Checked out a new spot for lunch and this is going to definitely be a new go to. Cafeteria style with essentially something for everyone and huge portions especially for the price especially in the loop. The rice bowl I tried was delicious, and the peapods were perfectly crisp, which was a nice touch. We'll be back!

Buried in the basement of the Board of Trade. No wait. Buried in the CELLAR of the Board of Trade. Yeah that's cute. And dang, the Board of Trade also has market makers and what not, who are "sellers" when they're not buyers. Yep, this is getting kind of amazing right now. It's like a true word and then a pun to boot. Beat that anybody. This old place is amazing at being funny at comedy. And old (as hell) it is. The Board of Trade is THE iconic building making LaSalle Street.... Lasalle Street. Once, about 20 years ago, it was still a bustling center of trading, filled with vitality and vigor. Now it's the same dudes (who aren't dead) hanging out in a cafeteria on long breaks cause all the computer nerds are doing most of the trading online. On Friday's, they serve fish sandwiches. Made out of huge piles of deep fried fish. According to Al, who I work with, and has frequented Cellar's market every now and then since probably the 1880s, the fish is definitely cod or possibly could be haddock. But at any rate is definitely a whitefish. Thanks Al. Old people are really helpful and on point. I can't understand why floor trading went away at all right now. But it doesn't matter anyway, does it. It's deep fried fish sticks in the form of a fish fillet. Nothing special. With a lemon wedge and either one portion of tartar sauce or two (one please). There's a cheese slice option (no thank you) and on the way out you can grab a small plastic cup full of hot sauce (yes please). It's the kind of meal you get when you're old and near death. Hopefully with a side of jello cubes (which are fun and delicious). Now I love a gluttonous, cheaply made sandwich and side of jello as much as the next senior citizen. But I have to say, bearing witness to this place was depressing. It looks like it was last decorated in 1990 when the money was still good and the people working here were still cutting edge. Now it's a dated cafeteria. Old people and old big ass old tvs up on the old wall and no kale or any glutton free options or anything. I might be doing a little magical remembering here, but that's what it felt like. Like an old tech crappy cafeteria that's behind the times. A spitting image of the old tech floor that's stumbling towards it's inevitable demise. Fish sandwhich at 12. Matlock at 2. Bingo at 4. Maybe a nice movie after that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nz7hMvBJeg

Great selection of food. The southwest salad is awesome and definitely worth the walk to cellars. And the guys working there are super fast!

With a cozy locals vibe, there was a mix of young professionals on laptops and families starting the morning. The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. I don't know what they put in the bread or what magical place they bought the cheese from, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I'm in Chicago again, La Malinche is on my list of must visit spots.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot. It's an artists dream and sets a positive time for any gathering.

I had the regular coffee flight and their valentine special coffee flight. Their drinks were soooo good and tastes just like how you would expect it to taste. I cannot wait to come here and try other drinks! I would definitely come here for coffee if I am ever in the area. The price is decent, the taste is amazing, and the people here are super friendly. The owner said they took over the store next door to expand the coffee shop, so stay tune for an expansion? Hands down one of the most legit coffee spots I would keep coming back to even if it's out of the way sometimes. My husband ordered a bagel sandwich cause he was hungry and we thought it was fine. If you're ever in the area, you must come here for the coffee! They even use the good ice so that way your drinks stays cold and not watered down immediately! IYKYK

Why would you not order a flight to try a variety of drinks all at once? We had the hibiscus lemonade and matcha flight, the mango con crema and banana con crema were the standouts. We went on a weekend and there was a long line but it moved pretty quickly. Limited seating space but there are also chairs and tables on the outside. Street parking available. They also offer brunch food items which we did not get to try. But overall cute shop with a variety of speciality drinks that I will definitely try in the future.
