Delicious food. Lots of options. Fast service. And friendly staff. My boyfriend is a catfish snob and he loved it. I also liked the calamari. Everything was good with reasonable prices.

Delicious doesn't even scratch the surface. I've been looking for a seafood homie and "hole in the wall" restaurant experience in Carrollton, I'm glad I stumbled upon it. Service was great, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Staff helped guide us through the menu. Food was out in under 10 min, and brought to our table. I love seafood and if you're looking for a lunch meal or something on the go, that's quick, tasty and cheap, then this is the place! They have seating inside, but it's also delicious to take home!

The staff is pleasant! The restaurant doesn't have the best decor it's kind of out dated. I enjoy the food once I dress it up. I order the 2 piece fish, and I make sure to get a side of season because there isn't any initially. It's definitely good for something quick.

Pleasant staff, very attentive. Good came out quickly and the place was busy, they got everyone in and out quickly. The food wasn't exactly seasoned to my liking, had to doctor it up a bit, but it was a nice place with a good staff so I would return.

Love the Catfish Poboy here with the purple onion. Yum Yum Yum :)...

Hubby & I LOVE this place. When we head to the Chinese Supermarket in Carrollton, we always plan our shopping trip around stopping in here for some cajun inspired seafood delights. First of all they have beer on ice & that's always nice! haha. We love that this is a "Quick serve/Self serve" Cajun seafood place that has amazing food & is a great value. It's a very casual hole in the wall kinda place in a strip mall, just like you would find in a small town in French Louisiana somewhere. OuiOui. The seafood is always cooked perfectly & the coleslaw is amazing. We love the coleslaw & fries here. Love that they add purple onion to the po'boys. Not on authentic NOLA bread but very very good french bread. Will Return. Highly Recommend.

Exactly what you would expect when driving through rural Louisiana except it's right here in town! Lots of locals, even sales people bringing clients in when I visited. I over heard the salesman tell his clients that everything on the menu is amazing. Great service and great decor to match the vibe. Catfish was perfect, thin and crispy like I love it. Poorboy we dresses perfectly as well. My only knock on the place would be they don't use traditional Poorboy bread, kind of a disappointment. However overall it's a true southern experience!

Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Be patient, Prepared to order.

If you were in Louisiana on a fishing trip and stopped at a small town catfish place, this would be it. Nothing fancy here but great food. Two guys who look like they would be just as comfortable renting you a boat, work hard to deliver really good food. The menu goes much further than you would expect. How about some fried tomatoes, fried pickles or frog legs. Salmon, tilapia and oysters are here too. There is a kids menu, Some TVs for sports are present but this is a fairly quiet room. No chicken or beef here except for buffalo wings. Enjoy.

Great find from Yelp. Saw the reviews and tried Catfish House for lunch. It's a big place, but was almost empty when we arrived. You order at the counter from an extensive menu. We went with the catfish fillet basket and fried green tomatoes. The fish was light, crispy and cooked perfectly. Fried green tomatoes were solid too. Fast, friendly service and reasonable prices. Nice place with excellent food. Highly recommend this place.

I got the grilled catfish plate with rice and grilled veggies. It was delicious! The fish was flavorful. The veggies were cooked well and the rice was sprinkled with fresh parsley. This place is going on my rotation list.

Do they have all-you-can-eat fried catfish? If so, when?

Not that I know of, but I have only been there twice.

The Oxtail Soul Bowl was packed and loaded on top of a bed of corn bread and it came with a huge piece of corn bread on the side. The red velvet pound cake was something different, but good too. Just very sweet especially drinking their half gallon "Mystery" juice which was good, but also pretty diabetes sweet. I tried my best to get the mystery ingredients from one of the cashiers, but she held strong lol. Overall, it is a pretty expensive type of food, but the portions is pretty huge and fulfilling as well so it balances out. The staff were super friendly and the food didn't take too long to come out. They were under renovation so they only did takeout orders which was a bummer. Parking lot is a bit small, but you'll be fine.

Hubs had the catfish bites and Mac and cheese. Both were seasoned well and delicious. I had the fried ribs with baked beans and potato salad. The ribs were fried in a batter seasoned to perfection, and I really enjoyed those. I loved the potato salad and the baked beans were ok. My husband liked them but I thought they tasted heavily of bbq sauce. We all tried a side of spaghetti and it was good as well. Tasted like the spaghetti we used to make in college lol We got the Mystery Koolaid and Mango Peach Lemonade. Both excellent and surprisingly not too sweet. The service was 10/10. There was a very friendly young lady taking orders. This location is takeout only, so no ambiance to speak of. They run a very efficient operation, and I plan to return for sure.

The staff is welcoming and professional, and the clientele adds to the warm, classic atmosphere that keeps people coming back year after year. The first five of us ordered drinks while we waited, and the remaining couples joined shortly after and did the same. Our waiter was fantastic. He was witty with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that fit our group perfectly. He made the evening feel relaxed and fun, and we genuinely appreciated his attentiveness throughout the meal. We started with two orders of the crab fingers, the Maryland crab cake, and calamari. The crab fingers were the clear standout appetizer, as it was a unique dish that everyone loved. The broth was so flavorful that several of us soaked it up with bread and couldn't get enough. The crab cake was just okay, slightly fishier than expected. For entrées, there were some real highlights. The halibut special and the sea bass special were both exceptional. The Lefty's pasta is enormous and packed with flavor, another favorite amongst us. The chicken parmesan was solid for those not in the mood for seafood, though I'll admit I expected a bit more boldness in the sauce and a little more sauce overall would have helped elevate the dish. We didn't take many photos because we were focused on enjoying the company and celebrating the occasion. Everything felt celebratory and enjoyable until the very end. After we had paid our checks, a few of us were finishing the last of our wine and drinks. Within moments of closing out, the owner approached our table and abruptly told us he had a party of ten waiting and that we needed to hurry up. Had he given us five more minutes, we would have naturally wrapped up and left on our own, completely happy with the experience. He could have approached us with kindness and this result would have been so different. Instead, that interaction left us feeling rushed and unwelcome. We spent a significant amount of money and were not lingering excessively, so it was disappointing to have the evening end that way. With a little more grace at the finish, this would have been a five-star evening.

This place is truly something special, from the gracious hospitality to the incredible menu. The menu delivers elevated Southern comfort food that somehow manages to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I've worked my way through almost the entire menu over multiple visits, and I can honestly say that everything is incredible. Every time I take someone new there, I tell them that there hasn't been one dish that I've ever thought "meh" about. Every dish is so flavorful and outstanding. That said, I absolutely have my go-to order: the cornbread (a must), the southern greens, and the fried chicken. The cornbread is almost like a melt in your mouth dessert, that I happily start every visit with. The greens are packed with rich, savory flavor, and I'm not kidding when I say that every time I have them, I literally dream about them for weeks after. And the duck fat fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and hands-down some of the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the whole experience just feels thoughtful, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of every dish. You can tell there's real intention behind everything coming out of the kitchen. If you're anywhere near Farmers Branch, this spot is worth going out of your way for. And if it's your first visit--trust me, get the cornbread, southern greens, and fried chicken. You'll be dreaming about it later.
