This is a cute little hidden gem. Came here for date night & everything was great. From the atmosphere to the drinks & food. I got the whiskey sour because they didn't have anymore mint to make a whiskey smash ): to be honest, I'm a bartender and I know I should be more trusting but after a couple of horrible bartenders messing up my whiskey sours, I have been very hesitant when ordering so. I was also nervous because the bartender wasn't using any measuring jiggers but to my surprise, it came out wonderful & delicious. Our bartender was great but overheard it was his last day there ): my boyfriend loved his manhattan as well! Food: We got deviled eggs, crab cakes, Italian sausage flatbread & the charcuterie & cheese plate. Everything was fantastic! To my surprise, the deviled eggs was my favorite! Definitely a must try! One of the staff was rude. A friend Bought a bottle of wine And Gave us 1 glass unknowingly brought out of the bar. The staff came and grab the arm and and took the glass off her hand accusing her of stealing it. We made mistake by taking it out but she could have asked it in a nice way. The bathroom is not flushing well so the line was long crowding the area but it's not only us using the Bathroom coming from the park, as a courtesy we bought a bottle of wine. This review is long overdue. I have been coming here for about a year now. I have never had a bad wine or a bad dish here. I have gotten to know Terry (the owner) and she is as sweet as can be. The service has always been fantastic and one of their main servers (Robin) is always on top of things. The ambiance is fantastic and is easy going. Always great talking with new people every time I'm there. I am a picky Italian so I am very picky about my food and wine. Love this place and highly recommend....Good job girls. This place is so cute! I ordered the fondue, flatbread, and the charcuterie plate. They have wine flights and a great cocktail menu. The wine list is extensive. They serve spa water. The decor is very charming. This is a great spot for a first date or for girlfriends to recharge after a long day of shopping. The plates are small and shareable. The servers were really attentive. Tried this place with some friends the other day. Quiet cozy spot inside. We shared a flat bread and a cheese plate. Both were pretty good. We each got different drinks. I got the sparkling flight because I love me a good flight, and it wasn't much more than an individual drink. Service was a little slow, so that's why only four stars. I've been to this small, quaint bar multiple times of the years and have always had a great time. The atmosphere is homey, but stylish and not at all like a lot of the new industrial looking beer bars cropping up left and right. This place has character. They often have live music, usually 1 or 2 people and that makes it extra special. The drinks are well made and delicious. I love their appetizers and particularly recall some delicious jalapeño poppers among others. 2 stars for good wine, good venue, and good music. Where did the other 3 stars go? Here's the reason why: I ordered 2 glasses of wine and my tab came out to $24.09. I paid with $100 bill and got back $74 dollars. My change should have been $75.91 right? When I asked the bartender that gave me my change, she told me she didn't give out 'change' and that she rounds it up. I told her I got the wrong change regardless. She rudely says "so you want a dollar back?" I told her no and that she made a mistake. She still seemed confused and frustrated. I ended up dropping the matter and left her an additional $2 dollar tip on top of what she shorted me on. This might be the first time in my life where the 'round up' on change favored the business. In which case she rounded up $1.91... I would suggest the manager or owner give simple counting training or better customer service training. The customer is always right and in this case I was definitely right. For the cost and venue, I would expect better service. read more

I like the way you work it Cellar Door, no diggity. Happy hour specials (Thursdays and Fridays), lots of seats, and complete and utter control over cheese plates!!! It is off the main D-Town P-Town drag but near the Firehouse which makes it a great spot for pre-show drinks and it's easier to find a parking spot. Here comes a categorical rant that has a happy ending: I have to admit that small plates/tapas downright piss me off. Brilliant business model but at most places they are overpriced and lets call a spade a spade; small plates are synonymous with tapas which is the spanish way for saying snacks. And any snack over $10 has the potential to piss me off (unless it's delicious). Here they are at an appropriate appetizer price point. Happy ending time: you can customize your cheese plate here!! And they have 2 Cowgirl Creamery cheeses! Single cheese $6, 2 cheeses $11, and 3 cheeses for $15. The same is true for their meat choices. Brilliant! With a name like Cellar Door I expected a darker, dankier place. It's neither because it is warm, because of the fireplace, and inviting with great service. I am glad we chose to come here before a show. read more

This is absolutely the most adorable lounge/wine setting I have found in awhile. Although it looks fancy, the mood is entirely casual as you hear voices chattering and laughing in the background. Picture this: I'm sitting by the fireplace sipping on my glass of "blends". I was debating on either the cab flight our blends flight, but chose the blends as recommended by my server. I happily went along because I'm always up for trying something new! And speaking of trying new things, talk about their menu! Their small plates and flatbreads scream the words "intensely creative". I went in for their pear, Cambodia, fig jam, and toasted almond flatbread which had to be the best I've ever had. Midway, I opted for their chorizo stuffed dates with fontina and smoked paprika. It surprisingly tasted like a sweet sausage, too sweet for me to finish all three pieces but I managed to finish the task. All in all, my experience was absolutely lovely. Although I was in my own company (aka loner) my excitement was like jumping beans in my chest, if that makes any sense. The one of a kind menu kept me on my toes, along with the help of the three glasses of wine hehe. I recommend this joint to everyone looking for a fun time read more

Cellar Door is such a classy, cute place to catch up with friends during summer evenings. My 3 friends and I sat outside, and I never felt like we were unattended to (usually an issue when sitting outside at other places). The servers were also very attentive and helpful! I also want to commend this place on their emphasis on service and experience. My friends and I didn't know there was a half-glass price option, so we were surprised when we saw the full glass price reflected on our bill (our naive college minds thought we found a very cheap wine bar, silly us :) ). We explained our confusion given the lack of clarity on the menu, and the server apologized and immediately changed the bill to reflect the half-glass prices for us (she said they usually explain the different size options, and our server may have just forgotten). read more

This is a cute and cozy wine bar! A few tables, plenty of counter space with stools, and a little seating area with couches in front of a fire place. Perfect for a date night! The lighting is dim and romantic, but not so overwhelming that you feel awkward with a platonic friend. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Randomly found this place after making a few wrong turns and needing a glass of wine. Cute little place with bar area, main seating area, and some tables outside as well. I love the concept of having so many wine flight options. Pretty much any wine you can get there you can get in a flight. I had the interesting red blend flight which was very good. I love that they have local wines too! The ladies working that day were very friendly. Is nice they have some craft beer options on draft. The food menu looks good and from looking at what other people were eating everything looked great. Was introduced to this place by some friends. We went for the Thursday happy hour. Nice food. Friendly staff. Good wine. The one area for improvement is the noise buffering. Even thought the place was not full, it was pretty loud for conversation. It appears they have made some efforts to address the acoustics, but needs more work. This is a cute place with a great wine selection and an awesome location right in downtown. The patio is a great place to grab a nice glass of wine and appetizer while catching up with friends. The "by the glass" list can get pricey, so I suggest going with the bottle. From what I hear, this place starts getting packed on Friday nights when the concerts at the live venue across the street begins, when when we went on an afternoon on a Saturday there was plenty of seating and plenty of servers. It was an op for the wife and I to spend some alone time. I Yelped 'wine bars' and this one came up. We went early on a Saturday around 5:30. We walked in and had the whole place to ourselves. We sat at a window. The service was great. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines they were serving. The cheese boards were vary nice and the wine pours generous. By the time we left the place was hopping. The only knock I have on the place is that they don't decant their wines. I don't understand why not with the amount of bottles they open on a given night. read more

I enjoyed this cozy wine bar in the heart of downtown Pleasanton. I went with a friend for a catch up hang out. I love their flight options and choice of half or full glass or bottle of wine. I started with a half glass of the 2012 Fortress Cab Sav from Sonoma - described as round and lush with notes of blueberry, dark fruit, mocha and a hint of spice. It was so delicious, I didn't want to try anything else and so got a full glass. We also went with the cheese platter for two and the ham, mozzarella and caramelized onion flatbread. the flatbreads are AMAZING!! Sunday afternoon/evening brought with it a live singer/guitarist who had a musical style similar to that of Ed Sheeran. Classy, laid-back, comfortable wine bar with top notch wines and food menu. Great wine choices- I tried the Zin flight and the Pinot both were excellent. There is a fire place with Club Chairs which made for a cozy intimate gathering. The wait staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were so reasonable. This was my first visit and they made me a customer for life! The owner was kind enough to come and chat with my group and made us feel right at home. Our group ordered crab cakes & mushroom pizza + a hummus veg dish. All very well done. Came here for a ladies night out. The ambiance was nice and inviting, and the staff were really nice. In terms of service, our waitress must have zoned out about our order. She came back 5 min after taking out order to ask for our order again. Tiss tiss. We also asked for some water, and the waitress was carrying glasses between her elbows. Why don't they use trays? Not sure if I liked someone manhandling the glass I am about to drink from. I drank the Zinfandel Flight. It was good. The menu pricing is a bit strange. Why would the flight be the same price as buying the glasses separately? Seems odd to me. Overall the place is nice. Has mediocre service. read more

Well I come here from Danville to visit a friend and this is my third visit here and all I can say is the service sucks. Wether it's busy or slow it takes way to long to get a drink. No one has come by my table on a Saturday night for 15 min and ask me if I need anything. My husband is at the bar to get 3 cocktails and not even one deep and it's been 15 mins.
