There supper cheap on the bacon !!! I did t request an egg sandwich I want a bacon egg and cheese !!

They have a really cool decor and play fun 50's music. The food is good and the staff is nice UNTIL you nicely ask the girl who is making your food to change her gloves because you saw her ringing someone up any touching money right before with the same gloves on. Everyone looked at me like I was public enemy number 1.. But come on! That's disgusting!! I mentioned to a woman who looked like the manager why don't you have one person ring that way the glove thing is not an issue. She said "The owner don't want that." I hated the way I felt after for just stating the obvious. No body said a word to me. Not even thank you when I paid. read more

I have not been visiting Cella Bagels much since my last review regarding the concerns of one particular employee, and for that particular reason. I went in the other day to a pleasant surprise... the employee mentioned in my 1st review is now gone and they brought back a familiar face. What a difference one change up makes. Friendly, happy environment, service with a smile and actually wearing a mask properly! and food good as always. I wouldn't wish anyone to be out of a job, especially in these times. But when someone is working in food service, representing owners and their livelihoods and in a pandemic... to be friendly and abide by simple rules regarding a mask...should be a no brainer. Went this morning (Sunday) around 8:00am. Not very crowded. Only two people ahead of me in line. Why 1 star? I ordered 2 eggs on a roll with ham. More specifically i stated "Two eggs and ham on a roll with salt, pepper, ketchup" , the teenage boy taking my order then asked what I wanted it on. Apparently he doesn't listen very well so I had to restate my wanting it on a roll. Waited 25 minutes while I watched people who ordered after me, some with multiple egg sandwiches, get their orders while I still didn't have mine. Absolutely no excuse for this. Since I was very pressed for time on my way to work I didn't have time to ask for a Manager or confront the dismal looking teen as to why I didn't have my order yet. I did look on the counter and in the back for a stray sandwich and there wasn't one in sight. I won't be going back. Prices are higher than other shops so overall it's just not worth it in my book. I can't believe some of the bad reviews here. Well anyway I love this place. Bagels are awesome and the food is PHENOMENAL!! I usually have a bacon and cheese omelette on a bagel but I've never had a bad experience here and I go several times a week. They are busy as hell. But doesn't that mean that they're good? I recommend going late to avoid the crowd. The one drawback is the 1950's theme. Ugh! But I usually order out and don't have to listen to that horrible 1950's music. This place draws quite a crowd, and boasts a lot of regulars. It does that for a reason - these bagels are VERY good. I'd say, they are closest to what I grew up on - a little crisp and shiny on the outside, dense and chewy inside. I've been going here now, since it opened. Once every other week, if not more. Service is ALWAYS good, even when very crowded. If you're going to sit down and eat at a table, they even bring your food out to you, and don't pressure you to pay until you've finished your meal. I've had egg sandwiches, and lunch-type sandwiches from Cella, and have always been happy. Is this a gushing, raving review? Hell yeah! It's rare to find a bagel place WORTH raving about, so when it happens, I'm gonna go for it! Don't miss the special cream cheeses either - they have an "EVERYTHING" cream cheese that is simply amazing. I take some home, and add it to scrambled eggs when I cook my own breakfast - YUM! In all seriousness - I simply do NOT understand the one and 2 star reviews here - It's been months, and I can't validate any of the complaints. Even the parking problem is being resolved - they're so popular, they've had to break into adjoining lots - good for them! This establishment is very convenient for me so my review comes after going several times. The bagels are ok; but there is absolutely nothing special about them. Even the fact that the bagels are made on sight isn't special since they don't taste any better than bagels at any other bagel place. Which is fine in and of itself, they aren't bad by any means ... The problem is that Cella charges premium prices for ordinary bagels ... Which means they are over priced. On that alone I'd recommend saving the few extra dollars and go else where. Where Cella excels at being bad is in there customer service. I was accused of stealing once since the guy who finely handed me my order didn't see another worker ring me up; he wouldn't take my word for it over a $10 order, instead he chose to risk humiliating a customer... What's worse is that I had my 2 year old daughter in my arms so didn't quit fit the suspicious look ether. They mixed up my order more than once, which sucks since they wrap everything so nice I don't know it until I get home. They are awfully slow to first take your order and than make your order. My wife once spent 40 minuets there waiting on her order for "bagels". Like I said the place is terribly convenient for me which is why I continued to go there so many times even with the bad service and over priced goods. But my wife and I decided yesterday after yet another mixed up order that the convenience simple isn't good enough any more and will from now on go out of our way to get our bagels. We gave Cella plenty of chances to win us over and they simply failed. I wrote this review so that perhaps they will fix up their act ... I will try them again in a while and see. read more

All I can say, is that since Cella opened, my family has been loyal and HAPPY. The service is friendly, fast and has a family like feel. The decor is classic 50's with some cool collectables to check out. The kids love it!! The prices are reasonable and I like the fact that I am supporting a family operation. Bagels - Large, crunchy on the outside, spongy on the inside. Whenever I bring them into my office, all I hear is "These are the best bagels," "This Bacon Cheddar cream cheese ROCKS!" The egg sandwiches? Large, plentiful, not greesy, always well cooked and not thrown together like most delis. Lunch sandwiches? Generous on fillings, always fresh bread... rivals any good sandwich shop and blows places like Subway and Quiznos out of the water...and they have some interesting and tasty signature sandwiched. The kids like that they have "the best chicken cutlets. This summer we are having them cater our sons birthday. I'll keep you posted on the Catering. Thanks for reading. read more

The bagels are excellent. The food in general is good. The place itself is clean and beautiful. Why only two stars? Order accuracy. I ordered egg bagel with bacon and eggs - got a different bagel. I ordered a whole wheat everything with butter - I got it with cream cheese. Another time I ordered a whole wheat everything with butter I get a whole wheat with butter. Nothing worse than getting your food home and finding out the order is wrong. It's now to the point where I double check my order before I leave the store. It's really a shame they can't get it right the first time. If you don't mind double checking your order or intend to eat there then give this place another star. My only other gripe is I wish the had a different brand of coffee. It's not bad but I've had better. read more

I have always passed this place & wanted to try it out. First of all, the shop is SO CLEAN! The staff were nice, young teens. I ordered a sunflower bagel with cream cheese. It was so good! Ok...I've been here a few times at different points of the day. Now, early-ish in the morning on a weekend I expect this place to be busy and the staff to be hauling butt and can forgive them for their lack of a friendly demeanor. But, when I go there at odd hours of the day or when the place really isn't that busy, I expected to find the staff more relaxed and bit more friendly, but no, they're actually kind of pushy and put off all the time. All that aside. The decor is cute, all 50's diner themed with the music too boot and the food is good. I've always gotten the same thing, the #4, two eggs with cheese and choice of meat on your choice of roll, bread, or bagel (I always choose a whole wheat everything bagel). The bagels are always fresh (I believe they make them there fresh daily) and soooo surprisingly soft. The eggs always come out the way I ask for them and it's just never a disappointment. The prices are very reasonable, so if you want a deli style breakfast that is just a step up above standard deli-fare, this is the place to go. read more

Don't waste your time with Cella bagels I order pancakes and orange juice. What I got was cold pancakes, 3 plastic forks, no knife, no butter, no syrup and orange juice. When I called to complain I was told hold on then someone just dropped the phone on a counter, where I listened to the staff make some very rude comments about a customer who just left the store and after over 5 minutes I just hung up. read more

Today is my first time in the restaurant and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, you have friends of yours sitting at a table discussing the worlds problems when Mike's sandwich was ready. He didn't answer the first time so the guy called his name again. When the woman calls his name he got really nasty and told her she needed to relax. He proceeded to call her a bitch and a cunt. Perhaps you should ban that guy. I stopped in at Cella Bagels while my car was getting an oil change. I'm pretty sure I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before someone even looked at me. Three people working, all with their own task. But if that's the case, who's working the counter? You could see all three workers facial expressions and body language. It's obvious they don't want to do what they're doing. I get it. Most people hate their jobs. But in an industry that deals with food. Taste is as much important as customer service. It shouldn't be that difficult to pull off in a bagel store. I didn't order a filet mignon. But once again, business in Selden never ceases to amaze me and for that reason, I am out. read more

I come here often to get bagels for my kids, but today was the first time I actially ate one- and I was so disappointed! The place is cute and the staff is better than other local bagel shops.... But my egg everything with scallion cream cheese was sub-par. The bagel was too dense and inderseasoned- but it was alright. The cream cheese however, really did not work at all! It wasn't fluffy like it should be from a bagel shop. I felt as if I were eating block cream cheese from shoprite. Also- there were about 3 scallion pieces in my entire bagel. Great place just had a killer tuna on an everything bagel. My wife just raved about her two eggs on a roll, it sounds easy but doing egg sandwiches is truly an art. Honestly shocked to see some of the poorer reviews. This is my new go to place. They're so friendly and I've only been coming a few weeks on weekends and they already remember me! The bagels are unbeatable. I haven't ordered an egg sandwich yet but I'm ready next round, had a bite of my boyfriends and it was actually incredible. If this place were located somewhere in middle America, I would probably think their bagels are adequate. Unfortunately, THIS IS NY!!! These bagels are simply not up to par. Most of the time, they aren't cooked enough and they simply don't measure up to any of the other bagel shops in the area. Furthermore, the service is awful. The people are nice but everything moves SO slowly. It's quite frustrating to see 8 people behind the counter and still have it take 20 minutes for an egg sandwich. I will say that I've ordered an ommelette there and it was great. Additionally, they deliver, so that is something that gives them a leg up on the competition in the area. Overall, I would avoid Cella Bagels. Nice people, but their bagels are terrible and the service is poor, at best. read more

Impossible to place order on phone..They answer and put you on hold for 20 mins..when you call again and tell them they forgot you they do it again! Have a person assigned to answer phone..it's a mad house going there to order in person and 45 min wait for order and getting food in person. Need better management the system makes no sense.
