    Cheese curds
    Kris L.

First off we visited the new Monroe location and they were having a "soft opening". It was busy most of the day and by the time we stepped in we were able to sit at the bar as we walked in. The vibe was 90's grungish industrial theme. They had some clever names on their products and they were some cool mixtures. If you want to try something you have not tried they will provide it. We tried the cheese curds as a starter and they were decent but the rosemary was strong in the herb mix, it's also the same herb mic that comes on the fries. We also had the burger with the jalapeños and pork and it was delicious. A couple beverages and the bill was right along with everything else.

    Wings and potato salad

Read the reviews about how great the food was and decided to come here and try it for lunch. It did not disappoint! The wings were great as were the potato salad. I also had the pineapple upside down cake which was kinda small but tasty. My only complaint is the price seems a bit high. But still very good. Service was great too. Parking is a little limited but that's pretty standard for the area.

    Fish & chips

Servers are nice. Disappointed with queso and chips. Fish batter was thick and not fully cooked and greasy. But herb fries and jalapeño tartar sauce was a nice touch.

Food was really good. Got the filthy fries that tasted great! Came out a little cold but did not change it from tasting good. Service was super friendly and welcoming. Great environment to grab with friends.

Dropping the kiddo off at college deserves a break for lunch!

Stopped in for lunch last week and I have to say their chipotle bbq wings are absolutely amazing! Service was fast and the restaurant was covered in cool stickers and bottles of alcohol. My daughter loved the tomato soup and grilled cheese. The bacon on the BLT was very thick and delicious. The buttermilk pie was creamy and delicious.

Front of the restaurant great outside seating.

Food was amazing had the hot wings they make them with good quality chicken and the hot wing sauce was tasty. Clean inside and staff was really nice it close to the house so great place for a good sit down meal I will be back for sure!

I had eaten at this location about a year ago when I was up in Athens for work. I was in the area and came back today for lunch. It was just as good as I remember. The service is outstanding (thanks Sarah) and all the food is outstanding. Great little local place with a cool vibe. Today I have the salad and it really hit the spot.

Filty fries with pork. Soooo good!

I'm a little late in writing my review. My husband and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated right away. Our server was a bit quirky, but she was great with being attentive. The food came out quick and was delicious. I ordered the filthy fries with pork. Wow! Sooo good and flavorful. I ordered a margarita and it "meh." They have mainly craft beer and standard cocktails. The only specialty cocktails were fall flavors, which isn't my preference. Overall, I would come back to dine in again.

House burger wife says it's really good !

Visiting from out of state. Randomly chose this place on held. Great beer selection for flights. The wife inhaled her house burger before I could get halfway through my Ruben. Both were very satisfying. I would come back.

Rare tuna sandwich with side of potato salad.

First visit and I would say that this is more of a drinking spot than a food spot. It was probably 20% occupied on this Thursday night. They do have a decent selection of crafts and I did see flights offered in some pictures on Yelp. I asked if they had flights because they were not on the menu and the server said they did so I ordered a flight which consisted of four 4 ounce pour,s. Found out when I got the bill that I was charged an obscenely high $13 for the flight (what equates to one beer!). I've never paid that much for a beer flight anywhere. I ordered the blackened tuna sandwich with a side of potato salad. I asked the server to have them cook the salmon medium, unfortunately it came out rare. The potato salad was very good. The dinner "plates" were wooden painter's palettes - cute, but not very hygenic.

Complete waste of time! Very salty, the turkey had a slight bit of turkey and the pulled pork was so finely ground it was tastless.

Mistakes happen, but good customer service is what matters, and they definitely made it right. The food overall was really good. The deviled eggs always hit, the creamed spinach was delicious, and the loaded potato was solid. The corn had a smoky flavor to it that caught me off guard at first, but it was still sweet and flavorful. Overall, great service, good food, and they handled an issue professionally, especially during such a busy graduation weekend.

The food: I went with the Fried Chicken Blue Plate. Between the regular and the Nashville Hot, the Nashville was the winner--flavorful and moist without being overwhelming with the spice. Huge shoutout to my server for suggesting the brussel sprouts; that glaze is incredible and they were easily my favorite part of the plate. The mashed sweet potatoes were unique--I'm still debating if I liked them or loved them. The jalapeño cornbread was a bit sweet for my taste but on par with most restaurant cornbread. The mac & cheese wasn't bad, but also didn't do much for me like most restaurant mac & cheese. The cocktail: Do not sleep on Nana's Naissance. I wasn't sure what to expect from the ingredients, but it's like an elevated take on Rumchata. The service: I was seated at the bar and experienced a noticeable delay--a group that arrived well after me almost finished their meal before mine arrived. However, the waitress acknowledged the wait before I even had to mention it and made things right. I really appreciate that kind of proactive service. We're all human, and they handled the situation very professionally.

It sounds simple, but it's truly elevated. Right now, the sweet potato brown butter pierogies are absolutely mouth-watering, and the hazelnut bread pudding is rich and a perfect blend of sweetness and cream. The waitstaff is top notch and you'll receive better, more attentive service here than at restaurants with much larger price tags in Atlanta. During the last year of the five-and-a-half decades my mother lived in Athens, she survived a…read moreserious medical crisis and endured the sale of her longtime home and preparations for a move to my brother's city. A chaotic period, and when my brother and/or I were in town to help out with these exhausting and time-consuming tasks, finding quick, reasonably priced, somewhat healthy, and hopefully tasty food was challenging indeed. I unfortunately didn't discover Maepole until 2025, but it nicely ticked off those boxes. Maepole is basically a "fast casual," Southern-inflected "bowl" place, with a much heavier emphasis on the nutritious and fresh than is typical of traditional Southern cooking. You start with a base, just like at Chipotle or Cava--greens, sweet potatoes, or quinoa, etc.--and top with veggies or salads, and, if you prefer a protein, you can add chicken, pork, or tofu. Or you can just go full-on veggie plate. Top with a flavorful sauce; my favorites were the spicy avocado and lemon herb. My general impression of the food quality was that it wasn't quite at the five-star level some of the time--veggies weren't always cooked to perfection, for instance--but the general experience and value, as well as the bold flavors, argue for bumping this rating up to five stars. Plus, every time I think about Maepole, I sure wish my current city had an option like it.

And just as many drink options, including locally made kombucha. I ordered the winter salad and low country plates. With the exception of the turmeric ginger dressing (a little too zesty for me) and the hoppin John salad (hoppin John OR salad ... not both ) EVERYTHING was delicious. I enjoyed the salad way more than I thought I would. The spicy avocado dressing is YUMMY! The greens were cooked to perfection - another shocker. The edamame crunch, tofu and crunchies were just as delicious. I will visit the Atlanta location just to try the fritters! A wonderfully healthy and scrumptious delight !
