The PITA is sooo addictive! I love how fresh everything here is and delicious. The bowls are honestly whatever you make them. The staff is obviously used to rushes because my first time ordering I was moving pretty slow learning the menu and ended up getting things I was just curiously asking about added to my bowl because of their quick movements which was fine anyways because I ended up loving it. They have great drink options. The place it self has seating but it gives chipotle energy. I would rather dine out at the park than inside since it gets really busy. read more

Service is questionable really depends when you go sometimes there friendly and helpful other times they have a bad attitude that people are coming in. They have a lot of seats but its usually busy and hard to get one. The food is good if you get it fresh but they also run out of things a lot. The first time I had Cava was in North Carolina, and it was so good. So when I saw one at Union Square, I was like yassss Real chill vibes and everyone was very friendly, and it's clean. Now, I'm not gonna say it's cheap, it's more of a "treat yourself" kind of spot but it's worth it. If you love Middle Eastern food and Mediterranean this is definitely for you. Everything was flavorful, it never disappoints. It's like lunch and dinner combined because I do give you a great amount. Don't underestimate your bowl. read more

It was my first time coming here and I was treated by my stepson! He's a big fan so I decided to finally try it. I enjoyed it so much there weren't any leftovers! I ordered a bowl with grilled chicken and it was delish! One thing I didn't really like was the service. The server was a little unprofessional while serving me. He was too busy talking to his coworkers while serving and I felt rushed while ordering. I also tried their blueberry lavender drink & i was not a fan! I haven't had Cava in a while and i forgot how delish their rice bowls are. I got the braised lamb(very good) and Harissa honey chicken(spicy and good! Not too sweet) I ordered with all toppings except olives. Yogurt dill sauce, 1/2 supergreens 1/2 saffron basmati rice, hummus, roasted eggplant, tzatziki. Loveee their pita chips(regular not spicy) I can taste all the ingredients and sauces taste very fresh. And you can see the staff cuttin/makin everythin fresh there(open kitchen) Just wanna say the staff at this Union Square Location were very welcoming and very nice and helpful. I've been a loyal customer at the Union Square Cava location, visiting about 3-4 times a week, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. During my visit around 12:45 p.m., I politely asked for a little more chicken after receiving what appeared to be one scoop and a half scoop. I was told it would cost extra, which I agreed to, but the portion still did not seem correct. Another employee then stepped in and added more chicken. At that point, team member Xavier loudly stated, "Yeah, because I was about to curse her out," in front of other customers and staff. When I calmly responded and asked for her name to report the incident, she continued arguing and told me to "figure her name out" myself. I remained respectful throughout the interaction, and Jasmine later came over to assist and hear what happened. I appreciate Jasmine, Vikki, Chris, and several other staff members who have always been professional and kind. However, this behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional, especially toward a paying customer. Unfortunately, this was not my first negative experience at this location, and after being a loyal customer, I no longer feel comfortable returning. read more

i absolutely love cava. my go-to is the kids meal, because for me it's a good portion for one meal. it comes with a side drink, and i always get the lavender blueberry lemonade. it has a subtle sweetness with an underlying lavender essence, which is a unique combination. for the main meal itself, i get a side of grains. that the pita is soft and pairs perfectly with the spicy chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, and corn with harissa dressing. overall, i love that i can customize according to what toppings and sauces i want that day. i would strongly recommend trying the harissa dressing if you like spicy food, it adds a wonderful kick that goes so well with the creamy yogurt-based sauces. the kids meal also comes with a side of carrots or pita chips. while the wait at cava can be long, i think it's definitely worth it, and usually the line moves pretty quickly. the service was wonderful, and there is ample seating inside. read more

I absolutely love Cava and this is consistently one of the better locations! The chicken is usually juicy and tender and the lentils and rice are usually cooked properly. I love all the different topping options they have! This place is essentially a Mediterranean version of chipotle and it's delicious! The portions are fairly good too, especially compared to their other locations. Ultimately it depends on who is making your food though. There's quite a few tables if you want to eat inside and service varies...mostly depends on the worker you get! read more

I went into Cava on 14th st and union square. Let me start by saying the food was good. The service on the other hand was horrible. The server Iffe treated me with such disrespect. I tried to be kind by greeting her because she did not greet me. She then put very little food on my plate and kept saying she was only giving me 3 toppings. I never asked for extra. she then placed my food on the counter with no top as she went back and prepared other peoples food. I watched cover everyone else's food. When it was time for her to ring me up she charged me extra. She told me I had and up charge that I was never informed of nor did it say it. I asked to speak to a manager and she went to another employee. They spoke and she came back and harshly to me that she was charging me extra but next time I better pay. At this point the line was held up she was speaking to me like I had no money or like I was begging for food. I felt so embarrassed. The other server told her that he never told me about the up charge. I told her I just wanted to speak to the manage, but she just kept talking at me. she gave me cups for me drinks and there were no tops. she then went to a different person, who turned out to be the manager. I told her I wanted to speak to him and she then went to him and tried to tell him what happened. I thought she had already spoke to a manager but she didn't. I spoke to the manager, who was polite, and he tried to do damage control. She embarrassed me. How does she do this to customers. she shouldn't be working there if this is how she treats the customers. We are what makes the business successful. Cava needs to do something about her. I feel very disrespected. read more

Food is terrible and in an order of 10 bowls they got 9 wrong. The descriptions on the bowls were correct but contents incorrect and resulting in a food allergy reaction by one person. I love Cava, as I've had it several times in other locations, but I'm not sure about the food at this location. I had the chicken and rice bowl and was far from impressed. The chicken was diced, when I think it should be slightly larger chunks so it retains the juice better. The server gave very little arugula, I can guess that it was about 15 leaves. I didn't watch her dispense the Greek vinaigrette, but boy was it extremely sour! So I'm not sure if this location doesn't make their stuff good, or I chose a bad item from the menu. read more

Cava is a great Mediterranean fast food chain that serves quick bowls. It is my go-to bowl over Chiptotle any day. They sport a wide range of toppings - great sauces, a ton of vegetables for your bowl. It is one of the few places where going vegetarian doesn't compromise the tastiness of your meal. I feel like portion sizes seem a little smaller with their new more sustainable packaging. The prices have definitely increased since a year ago. I also didn't get the complimentary pita with my bowl at this location - it may no longer be complimentary any more. The taste and flavors of these bowls still have never disappointed me. Tip: cover the lid and shake to help with mixing your bowl. read more

We came here for the first time today for an early dinner (4:20pm) before a salon appointment. It's a cute airy restaurant with plenty of tables/seats. S ordered a bowl with white rice, chicken, fire roasted corn, tomato & cucumber, crumbled feta, pickled onions & tahini caesar dressing. I ordered the bowl with white rice,harissa honey chicken, tomato & cucumber, cabbage slaw, pickled onions, kalamata olives, lemon herb tahini & tahini caesar dressing. Here's where the issues came into play. The young lady put 2 spoonfuls (regular serving spoon size not the spoon size in 2 competitor restaurants) of the white rice in each bowl, 1 spoon of meat , 1 spoon of each topping, half a scoop of each dip/spread and a small drizzle of each dressing. Our bowls were barely half full but we thought this was a normal serving size for this restaurant UNTIL I watched the young lady fill at least 6 other orders. Those bowls were full to the top rim. We also asked for 2 orders of the pita chips but the young lady said there weren't anymore.... We asked if they could make some more, another employee said it would be about 3 minutes , which was fine. We also ordered 2 small drinks....S got the pineapple apple mint and I got the blueberry lavender. These were really good & refreshing The food was good but not worth almost 42.00 for half full bowls. According to the receipt the bowls were 12.22 each & I was charged an additional 3.20 for the harissa honey chicken. The pita bread was okay but a tad greasy I'm posting pics of the bowls, S eats really fast & scarfed down most of her half filled bowl but I even started eating. I took a pic of mine also after stirring it a bit I can't recommend this place because of the amount of food we received for 41.96 plus the young lady wasn't very friendly. It seemed like it was an issue with her because we asked if more pita chips could be made. Thankfully another employee said she would make some. We won't be coming back here. I originally gave 3 stars but after I read the other reviews & looked at the pics, I dropped it down to 2 stars. And as I looked for my order, I was yelled at and then told if I can't show the online order with my name (which the online order doesn't show names), then I can't get my order. Literally had to ho through an ordeal just to get a $20 rice bowl. That's insane and I'm not ordering from Cava lead alone this location again. read more
