Yes, I'm aware bacon is a greasey meat. I wasn't aware that it could be served this greasey. I ordered a breakfast platter consisting of two eggs, bacon, and home fries for $6 or $7. I was given 3 strips of super greasey bacon, the saddest excuse of home fries I've tasted, and 2 eggs. Usually home fries are fried or cooked in a skillet, or some sort of stove top. Here they're microwaved in front of your very eyes. Just imagine diced, boiled potatoes with no seasoning. I could have gotten a plate at the diner for the same price with two times the amount of food, and a far better taste. read more

I've only gotten bagels with cream cheese but so far all the various flavors of both that I've tried have been delicious. The bagels are cooked perfectly and you never wind up with a stale leftover. Egg sandwiches are always cooked just how you want them and come with coffee during the week. Go for a bagel breakfast or lunch - they make delicious designer sandwiches. Try the roast beef with horseradish. The place has a '50s theme and is cute and clean. The owner and employees are super nice. Today I left my wallet at home and instead of me having to drive home to get my cash they told me to just come back some day in the future. I have recently reviewed this place and I was impressed with the courteous staff and the bagels are great. So I came back with a friend. She had apparently gotten a remote start at jazz audio before it moved and told me it was the same owner. She said they were running a special and must have given her car the "cheap special" treatment because she had to have it redone elsewhere. I guess they had screwed up the electrical system. What's crazy about this, is that she said the guy who helped her was clearly high! That's BAD business. But figured that was a long time ago and bagels aren't cars, right? As she and I were chatting, she darted her eyes towards the register so I could turn and see the owner. He was walking around, watching the employees. I turned around and continued eating. Next thing I hear is him SCREAMING at a woman. A much older woman, and he had her cornered between the registers and what I assumed to be the back kitchen. I scanned the dining room and everyone looked dumbfounded. Wasn't much I couldn't make out because we were sitting too close to the jukebox (which is annoyingly loud!) You just don't treat employees, PEOPLE and especially A WOMAN that way. My other friends were going to see about having their son's birthday party catered by Cella. Terrible! I called in an order, arrived 5 minutes later, after 20 minutes of waiting they started to "cook" the order. Home fries are wrapped in wax paper and microwaved. I placed an order over the phone and they said the wait would be 15 minutes. So when I got there 15 minutes later, they were all standing and talking and no one asked me if I needed help. When I finally got someone's attention I told them I placed an order over the phone. I payed and left. I come home and see that they messed up my entire order. Both of my sandwiches didn't have cheese even though they charged me for it. And they put my eggs on the wrong bagel. I would suggest to skip this bagel place and go to another one. read more

This gets an average score for me. The ambiance is great especially compared to other bagel places in the area. But the food is not so impressive. I got a wrap, egg whites, turkey some veggies and I was so disappointed. It was tiny! Like pretty damn small and was bland. They have a nice selection and menu and the bagels are made there, so they get high marks for that, but the prepared food is not so good. I live within a couple of miles from 8 bagel stores including Cella's. I've tried them all with my teen age son dinning by my side. Cella Bagels is our favorite in town. Their bagels are boiled and then baked and that is why they taste great and are always soft and chewy. My kid loves their french toast bagel. We usually go on the weekends which is busy so sometimes you have to wait because Everything is fresh and made to order so I don't mind. I like the self serve coffee station so you can make your coffee the way you like it and get a free refill. The portions are generous and the the prices are low. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is 50's Rock and Roll Cool and the food is excellent! read more

I have driven by this bagel place many times in the selden area. One of the last places I would have thought to have gone for bagels. One morning, me and my girlfriend decided to try something new. When you first walk in, you get the feel of being in the 1950's, from the furniture to the music. They have a pretty big menu and a good amount of drinks available. BEST place ever! Bagels are the best on LI without a doubt. Every breakfast meal is so good. Lunch rocks here too! ANYTHING that Donnamarie makes is awesome. (That's an understatement.) Okay so I NEVER write reviews. Being that I am writing one this means my experience was completely horrible. If I were able to give no stars I would. I'm not sure why I keep coming back here when the place CONTINUOUSLY SUCKS. My boyfriend called in 3 egg sandwiches. Once we went there to pick them up we waited about 15-20 minutes so there was pretty much no point in calling ahead. The eggs tasted like straight rubber, the sandwich was thrown together and looked like mess, the ketchup was all over including all over the outside of the bagel. If you cant cook eggs and put together an egg sandwich you have no business owning a bagel shop. read more
