Attempted to call several times to place an order for pick up. No one answered. It's St. Patrick's Day, I get it. Busy preparing for the holiday. I even attempted to use the option mentioned on their recording, to click the Order on Toast option. It didn't work. So, I finally walk down three blocks to wait on line for food, which took 5 minutes, Waited in line for 5 more minutes only to find out that they are only accepting CASH. NO SIGN ANYWHERE. The girl taking the orders tells me, only cash. "There's an ATM around the corner you could use" Which meant walking to the ATM through the crowd, paying an astronomical fee to use the ATM as well as get charged by my bank, getting back in line and having to wait for my food. No thank you. I get you're a busy establishment that apparently has great food. I'll never know because I'm not paying over $5 in fees to use an ATM to find out. You should make it known on social media and your site that you are not taking credit cards. Mention of ATMs available doesn't make this clear. read more

I used to be assigned to port Charlotte area for work for almost a year back in 2017-2018. So when I stumbled across this Irish pub that literally takes you to what it feels like you are across the pond in a pub dancing and drinking the night away. When I came in back in 17/18 it was loud and the music was LIVE. It was a wild time, the Irish music and the jig. Too bad I didn't drink back then either. I also remember that they didn't have just colcannon back then either. I swear I remember them giving you a option. Not going to lie the colcannon is absolutely disgusting but thats my preference. It taste like straight up cabbage. Anyways, I came back last weekend and asked for the Brenton Chicken with just fries "chips" and extra to sub out the colcannon and told them absolutely no colcannon as i did not like it, what did I get? Colcannon! The put the sauce for the Brenton on top of the colcannon and the Brenton on top. So even when I went in for a but I had the bitter taste of the cabbage in my mouth with every bite. They did make a right but its the principle of the matter. They have a rosemary cream sauce that is too die for, little salty but man oh man is it delicious. Do not know if I will be back again after all of that. Life was different before covid and I just feel this place has gone down hill since then. read more

I used to enjoy going to the Celtic Ray, but it has really gone downhill and just keeps getting worse. The food portions have gotten ridiculously small, and it honestly tastes like it was previously frozen, defrosted, and then reheated before being served. Definitely not worth the prices they charge. This food is "NOT" fresh and nowhere near as good as it used to be. The atmosphere here has also changed for the worse. The staff isn't outright rude, but they're not friendly either--just indifferent, with no real personality or effort to make customers feel welcome. I have been to Ireland 12 times. This is an authentic Irish Pub and the best Guinness in Florida and maybe the USA. Kevin and Max, the owners are constantly upgrading the Pub. Having recently returned from our first trip to the UK, Celtic Ray was a fantastic reminder of our vacation. It definitely scratched the British Pub itch, even though it's technically an Irish Pub. I had the fish and chips and while not quite as good as it is across the pond, Celtic Ray does a great job at getting pretty close and the generous portion size definitely helps. My wife ordered the Breton Chicken. The menu says it's chicken breast pieces in a rosemary Chardonnay cream sauce but I'm fairly certain they left out that it was made by angels. Everything about this dish was perfect...and has been consistent each of the times we've been back since tasting it...it's been 2 weeks and we've gone 3 times. We might have a problem. I wish they had actual malt vinegar for the chips instead of the malt vinegar substitute, but it's a small issue I'm more than willing to look past. For dessert we had the strawberry pouffe which was very good. Puff pastry with strawberries and real whipped cream. Simple but tasty. The star of the dessert show was the Dublin Tart, though. Chocolate, smooth, deliciousness. But try to order it early, one time we went they had sold out of it. It was a travesty. I guess we'll have to go back. Like a traditional British pub, you find your table then order at the bar and they'll bring you the food. If you like live music, they seem to always have it starting at 9:00, I believe. read more

Always a wonderful experiences and fun times, but I am a sneaky **$+**d, I engage employees in conversations and sincerely all his workers love him. Came in search of good fish and chips after our old English haunt was sold. Dunno what happened but the fish and chips suffered and the coleslaw was inedible. Celtic Ray has the VERY BEST fish and chips I've ever tasted. Batter is light on an ample fillet. Heavenly! Chips are good, Irish bread is a treat, too! I can't believe I haven't review this place yet. It's a super good Irish bar with great food too. The bands are always great and trendy for the bar. The service can be slow at times and the reason for 4 stars and not 5. But I come back time after time. It's a must go to in Punta Gorda for sure. I've passed this place so many times over the last 15 years or so but haven't been able to get here because it's not local to me. Finally was able to check it out and it didn't disappoint! The outside atmosphere is awesome, but I'd recommend going on a day that's not so warm outside. People are friendly and food is awesome.
