I over paid. They under delivered. I won't be going back. The food is ok but the service was so disappointing that I didn't enjoy it. Watching my bowl make its way down the line, I could see the lack of training as each person was void of concern and human interaction. When I asked why the other bowls were filled to the brim and why mine wasn't, they pointed to the lettuce, making an excuse rather than taking the opportunity to make me happy. At the register it was clear I was disappointed. Like robots, they just kept shuffling. This is why people go to Chipotle instead. As for the ambience, it was of no concern. I love Cava but the customer service here is very bad. No smiles from any of the employees and they are not polite they seem absolutely miserable. I was smiling and saying thank you and they were just rude. They don't explain anything and if I said something wrong they say "that's a sauce not a side" okay? Maybe explain what the sides are then? They SKIMP on the meat as well, they gave me 3 meatballs in my bowl and god forbid you ask for a couple more it will cost you an arm and a leg and they will look annoyed. I'll drive farther to go to a different Cava because it was a bad experience. They also don't have seat covers for the toilet which is a huge inconvenience. Anyways all in all the employees at this location all need a lesson or two on customer service or management just needs to reconsider who they hired. read more

If zero stars was an option, I would. There are not a lot of healthy options here... they cook chicken, falafels, & pita chips in canola oil. We ordered a bowl and pita, the girl helping us did not look happy to be there and was just plopping our food around. I still enjoyed my greens/grain bowl but my husband was not happy with his chicken avocado pita because the way the ingredients were plopped on and not spread out. So with every bite, he only tasted that particular ingredient. The avocado was also not ripe and he had to throw out as it was hard to eat and tasteless. When paying for the food prepared at the end, the guy also didn't seem happy to be there. He asked if we wanted a receipt which I said yes but didn't give it to us. My husband had to ask if he should take it from the register and he said "well you can if you want". Overall - poor customer service and okay food. read more

Probably one of the worst Cavas I've ever been to. People were annoyed if you asked questions about what the sides were and they totally SKIMPED you on the main ingredients (grains,greens,protein). Tried for the first time yesterday. My neighbors told me it was pretty good. First off it was a bit confusing to order. Try to understand how it all worked. Then after I paid, I noticed I got up charged for a few things. Almost $30 for one adult bowl and one kids meal seems a bit ridiculous. Watch out for the up charges. If I order a $12 bowl and something cost an extra five dollars to put in please tell me when you're doing it. But honestly, the flavor was not good at all. Somehow the flavors just didn't go together. The pickled onions were very sweet that didn't conquest well with the salty olives. Luna grill does a similar bowl and it's delicious. Did not like the flavor at all. Also, the chicken meat seems very poor quality, dark meat, and a bit of gristle. my son, and I both noticed that. I have been to all the different Cava locations nearby and this new one in Laguna Niguel seems to be the best of the bunch (Irvine, Mission Viejo, Costa Mesa). The amount they give in each scoop for my bowl was far more generous than the MV and Irvine locations. A nice little Cava hack I found is that you can also double up on the sides and sauces without any additional charges. Food quality was excellent and super fresh on the veggies. The falafel is my favorite. However, the black lentils are too crunchy, but this has been my experience at every Cava. There are usually no lines at this location, so it is perfect for grabbing a quick lunch or dinner. My only negative for this location was that the decor left a lot to be desired as they have all blank walls inside. Staff were super friendly as always! Enjoyed a very nice chicken bowl here recently and pleased with the size of the portions for the cost. Everyone was very welcoming when we walked in and happy to explain what each sauce was and the degree of spiciness. I gave this place another try. Nope. They failed. Lentil beans still NOT cooked 100%. Their customer service is nothing to brag about because they are stoic. They are too quick to put food in your bowl without listening to what you really want. They are virtually out of certain foods and scrape barely anything in the food bins without replenishing. Went here for the first time the other day. Think about it as a chipotle but for mediterranean food. I got the do it yourself pita. Overall the quality of the ingredients are decent but I don't think the chipotle style system translated well. A lot of the Mediterranean ingredients like the pickled vegetables and sauces just made the pita extremely soggy and wet. Was barely able to even hold it together while consuming it. I'm a HUGE Cava fan, so I was so excited when this one opened near us. We ordered for pickup and sadly, our experience was not what I've gotten from other Cavas in the past. So. I'll keep this short and...not so sweet. Today was just the worst day. First, it started with my car getting totaled after flipping 5 times and catching on fire. Luckily I was okay, but it already wasn't off to a great start. This happened while I was on the way to meet my husband at the hospital, where I then had to buy an overpriced Uber to find out that he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. On top of all of this, I couldn't find a good time to eat, my kids were just being a pain, and I was one unkind interaction from bursting into tears. I'll be honest, I'd never been to Cava, but it was nearby so I decided to give it a chance. Game changer. Best decision of my life. Upon walking in, I was shocked to see the squeaky clean restaurant with kind workers greeting me with a smile. The sweetest girl, Valery, must have been able to tell something was wrong. She was not only incredibly kind, but she was generous with the portions after I had told her I hadn't yet eaten that day! Chipotle could never. To top it all off, this was hands down one of the best meals of my life. Needless to say, I absolutely WILL be back. This meal saved my day from being the worst of my life.
