Two stars are for customer service. Isabella was very nice and helpful. I dislike that their phone does not work. I got the crazy six and macaroni turkey leg. The Crazy Six plate was Two shrimps - 5.5/10 very good batter but not fried long enough. Two chickens - 3/10, there was zero seasoning but fried perfectly. Two "catfish" - 0/10... it was not catfish AT ALL. Their "catfish" is actually Swai, and it was not fried enough. The texture was squishy underneath the batter. It also had zero flavor. I couldn't even finish it, I spit it out after one bite. This plate is also supposed to come with fries. I did not get my fries and because their number doesn't work, I couldn't even call about it. I normally check my food but I was in a rush. The macaroni turkey leg. The macaroni - 3/10 it was nothing special. The turkey leg - 7/10 flavorful and cooked right. I would've liked more of a smoked flavor. My experience here was nice. The food needs better quality and they need to get their phone fixed. read more

I ordered the 5 piece catfish with 2 hush puppies and potato salad. I got an order of banana pudding on the side. Overall the catfish was ok, it was fresh. It came with 3 types of sauces, the sauces were good I mean you can't really mess up sauce....so I give 6 out of 10 for catfish alone. As for everything else, Girl let me tell you, clench your keys before you drive to this place. DO NOT ORDER THE POTATO SALAD. I love potato salad and this made me lose my appetite. I opened the top of the container on it & was surprised by the look of it, I always inspect my food before I eat. It looks like potato's covered in ranch , if you like corn in your potato salad this is the place for you. Despite the looks, I kept an open mind and tasted a single potato out of the salad- to say the least, I am not a fan. Was most definitely not giving what it was supposed to. Thank God I had a lemonade next to me to cleanse my palate. Banana pudding was okay, it saved the meal in all honestly, it taste like store bought banana pudding but that's what I expect unless I homemade it myself. Overall this place gets a 2 star. I am very impressed with this restaurant. I ordered the boudin link and the combination basket (catfish & shrimp w/hush puppies). I ordered to go and the staff was very quick and polite. It took about 15 minutes to get my order and it was hot! The food is made to order and the catfish is great. I love their catfish and shrimp. I never expected to receive stellar food or service here considering the location, but surprisingly, I've gotten just that - each time myself and my family have visited. You can tell the food is cooked on spot and not in bulk. It takes a few minutes to get your order and it's brought to your table. (The manager isn't exactly friendly and can be a bit rude when asking for extra condiments, so beware...) The cost of a meal here isn't cheap, so be prepared to shell out some coins for your tastebuds, but overall - the food is pretty good. My faves are the shrimp & grits and the cajun pasta. The red beans and rice aren't that bad either and the bacon caesar dressing is definitely appealing to the palate. The restaurant isn't fancy - its anchored in a strip plaza in Spring.... The downside of this establishment is where its located though, and its parking. It's a nightmare to get in and out of a space in front of the building, especially since it sits right on the corner spot of the Kroger shopping center (on the Kuykendahl side). That said - I guess the open seating and big televisions allow one in return, to destress while waiting for their food. lol Overall, Its a decent place with a decent menu. The food was not the best. The "fish" is not catfish. I think they use swai, it's a cheaper alternative to catfish. The batter tries to camouflage the swai as catfish, after a few bites I knew something was off. To make matters worse, the cheese grits were forgettable. They were cold, seasoned instant grits. It was not appetizing at all. The short cuts taken aren't worth it. The food could be good if they would just stick to quality ingredients. Scrap the crap! If you go, I'd proceed cautiously. Well from the recent image I took of their menu, the prices went up. But the quality is...ok. My family and I ordered some food. Came out quick. But two of the three pieces of my fish were mushy on the inside. And the other was a little over cooked and that was the only one I could tolerate. This place occupies the old Cici's pizza. While the overall layout is still the same, it has been gutted, cleaned out, and modernized. The place looks nice. He was correct. The food was out pretty quick. I live about five minutes from the restaurant. When I arrived home, the food was still hot and fresh. Always stop by when I need some good and fried fresh fish. They never disappoint. The food is always prepared in a timely manner, it's clean (restrooms and all), and they have great Customer service. My issue is not with the food. My issue is more of a customer service issue or lack thereof. A family member called this location to find out exactly where it was located. The young lady who answered the phone couldn't seem to tell her where this place was. Huh? You work there, right? You don't know how to get to where you work? When she was pressed for a manager to come to the phone, she pulled the old "I'm the manager" routine. No sensible manager is not going to know how to tell someone to get to where she works, so of course she was lying. When pressed again to get a member of management on the phone, she refused and said again that she was the manager. So, we finally go to the location...walk in and there were 3 employees there. One young lady, and two males. When asked for a manager, one of the older males said he was the manager but couldn't put together a complete sentence to save his life. Again, we were lied to. We asked for a manager again. No help was given. We asked for a district managers name and number. No help again. I then found Catfish Station on Twitter. I tweeted to them that I needed help with an issue at one of their locations. I figured I'd give them a day or two to respond. That was over a month ago and no response. A few days after the tweet was obviously ignored, I decided to go to the Catfish Station corporate website and send a message. "Surely someone checks their website for messages", I thought. No one ever responded. Catfish Station is a black owned establishment. As a black man, it pains me to even have to write this review. I believe in supporting black owned businesses. But it's things like this that give black owned businesses a bad name. Not following up on customer service issues is horrible! It can kill your business once the word gets around that you are terribly lacking in the customer service department. That's why places like Chick Fil A are so successful. They kill you with kindness and customer service. I'm not saying that Catfish Station has to be like Chick Fil A. But, geez....at least pretend that you care about your customers. No response at all, after reaching out through Twitter and your corporate website shows that you could care less. read more

Summary: good fried food, good service, casual dining. Walked into catfish station after work during an early Sunday evening. I remember my sister had brought to-go from this place a few weeks back, and after having a few bites of her leftovers, I was really impressed with how good the catfish tasted despite being cold. Cooked to order, the wait is about a good 10 minutes during the not so busy periods. Arrives to your day hot and fresh, flaky and soft on the inside with a crispy crunch to the outer exterior. Mmm mm mm! The nice gentleman behind the counter was considerate when helping me pick the sauces for my meal, I believe I got their homemade tartar and remoulade sauce, and they even threw in a cocktail! Couldn't really differentiate between the tarter and remoulade, so I say get both, they're both really good and one of them definitely stands out. Also ordered a Boudain as well just to try. Didn't enjoy it as much as the fish, but it wasn't bad! Not the best I've had. For dessert: I got the bread pudding upon recommendation. In all honesty, I've had better bread pudding. Went on Friday evening after 6 PM. Ordered fish & Shrimp combo's. Alfredo with chicken. Shrimp poboy. Side of red beans and rice, fries, green beans and mashed potatoes. Also got cup of gumbo. Cup of banana pudding. The fish & shrimp needed some seasoning to them. They tasted good, but a simple dash of Cajun seasonings was needed. Tarter sauce was very flavorful, as well as the cocktail sauce. The sides needed some seasoning as well. I had to add a dash of Tabasco hot sauce to them. Green beans needed to be softer and bacon cooked with them for my taste. The main entrees just didn't have any over all flavor. 3 over is All there can get at this time. Needs more flavor for Cajun style food, spicy is where it's at. Oh and the banana pudding , didn't taste like banana pudding, rather bland tasting. Came back here to eat the other day after a little while of not coming by. Still the same nice people working here but the fish has changed from catfish to probably swai. Thin, small pieces. The red beans and rice were still on point, but the cheap tasteless fish just didn't cut it. Prices have increased about 46% from 2 years ago. It's a shame but totally reflective of today's economy.
