Checked out a new spot for lunch and this is going to definitely be a new go to. Cafeteria style with essentially something for everyone and huge portions especially for the price especially in the loop. The rice bowl I tried was delicious, and the peapods were perfectly crisp, which was a nice touch. We'll be back!

Buried in the basement of the Board of Trade. No wait. Buried in the CELLAR of the Board of Trade. Yeah that's cute. And dang, the Board of Trade also has market makers and what not, who are "sellers" when they're not buyers. Yep, this is getting kind of amazing right now. It's like a true word and then a pun to boot. Beat that anybody. This old place is amazing at being funny at comedy. And old (as hell) it is. The Board of Trade is THE iconic building making LaSalle Street.... Lasalle Street. Once, about 20 years ago, it was still a bustling center of trading, filled with vitality and vigor. Now it's the same dudes (who aren't dead) hanging out in a cafeteria on long breaks cause all the computer nerds are doing most of the trading online. On Friday's, they serve fish sandwiches. Made out of huge piles of deep fried fish. According to Al, who I work with, and has frequented Cellar's market every now and then since probably the 1880s, the fish is definitely cod or possibly could be haddock. But at any rate is definitely a whitefish. Thanks Al. Old people are really helpful and on point. I can't understand why floor trading went away at all right now. But it doesn't matter anyway, does it. It's deep fried fish sticks in the form of a fish fillet. Nothing special. With a lemon wedge and either one portion of tartar sauce or two (one please). There's a cheese slice option (no thank you) and on the way out you can grab a small plastic cup full of hot sauce (yes please). It's the kind of meal you get when you're old and near death. Hopefully with a side of jello cubes (which are fun and delicious). Now I love a gluttonous, cheaply made sandwich and side of jello as much as the next senior citizen. But I have to say, bearing witness to this place was depressing. It looks like it was last decorated in 1990 when the money was still good and the people working here were still cutting edge. Now it's a dated cafeteria. Old people and old big ass old tvs up on the old wall and no kale or any glutton free options or anything. I might be doing a little magical remembering here, but that's what it felt like. Like an old tech crappy cafeteria that's behind the times. A spitting image of the old tech floor that's stumbling towards it's inevitable demise. Fish sandwhich at 12. Matlock at 2. Bingo at 4. Maybe a nice movie after that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nz7hMvBJeg

Little Bad Wolf - Bad Burger and a side of mac and cheese

The burger was juicy and the bun was soft; didn't feel like I had to unhinge my jaw just to get a bite like with some other burgers. The toppings for the burger paired harmoniously with the patties, with the pickles adding texture and bite. The fries paired with the burger were honestly whatever, but the spicy aoli paired with it elevated eating the fries. We also got an elote app to share. I did enjoy the cheese and corn and how warm and melty they were, but I think it could've gone without the avocado. The mac and cheese though, now that was absolutely delicious. It was gooey and soft, with the breadcrumbs and bacon adding texture and smokiness. The drinks I got, the sylvan and green eyes, were a little strong for me (I prefer sweeter), but nonetheless excellently mixed. If you like strong, classic flavors, these are for you.

Loved the 90s female R&B playlist they had going! Little Bad Wolf has been on my list FOR YEARS to try the burger! My husband got the burger with fried onions and I got some Bao because those also looked delicious and were a popular menu item. Honestly the 3 stars are only that high because of the service. Our server was friendly and attentive + the food came out hot and quick. Unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. The burger was swimming in a puddle of grease and just picking it up made your hands greasy + was dripping grease. The fries that came with it were floppy, soggy, and sad...but at least warm? I personally wouldn't order this again. The Bao were better, but small for the price and honestly were just okay? It was nice they gave you sauces you could add, but I found the Bao's to already have enough sauce so I didn't need them. Overall I left feeling confused and disappointed. I don't feel the need to come back here - Little Bad Will was a one and done experience for me.

Everything we ate was great and would could out with impeccable timing. The butter with the rolls was not as truffle-y than what I read about. The spicy tuna roll was in point and the drinks strong but hitting the spot. We tried the pork chop and while great we would opt for something more savory next time. The vodka rigatoni was great but again I have other items on the menu to try. We closed out with sticky date cake which was a bit sweet. I took a few bites and ended up sharing the rest. The service was amazing and the restaurant itself gave off old school meets modern vibes.

We started with the artichoke gratin and the salmon Caesar salad, and both were absolutely unreal. The flavors and quality were next level. My ribeye was cooked perfectly -- an incredible char on the outside, medium rare inside exactly as ordered, and seasoned unbelievably well. The mushroom casserole may have honestly been the best mushrooms I've ever had. My daughter's vodka rigatoni was top notch and packed with flavor. We finished with the sticky cake for dessert, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. On top of all that, our server Jenna was a total pro -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best dinners we've had in a long time. Can't wait to come back.

I chose a seat at the bar, and without much trigger got into a nice conversation with other patrons. But why was I there again? Oh yes, the food. OMG, it was delicious: a winter salad, half a duck and an affogato. The portions were not shabby at all, and I am glad that the server warned me from another initial consideration which would definitely have been too much. I enjoyed every bite of all items, flavorful, tender and juicy, and simply on point. Will definitively come back when I return to Chicago. PREVIOUS REVIEW Very popular place and hence rather hard to get in. But the wait for once is worth it. The menu items, which come in small portions (tapas size), are very special and not to be found anywhere else. As surprising as some of the items may sound, they all looked great (even the once on other people's plates), and the ones I could get to taste were very special, interesting flavors, and very good. No specific recommendations but would suggest to leave some space for lemon panna cotta. Casual and trendy atmosphere on the Magnificent Mile. Definitely will go back again when in Chicago.
