My sister just got a guinea pig from this god awful place and the highly untrained employees said…read morethat the two we got were both regular, absolute bull crap. One of them turned out to be a fancy one that inherently have seizures and recently died with nothing we could do. A while back we took her to the vet because or a red eye and they gave her a full examination and said she was completely fine and healthy, more BS. This is the second time I've been tricked like this and I'm so absolutely fed the hell up with these untrained employees not being able to recognize a difference between animals breeds due to severe lack of training. I will most likely be raising my concerns with animal rights boards and organizations such as PETA to hopefully call out you and other organizations for failing to provide the proper information needed to care for these criminals and I will not be returning

Spoke with a young lady who at first was very happy to set up an appointment for me but once she started taking my info down she became more distant as I answered her questions. Her voice turned immediately less friendly when I said my dog was a Pitbull...then again when I mentioned she was a 9 year old on joint supplements. I told her I could provide proof of rabies (which is required, totally understandable) and that the supplements were just over the counter, not prescribed. "We're just really strict over here and if she has joint problems, we're gonna be propping her legs up to work on her." Yes...they have no problem doing that at the Petsmart's I've taken her to. And my dog's totally friendly with those techs. The young lady refused to finish making the appointment so...now i know why this place is rated so low. Thanks for making my pet feel so unwelcomed.

You have an assortment of diff reptiles, from monitors, to snakes, to iguanas, to geckos, etc. that you can choose to observe, pet, hold, or even buy. If you decide to buy anything, you also have all the items available to set up a tank for the first time or just stock up on some supplies if you already have an existing set up. The prices here were very competitive, there were exhibit deals happening all around. If you do want to hold a snake, or even take a picture with it, it will cost you at least $5 a round, so that was a bit costly.

What a fun event... even for a bunny lover like me, knowing that reptiles are probably my rabbits'…read moreworst enemy... the snakes would eat them, and the tortoise would outsmart them in a race, lol. Reptile Realms (aka the San Jose Reptile Show), for the last two years has been unable to hold the event at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (as they did annually pre-covid). So they expanded to holding the expo at the San Mateo County Event Center for 2022. Basically there are LOTS of reptile displays, with most of the creatures for sale, and all of them for show. We found mostly snakes, all kinds of sizes, some with very unique patterns, vendors willing to share plenty of knowledge and info about the species, and even some snakes visitors could hold (for free). Besides snakes, there were roaches, crickets, tarantulas, shaved mice, lizards, geckos, chameleons, bearded dragons, tortoises, and some species I can't even name. I realize not all were reptiles, but there was also reptile "food" for sale, and other creatures. And you could get up close and personal with these animals, it was so cool. They also sold clever animal T-shirts and hats, toys (lots of snake themed, but also random stuff like unicorn horns), habitats, plants, and food (for reptiles and for humans). The event took place mainly in a giant hall, so it felt spacious even with the crowds. There were no lines and no wait to enter. And there was plenty of parking (with a $15 fee which was more expensive than the admissions ticket). Some of the reptiles are just sooo cute, especially those baby tortoises, this is a great place to find a new pet. But not for me... my bunnies wouldn't like that.

When the kids were small, we would visit just to walk around and see all of the chickens, pigeons, and turkeys. No pressure to buy, just warmth and kindness. We recently acquired two baby chicks for one of our broody girls. Following specific instructions from the owner, we have had great success. Mama hen is so happy now. I am so thankful to have a local shop of this quality while living on the peninsula.

Easily one of the best feed store I've ever been to. Best In the Bay Area hands down…read more Lots of parking. They breed their own chicks in house which is a huge plus as you get it straight from the source. You see the walk through of the roosters and hens as well, literally the parents of your birds and they're all extremely healthy. The hens are also labeled and you're given a zoo-like biography of each breed which is amazing for those starting out + for kids to learn. They have all sorts of breeds, literally breeds I've never even heard of. The hatched chicks here are given mareks vaccination in house + sexed at birth for most breeds except silkies and a few others. I love how the staffs make themselves known but just let you wander and live in the moment without breathing down your back. The prices for feed and items are overall pretty good, items are labeled for the most part. Selection is huge. Many of the items are not priced with a label so they are just ignored and not bought as you can tell by the dust. One biggest drawback here that made it 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of pricing on some items and the chicks/pullets. Nobody has time to ask for pricing for each individual chick and the staffs don't have a list, they have to check manually for each on their register which is insane. Maybe the store management is too lazy to put the pricing? Maybe they priced chicks differently per customers? Who knows. Luckily the pullets has a pricing sheet and the staffs were amazing about it. Overall, I'd take your family here to buy farm item, feeds and learn about the breeds. If you have time to spare, you can ask about pricing for each or just buy elsewhere.
