    ITALIAN SANDWICH
    Patty A.

First time customer, not sure if I'll be back. Ordered an Italian sandwich, it was lackluster, not much flavor. My son did love the pepperoni/onion calzone. The staff (Juan & Brandon) were so nice, Brandon even feeds the pigeons that hang out by the door! BTW, the bathroom is Very small, efficient & got the cutest sign above the commode!

Tonight for dinner we decided to skip cooking and go out instead. I've had this pizza place saved on my YELP for a minute now that I had saved from a reel or TikTok video I saw. At first glance we arrived just after 5pm and the place was empty. Good for us since we could sit anywhere we wanted to. Nice decor on the walls. It kinda had the same vibe as Buonos pizza in long beach. An old school authentic new York Italian kinda feel to it. Overall the place was very clean. After looking over the menu we decided to go with a special 18" pizza, chicken wings plain, lasagna, meatball appetizer, and some extra marinara sauce for dipping any crust if needed. Brandon was a one man army tonight and did an amazing job. He practically single handedly had all of our orders ready, hot and on the table in less than an hour. Great job bud. The meatballs i was expecting to be bigger. They were still delicious. The sauce...OMG THE SAUCE! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. It was thick and so homemade kinda flavor. The lasagna was next and it too did not disappoint. Right from the first bite you taste the ricotta cheese. Very hot and filled with flavor. I ordered plain chicken wings because I can't do spicy anymore. They were good. I just wish they had larger orders because I love me some chicken wings . Now the pizza...it was perfect. I could only have two slices it had so much toppings on it. It was just right for this evening's dinner. Still had plenty leftovers for lunch tomorrow . Final call and Overall review...definitely coming back here for some great food. Besides...we still have to try the subs . Highly recommend to anyone looking for good pizza and Italian dishes. Great job Brandon and Juan.

They block most of the seats so best to do a take out

Mom and pop pizza shop. Friendly owner took our order and was just great we have a small business that is providing good food to the community! They said they were affected by the pandemic but also now it's hard to find waiters in this inflated economy. So most of the seats are blocked with pizza boxes but they are open so don't worry. The catalano's pizza had lots of toppings and the pizza was great. My toddler also liked it (she just picked out the pepperoni). I saw the 24" pizza challenge but I saw the pizza box and can't believe someone actually ate it all!! Actually don't know if they do it any more because most of the seats are closed but you can ask...

I got the 15" Catalano special pizza. If you love cheese, you'll love this pizza. The ingredients tasted fresh. It had pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, olives, onions and bell peppers. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I drove about 30 minutes back to San Gabriel Valley and by the time I got home, the pizza was still hot. Before this, I had Thai food at LB Thai food. The pizza was so good that I ate 2 slices and tempted to eat a 3rd slice. The location is in a small plaza next to a Dollar Tree. This is a local mom and pop's hole in the wall pizza joint. Love the interior decorations. The owner is so sweet! I was a little shy, it was freezing in north LB around 8pm on a Saturday night lol.

So I've been sitting here this morning trying to think of words to describe Catalano's Pizza let me start by saying my friends and I are here from Columbus Ohio that's right Go Bucks and we leave today for our cruise to Cabo so last night we decided early on we would do pizza for dinner so my task is always to research and find the best place to eat at first glance on yelp I knew Catalano's would be my pick but to be fair I still look at a few others and of course read reviews to see what the city had to say about each place after about 2 hours sitting by the pool reading and looking at pics I stayed with my first choice and MAN LET ME TELL YOU hands down absolutely amazing DA BOMB.COM and yes I am certified to say that cause I was born and raised in Chicago and everyone knows we have the best pizza lol when I called I let the gentleman on the phone know we were not from around here so make sure send us the best and when I say they brought their A Game each pies was piping hot the cheese pull on these pizza's had us going crazy each bite the flavors of this deliciousness was like a party on the inside of our mouths then to take it up another notch they sent us this amazing chocolate chip cookie pie on the house with the sweetest special note on it just had us going crazy each bite so if you're in the Long Beach area please please please give this place a try you will not be disappointed thank you to my friends at Catalano's for such an amazing dinner and dessert last night my friends and I were extremely happy by the way we finished it off for breakfast this morning we will back be and you already know where I'm coming!!!

Best meatball sub ... hands down
    larry b.

Went back a week later to try their famous meatball sandwich and I was not disappointed! To be honest, it's a science making a meatball sub and they got it down pat. Their bread is the key and it doesn't get soggy. The meatballs and sauce and the crazy amount of cheese is so delicious!

Stopped by to get a slice of pizza, ended up getting a mini pizza and having a really good conversation with the lady in charge. The lady was very pleasant and friendly, she talked to me about business and the ingredients in their pizzas. I watched her make a pizza. They use a great grade of mozzarella and a good kind of olives. They put the a layer of cheese, they pepperonis, then another layer of cheese. They pizza looks extra cheesy BUT it actually didn't taste to cheesy at all, great flavor. Olives where delicious too. The actual establishment has a lot going on, the setting area is more of a storage area, so pizza to go is definitely a better option. But everything was clean and organized. I enjoyed getting to know a bit about the business and how they made their pizzas, I also really enjoyed the pizza; definitely recommend. #SupportYourNeighborhoodPizzeria

I was coming down carson street and wanted to give this place a try! I ordered the honeycup pizza with mikes hot honey! Pretty good pizza. Pretty pricey for a 12 inch for $26 bucks total but i understand inventory of items goes up as well. THe cheese was good and crust was ok, lacking a bit of flavor still. They share a huge parking lot with the 99-cent store and a donut shop and bixby burgers. No issues parking getting in and out. Very nice people who run this place though and they have a health code A in the window which i like. If you never tried it give it a shot and see what you think.

Do you offer a whole wheat crust?

My wife and I were trying a Thai spot when we saw great looking pizzas being brought to people at outside tables so we had to go and give it a try. So glad we did. The place is pretty cool and bigger than expected. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as some common tables in front of the entrance. Service was good. It's an order at the front counter and take a number to your table and they bring the food to you. We went with three family members and got two different pizzas and both were so good. One was a loaded pepperoni with a hot honey sauce and the other had ricotta cheese with pepperoni and pickled jalapeños (the red ones). Absolutely delicious We also ordered fried onion rings (which I did not try as I don't do onions) and fried zucchini sticks. The sticks were very good but I was thrilled with the dip as it had dill and I should have just asked for ranch. I'm told the onion rings were very good. They came with a honey mustard sauce dipper which went great with the zucchini sticks by the way. We saw some very good looking chicken wings being served to other tables and plan to try those next time. Parking in this area can be tough at times however it's worth the effort believe me.

We'd be happy to come down again in traffic, because it's absolutely worth the drive here. Some find the pizza sizes small or the prices high in comparison to your average pizza joint - but your average, everyday pizza place in California is just...ew. Their crust is very thin, Neapolitan style in a brick oven, beautiful and a little chewy, slightly-charred from the brick oven. Amazing texture. Traditionalists, so we just got the Margherita and Bianco, adding some mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle. SOO good. We also tried the fried zucchini blossoms, which were very light and not oily at all. Caesar salad was very delicious and fresh, also had the octopus, which was perfectly grilled and like eating steak. To finish, we had some amazing coffee with tiramisu. Wow. Not usually a fan, but their tiramisu was super light, not overly sweet, and super good. Thanks to our wonderful server, Diana ! Super friendly and everything came out quickly. Deep Dish pizza is one of my fave things to eat, but I don't find places that serve it or at least do it well. I grew up eating deep dish pizza out here on the west coast, so I'm more used to and like the west coast style, as opposed to the true Chicago style where they cut their thin crust pizzas in little squares. It's a pie, cut it in triangles like a pie! They use too much cornmeal in the crust too, but that's just me. I first had deep dish stuffed pizza at Zachary's in Berkeley, so I kinda compare everything else to that. It was another long day of work and the crew just wanted to stay at the hotel and have me go out and get them some of this deep dish pizza. Ok, I'll keep the crew happy. I go in and order and it's very nice inside. Kinda a little upscale over some pizza parlor joint. I get 2 medium Chicago Classic, I think that was what it was called. Mostly it was sausage, green pepper, onions and mushrooms and lots of cheese. They had an option of half baked, so I got that cause I wanted the pizza hot and crispy and we had a full kitchen back in my room, plus all the plates and stuff. We serve it and I gotta say this is some dang good deep dish pizza. I hate place where they say deep dish, but what it ends up being is deep crust pizza with thin toppings! When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Finally after about 10 min they asked us for the 3rd time what our name was and then walked away. We could hear someone say "the order for Kymmy didn't leave they are here" or something along those lines. We kind of just looked at each other. The guy that rang us up came over and said, "sorry something happened to your pizza it'll be another 20min or so". At this point we had already been waiting about 15 min for the pizza. So we said ok because we were starving. One of the employees asked us if we drank wine we said no we didn't and that's why we were drinking cokes. He said, "ohh, okayyyy..." and gave us a very judgmental look. Like sir, you don't know why we aren't drinking. We also kind of figured he wanted to give us a few beverage for the mix up. But that was the end of it. We heard someone say our name and we asked if ours was ready and one girl acted like we were being impatient while waiting. Like we didn't just wait over a half hour for food. Finally our pizza was done after a total of 40 min and there was very minimal apology for the delay. We took it back to our hotel and we were so excited it smelled so amazing and it looked so good. I cannot tell you how disappointed we were when we took our first few bites. It was not that great. We had ordered pepperoni and the veggie pizza. We ate half of it because we were starving and very quickly regretted it. It made both of us super sick on top of everything else Needless to say we won't be back here and won't be recommending this place either

This pizza was everything and I can see why it's so popular. Got takeout for a whole Pepperoni and…read moreWhite Pie. It was ready on time by the time we got there. Crust on both pizza was the perfect balance of crisp and thiness. Pepperoni - Not too oily or salty. Super generous with the pepperoni. They use smaller pepperoni which I always prefer. White Pie - I'm usually not a fan of pizza with no meat, but this was an exception. Incredibly delicious and I didn't feel like it was missing anything else.

Tried Little Coyote for the first time after stopping by the brewery next door. Kept it simple and…read morewent with a pepperoni slice to start. Overall, it was solid--sauce had good flavor, cheese was decent, and the dough was nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a respectable slice. My only issue was the balance--there was a bit too much cheese for the crust, so even folding it New York-style, it didn't hold up well and kind of fell apart. A little more crisp on the bottom would've made a big difference. I also tried their Sicilian grandma-style focaccia pizza, and honestly, that was a huge letdown. It had this dusty, raw flour taste right away, was dry and spongy, and way overpowered with Parmesan. It just didn't come together at all--pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better. Ended up just picking at the cheese to salvage something. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the space itself is chill--nice casual vibe with a few tables inside and outside to hang out. All in all, the regular slice was decent, but the focaccia pizza really missed the mark for me. Probably not a spot I'd go back to.
