I have never visited Ireland, but this pub is exactly what I would expect if I did visit Ireland. You order your food at the bar, then find a place to sit. There is plenty of outside seating and also seating upstairs. The food was fantastic. The bar area stretches around so you can get to the bar from any area. (Except maybe upstairs, we didn't go up there) the food came fast and was delicious. From an accessibility standpoint, they have a private parking lot so parking is easy. The space kind of meanders so it is a bit of a walk. But the seating was easy to navigate and their bathroom was large with plenty of maneuverability. There were also hand rails to help as well. We were a party of two on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of my friend, Colleen S, and this is one of her favorite places. I found it to be very well worth the drive from Cape Coral. The parking lot is adjacent to the back, where they have a large outdoor seating area with some areas having an overhead roof providing shade and weather protection and other parts open to the Florida sunshine. The outdoor area has its own dedicated bar and bar staff, and there are multiple types of seating, including some large, lengthy tables that would make this a great place for groups. How can I say this best? This is one of those places you walk into and it already feels like a comfortable favorite. Sounds corny but that's how Celtic Ray hit me. I'm not all that familiar with Irish fare but was excited to try it out. At Celtic Ray, you order at the bar, take your drinks back to the table and then they bring you your food from the kitchen. The Cheese and Fruit Plate we ordered to start was beautifully put together and we nibbled on that with our drinks. Colleen ordered the Bangers and I settled on the Breton Chicken Pasty. Colleen said the Bangers were cooked perfectly. The Breton Chicken Pasty was everything I'd hoped with buttery flaky puff pastry and generous amounts of delicious chicken covered in savory sauce. Our meals were served with colcannon, coleslaw and Irish soda bread. One of my criteria for a 5 star review is that I'm so happy with my experience I'm already talking or thinking about my next visit. Celtic Ray Public House earned 5 stars easily. Colleen talked about how she always brings her family there. I was talking about bringing people there and I've done considerable thinking about it since. Being the first visit (for me), I know there's more great experiences to enjoy, including the cozy inside we walked through to look around and the rooftop area pointed out to me after I incorrectly told Yelp they didn't have one. The one star is due to that fact that they charge the full amount plus tip but also puts a hold on your card for the same amount of your food and drink so essentially you get doubled charged. I was in Florida visiting friends and we decided to stop in at Celtic Ray. Immediately when you walk in the door, you can tell this is an authentic Irish pub. The food list and the drink list very authentic. My smithwicks red ale and my black and tan were very, very cold and very tasty. Manyi nights they have live music, but tonight they did not. There is actually a benefit to them not having live music on the night. We went. A lot of folks that were patronizing the pub were wearing t-shirts of the bar. The bartender told me that if you wear your t-shirt into the bar on Monday nights, you get a dollar or $2 off of everything you order. That is a great deal and a great way to get a Monday crowd in. Came here with a group and it was a fantastic experience! Coming to the Celtic Ray is always a good time with good food and service. I got the potato soup which was fantastic, very hearty and filling and a thick piece of buttered bread which went along with the soup very well. I got the smoked salmon and it was another very filling meal. The salmon was smoked just the right amount and the additional sides were a nice touch. Would highly recommend if in the area! read more

My husband and I shared the Fish & Chips (Icelandic Cod) Fresh Cut & Battered in house as its ordered along with the Strawberry Pouffe The fish was BIG, fresh, flakey and the batter was amazingly airy and crisp! They did not provide lemons for the fish. I really think the "chips" are just for looks, they have little to no flavor or salt. The coleslaw was good, just wish it was colder. The Strawberry Pouffe was okay, wish it was a little sweeter but if your not a big sweet person, it maybe right up your alley! Not bad but not great either. Love the Pub! The beer is cold and the food is good. Can't go wrong with this place. Super friendly staff! They have a lot for parking and there's plenty more on the street. Place gets pretty busy on Fridays and Saturdays, our choice days for visits. There's always been live music on those days. Large patio area underneath the stars and roof sitting area. Depending on the unpredictable SWF weather we dine outside or inside if it's chilly or windy as it was tonight. They have a decent size bar downstairs by the patio area that is SRO. There's a large indoor dinning room downstairs and a smaller one upstairs that has a bar as well. We sat at the bar upstairs, there's booth's as well. Great place to make new friends as well! As for the food, my better half ordered a Pastie, a Breton Chicken that's baked in puff pastry. I ordered the Guinness Stew. Both meals were delicious and hit the spot. I used to enjoy going to the Celtic Ray, but it has really gone downhill and just keeps getting worse. The food portions have gotten ridiculously small, and it honestly tastes like it was previously frozen, defrosted, and then reheated before being served. Definitely not worth the prices they charge. This food is "NOT" fresh and nowhere near as good as it used to be. The atmosphere here has also changed for the worse. The staff isn't outright rude, but they're not friendly either--just indifferent, with no real personality or effort to make customers feel welcome. I have been to Ireland 12 times. This is an authentic Irish Pub and the best Guinness in Florida and maybe the USA. Kevin and Max, the owners are constantly upgrading the Pub.
