So I don't usually leave reviews, but I decided I would make myself an account just to leave one for this. Sunday night I came in excited and looking forward to trying this Cava location but ended up leaving having witnessed one of the strangest and most unprofessional things that I have witnessed happen in a restaurant. So I've had Cava before, just never this location. I came in and It was mildly busy and by the time I had almost gotten to the front the line seemed to stop. At that moment I noticed some other customers were staring and laughing so I look over and I see a woman with black hair who looked to be in her early 30's and I'm pretty sure she was a manager as well because she was wearing different attire from all the other workers there, which is shocking considering how she was acting. She seemed to look like she was completely out of it and couldn't even comprehend what customers were asking her. I noticed she had five bowls piled up, with customers waiting, including mine, and when I asked her for chicken she seemed to say something inaudible and walked over to the toppings. Mind you I saw that there appeared to be plenty of chicken available. Thankfully, another worker came to assist me and quickly made my bowl. But then when I was paying I noticed that same woman leaning over by the grill almost like she was about to fall over. After that it seemed like she was barely able to make her way to the back where she seemed to stay for the next 20 minutes or so. I sat down and ate my meal and by the time I was leaving I noticed her coming out of the back with what looked like another co-worker helping her, she looked like she was about to pass out and seemed to be completely delirious. Even the other workers that were there seemed to be staring at her as well as other customers. I'm pretty sure that the guy that was walking her out must have been driving her home, as she was most definitely in no condition to drive herself. As I continued to leave, I saw that she seemed to almost fall over on her way to the car, like she was drunk or something. After that the other worker drove off and I'm assuming took her home. But I am completely shocked that I had even seen that happen, I mean how does someone that appears to be a manager manage other people when it doesn't even seem like she can manage herself. I guess this Cava must just hire anybody, drunks included apparently. I would be shocked if they let her come back after that, as such behavior is completely unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Never coming back to this location again, and I would advise for others to avoid this location as well until they get their crap together, fix their management, and stop hiring drunks in positions of authority. read more

I'm a Cava rewards member and I have been going to Cava faithfully since it was 1st announced! I never had any major issues. Meanwhile, last night I decided to treat my friends and kids to Cava.. I ordered through the app like I always do and as always customize everyone's order. I drove to the Cava by my house (Laguna Niguel), with a broken left food, my friends with me and kids. I have my friend (Alex) go inside and pickup the order... He gets the order and check it and it's missing pita bread, pita chips, and the bowls have a miniture sized portion almost as small as a Chick-fil-A mac bowl... I tell him we are missing things and can he redo the bowls please. So my friends goes back in there and he tells my friend nothing is missing and he is not going to redo anything, so my friends goes hands him the phone and he said "I'm not doing shit, I'm not redoing anything, everything is there, I don't have time for this". I said if you would let me finish the stuff is missing and I call out what I ordered from the app (see screenshot) and he said that is fake, I'm not doing it so I said I will just come inside. So I hop inside with all the kids and he says who are you, I said I was the one on the phone. He said "Okay, come outside then and grabs the order and starts waving things in my face and trying to explain why he is not giving me the missing stuff and remaking the bowl. I nevee in my life have been to a Cava like this! I go to Cava's nationwide!! I don't understand... Mind you my kids were right there and the dining room was full of people eating.. Mind you we spend $300/m on Cava which is a personal choice, but why are the workers acting like this and why are so many angry. CAVA in Laguna Niguel is easily one of my favorite go-to spots for a quick, healthy, and incredibly flavorful meal. Sam and his team at Cava are amazing! They're always so helpful, especially with my usual extra-everything order. I appreciate that they let me know about the extra charges, but they've gotten to know my order so well. This location is top-notch in terms of cleanliness and friendly staff even the bathrooms are spotless, unlike many other places. Sam's funny attitude always brightens my day after work. I recently placed a large holiday order for my office, and the staff was incredibly helpful and reassuring. To top it off, everything was perfect! I didn't even need to double-check before leaving. I came in yesterday closer to 1pm and I thought it seemed a little slower than it should have been on a Saturday but I was fine with that. I got a steak bowl and it was fantastic. The steak had a lovely color and the rice was soft and fluffy! I hope the cook sees this can gets a rise! The food was so good! Service was fine a young women helped me out and she seemed nice. Location was clean and pleasant. I liked the quiet, so it was nice to eat outside. I can not wait to come back here again! Next time I am in the area I will make it a point to stop by! read more

I decided to give Cava another shot after a lackluster first visit, but unfortunately, it was even worse this time. The food was bland, and the portions were noticeably smaller than expected for the price. The staff seemed indifferent and rushed, leaving no room for customization or questions about the menu. On top of that, the dining area was messy, and it felt like cleanliness wasn't a priority. I really wanted to like this place, but after two bad experiences, I won't be coming back. I come into this location a lot and yesterday I went in around 2:30pm. I have to say whoever was cooking the food is the soul of that location. Big tall guy with a thin beard. He was having fun and the food was AMAZING!!! He was having the time of his life his life cooking, the staff serving me was fine I guess. The two dudes looked sad and the girl was nice. I love coming here after the gym. I usually get a salad bowl with harissa honey chicken. They're pretty quick depending on the time of day you come in.
