesses along 29 Palms Highway, I ran across this place after finding out the first smog shop I went to had a broken machine. Needing a smog instantly I drove down Hwy 62 until I saw the smog sign for Autosmiths. They were cheaper for a smog test than the first place I was hoping to go to. Also there was no wait. So less than 30 minutes later I was out the door with a smog certificate in hand. You don't get the feeling you are going to be ripped off here.

I'm not sure who worked on my car but it's running great. My mileage is up between 35 and 40 mpg I do have a hybrid. All the value of what they do is so much better than the dealership because they're actually looking at the car each individual car. At the dealership, you don't have a choice they don't speak to you. They don't listen to your concerns about your vehicle they treat every car the same at the dealer. Second, I took my 2013 jeep wrangler with 82,000 miles to this shop for the dreaded lifter tick. I dropped off on a Wednesday afternoon ahead of my appointment that coming Monday. By Friday late morning, they called to tell me what needed to be done and the cost. By late Tuesday morning it was finished. It was there almost a week but it was completed in 2 days.. not counting the weekend. It wasn't cheap but they fixed what I needed. Btw... the cost was on par for what I had expected Great! I had originally taken to another local shop a couple weeks prior which they claimed they don't have the tools To fix the tick. But they had no peoblem taking 1500 to fix another issue.
