Just had one of the best dinners I have had in Athens in a long time! We went to celebrate my youngest son's 22nd birthday. I had the chicken sandwich and could not finish half of it. Excellent! One son had the house burger and fries and the birthday boy had the low country boil. My husband had the cheesesteak sandwich made with homemade pimento cheese. My daughter has a restaurant also in Athens and is "famous" for her pimento cheese - Marti had better watch out! Great place for parents to enjoy dinner with the adult children. Although my 25 year old was a little embarrassed when his dad asked if they had any "American" beer from their extensive craft LOCAL beer list. Yes dad they do have Bud! Good wine list for me also! Catch 22 Gastropub - The absolute BEST! - New American Near Me - Athens, Georgia

Delicious food, great beer list, fast/friendly service, and casual atmosphere. We brought our 4-year-old and weren't sure whether it was kid friendly, but at 5:30-6:30pm on a Saturday (before UGA started their Fall semester), half the patrons were families with grade-school aged kids. Maybe this changes when college kids arrive for the Fall, but we were really happy with our experience. Highly recommend! read more

I messed up and got the 3 little pigs macaroni which was picture perfect but I wasn't digging the cheese sauce used with the noodles. Beer cheese perhaps? Either way it had such a heavy heavy taste and my stomach hurt after a few bites. Waste of money if not sharing with a crowd. I should have gotten a burger sandwich or some wings! Their slogan is "people hate us on yelp." 5 stars so read this review in SARCASM FONT. This place sucks. They have the warmest worst tasting beer in town. Terrible selection. The beer wenches are ugly and rude and dudes the dudes are quiet, slow, and not very friendly. One of them looks like Aaron Murray and he won't even sign a fake autograph for me. The owner hates me despite the fact I spend 100 a week in there. Whatever you do, just make sure you order ranch dressing if you meet the owner. Their house burger is the worst hamburger in town. Was really looking forward to trying this place, especially after reading the menu. We were the only two people there besides the staff but I will concur that the ambience of the place lended itself more to a pub then anything else which was nice. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The drink I ordered, salted caramel something, was made just right and had a generous pour. My only issue was the food, my wife ordered a French dip and I had one of their porknado burgers. I was sad to see that the burger itself was just a frozen patty burger and not made in house. Over all my burger was just kinda bland, mywife's French dip was also kind of bland but she said the meat was pretty tough as well and they always you sauce tasted like a powdered mix that didn't really have any flavor. Really disappointed in the food, you'd think at the cost they havethey would have something other than Frozen patties for burgers and tough meat for roast beef and French dips. read more

One of my favorite burger places. If you're a beer person well then Welcome Home, however if you're not then I'll bet you'll find a visit just as welcoming. I've had their burgers, fries, sandwiches, tacos and more and it's all been super good. My family also loves dining here when they come to Athens to visit. Sometimes there's a wait and sometimes there's not but make sure you give it a shot! read more

The draft beer selection is always satisfying and the wait staff is usually friendly and accommodating. I have been here 3-4 times and each time it has gotten progressively worse. Today I ordered the double/double burger (their take on the in&out burger). What I got was a jr. slider grease burger with a pilsbury biscuit for a bun. For $10, I should have gotten 3 of those. I asked the waitress what was up with the bun and was this a slider and she said, "I think they just make them smaller now." Very disappointing for a place that started off so strong. Judging by the lack of people in there, maybe they won't be around much longer. read more

Decent food. Could probably get the same level of quality at any generic chain like Applebee's. Terrible service. Our waitress, Hailey, seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but at work. Second time here, still mediocre. Broccoli extremely salty, so was the sauce on the tilapia sandwich (chef surprise). Good music and beer. Short ribs tasted like beef stew. Sauce on burger was super sweet. read more

Had to visit after a recommendation from a family friend. The tuna tacos definitely did not disappoint. Strong selection of draft beers, including a few local breweries which are always nice to get to sample. In the off chance I'm back in the area would absolutely visit again. read more

Wow... all I have to say about this establishment. Before coming in, I had a preconceived notion of it being just another indy, modern, urban bar/burger joint but instead it was much more. The food here is well worth the price and the food portions are healthy. It is a bang for you buck and the drinks here are very unique and good. There is a plethora of beer choices and the service is impeccable. The food comes out very fast and the management/servers treat you with the upmost respect. The server I had, Connor Kleid, was an absolute stud. He was very personable, respectful, informing and honest. I will definitely be coming back and will 110% be requesting Connor. read more

This place was so terrible I felt compelled to write my first yelp review just to warn people to save their time and money. We went in on a saturday night, and it was busy. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I can understand that things can get backed up...however, that doesn't mean taking nearly 2 HOURS to recieve a burger and grilled cheese is acceptable. Maybe the staff got their customer service training at the DMV. On top of that, the food seemed to be lukewarm at best, and had probably sat in the window for quite some time...which isn't surprising, considering our waitress only visited us once every 30 minutes. The grilled cheese was extremely dry and chewy, which was surprising considering the menu claimed it had 3 types of cheese...ive had better grilled cheese made with kraft singles. It was so dry in fact, that it was difficult to swallow. My guess is that sawdust is a major ingredient in their bread. The fries would have been good if they werent cold and hard. Burger was okay. Beer/alcohol is comically overpriced. After we finished eating, we waited 20-25 minutes before finally being acknowledged to get our check. Heard the waitress at the table behind us apologizing profusely for the piss poor service/wait times, and even gave them a discount. Our waitress did no such thing, only making excuses instead of owning the fact that we got worse service than a porta-potty at woodstock '69. read more

Loved the pub atmosphere yet the food was not outstanding. Teens enjoyed their hamburgers. However the Cuban sandwich nor the fish and chips were my favorites. The pita chips appetizer was fantastic! If we go back, I'll try one of their burgers. read more

Would like to be able to give this place 5 stars if solely based on food, but had to lower score because of the service! We went to lunch today and place was about 3/4 full so no excuse for letting us sit for close to 15 minutes without anyone getting a drink order. When the server did make it over she didn't greet us, just asked what we wanted to drink. Got the filthy fries (amazing) for an app and all 4 in party got various burgers/sandwiches. We all loved what we had and the quality was great, however once the server brought our food she NEVER came back over. We had to stop another server to ask for refills and boxes. As a former server I completely understand someone having a bad day, but to completely ignore a table is inexcusable!!! read more
