Cheese Two Enchiladas - delicious!
Ashley H.

Delicious enchiladas every time! This is the go-to spot when a nice cheesy enchilada dinner plate sounds good. They also have some daily deals and of course taco Tuesday. Check them out! It's a 10/10 spot

So weird. Hadn't been to the original location in almost 5 decades when Celia and Perfecto ran the place after they expanded into the Tv store next door. Now it is run by two of their grandchildren. This is what SF is all aboutI was told there almost 20 locations (been to 6) all run by children and grandchildren of the founders. Wanted something simple for a Valentine's meal and got the classic Enchilada and Taco combination. Had fun little polaroids taken and had Heart shaped Churros. Izzy was a great waitress and the whole restaurant watched Olympic curling the whole time! Lol. Is was a great night at a nostalgic location.

Happy 415 day
Rebekah T.

We came here for 415 day after seeing a post on IG. It was a special night and the place was jam packed. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated. There were $1 Tacos, all kinds of drink specials and a special taco menu. The tacos were not the best I ever had, but they were good and affordable. My kid loved her kid's meal and the endless bowl of chips. We left stuffed and happy. The vibe was jumping, it was a fun and lively spot. I loved the music, lots of local music played for 415 day. As I looked around the dining room, I could see all the other tables having fun as well. Good spot for families, kids, groups, friends getting together, happy hours and date nights.

Michelada
Kaela A.

My boyfriend and I stopped by Saturday for a quick drink while waiting for our order at hook fish. We sat at the bar area and the bartender and staff were very friendly! I got the michelada and he got the carajillo. Both were delicious and strong! The michelada glass is huge lol as big as my heart. They offer complimentary chips and salsa and the salsas were very tasty. Brunch menu looked good, would deff come back to try!

Steak fajitas

To start off, service was AMAZING!! Our waitress was so friendly, sociable, and continuously checked on me and my friend. We came on taco tuesday, ordered some tacos and the $22 blended margarita pitcher. Let me tell you... that margarita's pretty strong, and for a good price!!! Really loved this spot, would be so down to come by again :)

CATERED FOOD and SERVICE 10 out of 10!! We catered our Elementary School Fundraising Gala with Celia's and they did NOT DISAPPOINT. :) I sent an inquiry through their website, and received a quick response from Phil (the owner). Phil asked some important questions about logistics of the event. We were on a tight budget, and he came up with a menu of dishes that were fair priced and could feed 200 people. Chimichangas, tacos rice beans, chips salsa and MORE! Day of the event: delivery: Everything was seamless when food was delivered. Sal helped us set up the food, while we were still running around with last minute set up. Everyone at the event couldn't get enough of the spread! Food was GONE. Everyone wiped it out (only 1/2 tray of flour tortillas leftover) We are so appreciative of how Phil and Sal (Sal delivered the food) went above and beyond for our event. This will not be the last time we ask Celia's "by the beach" to cater our School functions and other personal events. Food and service were outstanding!

House tacos
Brian T.

I had the mango pork tacos and the house tacos. They were incredibly lackluster. The pico and meat wasn't drained so the entire taco was soaked and dripping in water. The tortillas also weren't toasted which added to the sogginess. The whole taco kept ripping and fell apart before I could even eat it. I tried all 3 meats in the house and they didn't have enough seasoning to differentiate between the meats. It all felt very bland and had small portions of meat. The same goes for the mango. Also they need to update their menus. I went for taco Tuesday and the menu said $8 for the mango pork but was charged $9 on the bill. They were slammed and it took a while to even get the check so I didn't wanna bug them, but this price should be reflected on the menu. Servers/host were extremely kind though.

Skinny Girl Margarita

Serving SF since 1960. Why did I wait so long to dine here? The Ribeye Steak street tacos were so delicious. I washed them down with a Skinny Girl Margarita. Sorry, no room for dessert. Service was excellent. I need to come back!

The menu is extensive with plenty of options, which I appreciated. The food was a bit hit or miss. The calamari was definitely the standout and was cooked well. The nachos, however, needed some work. The chips were too flimsy and kept breaking, making them difficult to eat. We also ordered a Lemon Drop and an Old Fashioned, and both drinks were pretty mid and didn't leave much of an impression. Service was good throughout the visit, and the atmosphere makes it a solid place to grab a bite or watch a game. While this visit didn't completely wow me, I'd come back and give some different menu items a try.

For those of us who only eat outdoors, there are a few tables outside the bar that are pretty comfortable although it can get windy. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with friendliness, all of the menus we might need, and an explanation of drinks, beer and wine. We chose to go all out and got a small pizza, their delicious onion dip, meatballs - more on that later - and buffalo wings. I was a bit disappointed that the happy hour wine was a Chardonnay and not the Ferentino that they let me taste, but the replacement house May logger was delicious. My husband had a steam beer, which was also very good. Throughout the service was impeccable, and we actually met the manager, Jon, who had a long conversation with us about the history of the bar and how they were trying to be a neighborhood comfortable place which they certainly have succeeded at. Now for the food - the meatballs were the best I have ever had in San Francisco and I am Italian from New York so that's saying something. We actually let Jon know who told the chef and it turns out the chef is from New Jersey so that makes a lot of sense. The onion dip is something like I've never had before. It's a crème fraîche with scallions I think? And maybe a bit of garlic and housemaid chips. We ate every single bite and actually dipped our pizza crust in the rest of the dip. The margarita pizza was also very good and as I finished it off for lunch today, I can tell you it's just as good the next day. The buffalo wings were what I would call actual buffalo style - I could taste the butter, hot sauce and garlic powder like back in the day on the East Coast. The chicken itself was good, not fatty, and the sauce was just like I want it. They offered ranch and blue cheese dip, which was great. We then had further conversations with almost all the staff who were so welcoming and friendly. We don't live super nearby, but I know we're going to go back to dinner, because I am dying to get their pork chop that looked really good. They also came and helped us put the stuff in boxes and explained the best way to take pizza home, which I never knew before. I can't wait to go back again

They have happy hour on M-F from 3:30-5:30pm that we just missed but would like to try some other time. We ordered a bunch of items to share: - persian cucumbers - super crunchy, the flavor was good but felt like it could've been soaked longer so the flavor seeps more into the cucmber - roasted cauliflower - the sauce was delicious, the flavor was very unique, slightly on the sweeter side - sausage pizza (added mushrooms) - the mushrooms were a game changer, made the pizza taste even better - orchhiette pasta - favorite dish of the night, the pasta was al dente and the sauce they used was so flavorful with every bite, and the sausage in this was so good - not too salty or anything Service was also fantastic, they kept coming over and asking us if we're doing okay throughout our whole dinner. The vibes are nice too, they have a bar area and TV screens playing sports games.

Everything we tried was fresh and well poured, making it easy to enjoy more than one without feeling overwhelmed by the menu. One thing that really stood out is the food menu. There's a solid variety of options that pair perfectly with the beer, so it's not just a place to drink, it's a place to actually enjoy a full experience. The menu feels thoughtfully put together, with choices that are satisfying, shareable, and ideal for a relaxed beer hall setting. The Beer Hall delivers on all fronts: atmosphere, beer, and food. From the outside, The Beer Hall almost blended into its surroundings - I almost walked right by if it hadn't been for the neon "The Beer Hall" sign. The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. My friends sitting around me couldn't resist them either, and the mountain of fries disappeared in record time. The servers at the bar were very friendly and checked in on our group often. We spent a few hours enjoying our conversation and beer, overall having a fun, laid-back evening.

Her service, attention, and friendliness are consistently stellar; it's the kind of hospitality that makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time you walk in. Kelley is fantastic at helping with recommendations, whether we're trying something new or just can't decide. She also has an incredible sense for timing, especially with kids at the table. She makes a point to get their orders in quickly, which helps ward off delays (and the occasional hangry moment), and that level of awareness does not go unnoticed. Above all, what really stands out, beyond the great dining experience, is that Kelley remembers us. In a busy neighborhood spot, that personal touch means a lot and keeps us coming back. Do you love double-layered tortillas around your super-meaty tacos? Well, then Underdogs Too is your kinda place! =). A Nick's Way Taco is a taco with a crispy corn tortilla wrapped in a soft corn tortilla with Monterey Jack cheese, pinto beans, pico de gallo & guacamole. I ordered two tacos "Nick's Way" . The first was a regular Pollo taco (grilled chicken) and the other was a Pollo Asado taco (shredded chicken raised by local provider Mary's Chicken). Both tacos came with a lot of pico de Gallo, and a HUGE dollop of Guacamole! After trying both of the tacos back to back, I think I'll go back for the regular Pollo (grilled chicken) version, as I found it more tasty.. PRO TIP: These little tacos are very filling! Next time, I'll just order just one for lunch - that's plenty, unless I was absolutely starving.... I first experienced these tacos when they had a booth at a local street fair, and was happy to happen upon this little corner of 46tj/Taraval way out here on the farthest Avenues in the Outer Sunset. Despite its proximity to the Ocean just a couple of blocks down the street, we visited here on a warm day to again savor this special style of taco. Worth coming back for sure. GETTING HERE: Easy transit access via the L Taraval Light Rail line which stops just across the street. Parking is relatively doable if you are willing to walk a block (worst case).
