Came here while visiting with my boyfriend, who is a Joliet native. Every time he comes home to visit, Cemeno's is one of the few MUST visit places for him. I can definitely see why! This was my second visit, after stopping through my last time in September of last year. It was just as wonderful as I remember. We were seated, with no wait. The four of us got a large anti pasta salad, that we were unable to finish (it was delicious, but the salad was HUGE). And we settled on a fiesta sized thin crust pizza with mushrooms and green olives, extra sauce. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the pizza is here. And to top it off, our server...I believe her name was Breezy, informed us it was only her second week there. However, she was super informative, friendly and attentive. Breezy, you rocked! It was fun to sit with three Joliet natives eating pizza from their favorite joint and recounting stories of their youth. Many of which happened right here at Cemeno's. If I had to have one complaint, it's this: during our visit last year, we had a Bloody Mary SO delicious, that we could not wait to have one again last night. I don't know if they changed the mix they used to use, or if it was just a little more watered down, it just wasn't the same. Not a bad Bloody Mary by any means, just not what we remembered. Had my kids 8th grade graduation there and they did a great job. Food was great, staff amazing, and price reasonable. They even made the cake and it was really good. It was nice to be able to enjoy the party and not have to run around cooking at home. Would definitely have another party there. read more

Not worth your money. Not sure what happened to this place. Just ordered 3 items and was charged $47.10. An order of breaded mushrooms, 1 hot Italian 6 inch sub, which was horrible and a 6 piece of party wings.....$47.10. We were told the price would be $35 or something near that (I forget the exact $). Still high if you ask me. I was hoping the food would be good. We were extremely dissatisfied. Called the manager to see why the charge of $47.10. He suggests that I call my bank to see why "the bank" charged me an extra $10.10 as if I am stupid. I know what the mistake was! The mistake was me ordering from Cemenos. Plain and simple. Have been to Cemeno's for years! Always good pizza. We went last night and it was pretty busy, but worth the wait. From the time we sat down, our server Elise was friendly and attentive. She provided us with GREAT service. Even as busy as they were, everything was served quickly from the food to the drinks. Also have to mention, that the pizza we got last night was perfection! This review is written to help others decide whether or not they want to have a dining experience that totally ignores the CDC guidelines and COVID common sense. It was an inside dining experiences and we felt fine going there since we were fully vaccinated and truly expected that Cemeno's would be following the CDC guidelines like every other restaurant we have been to: social distancing and mask enforcement upon entry and to and from bathrooms and upon leaving. as we usually love the pizza, we were really looking forward to the late afternoon dinner with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. When we arrived there was hardly anyone there (4 pm) and we ordered our drinks, salad and pizza and just as the pizza was about to be served, the booth behind us was filled with people and so was the booth in front of us. Also, people coming in and going to bathrooms were not all wearing masks. We picked up our food and moved to a booth away from the crowd, figuring we were safe. However, the restaurant continued to fill up with no regard for socially distancing or mask enforcement (I should note that the wait staff did wear masks). Furthermore, upon approaching the manager I was told that if I didn't like it, we could do carry outs, and rudly continued to say that all the restaurants are doing it like this (which has not been our experience at all) The owner offered to move us to somewhere else in the restaurant, and said we were supposed to be asked first if seating someone near us was ok, which we were not, as we would have said no. But I noticed that no one was being asked, as more people came. And the manager never apologized for his rude responses to me. I asked the owner to make sure that where we moved to was kept socially distanced, and he did. But no where else in the entire establishment was this practice respected. Nor was the mask requirement to and from tables by patrons enforced. No wonder Will County has skyrocketing COVID numbers. This is a real shame. And a disgrace to the Cemeno family. We will no longer go to this establishment. Society's health should be foremost in every restaurant's rules. But then, Cemeno's obviously doesn't follow the CDC rules. read more

Great Pizza good Italian food salads. Service. At the tables are good however the reservations always seem to get screwed up . It also seems that one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing in that place lately. It's a shame because I know Joe Cimino most of my life. And I think that he would be embarrassed way things have been running lately. Somebody needs to step in and help the business run better. Ambience needs to be updated place looks. Needs to be refreshed to keep up with the times. I do love the place and dirty shame to see it go downhill. read more

Service was awful. Was told 45 min wait for pizza and took 1hr 25min, yes I timed it. Waitress never checked up on us and took 20 mins to bring our drink. Then when the food came order was wrong. Felt like we were treated very poorly for being African American, would not recommend this place to anyone, unless your white then enjoy yourself a good time because they will pay very close attention to you. NO COLORED ALLOWED. If this wasn't the intention, it was definitely the message. We waited 27 mins for our drinks. We Never saw the waitress in-between. In fact another waitress brought the drinks and said sorry but I saw them just sitting there and thought I'd bring them. Then we waited 1hr and 53 min for our pepperoni pizza. Did you hear what I said pepper Roni pizza. One child ordered buffalo wings another ordered a sandwich and another ordered pasta and requested that they all come out as appetizers because we ordered the pizza. When we inquired about our food after an hour and twenty minutes the waiter said "Aw I just put it all in together" as if that was ok because it wasn't. So after waiting 40 days and 40 nights (1 1/2 hour) my daughter buffalo wings came out. she ate a lone. Aw no sauce. Then when the pizza came out with the pasta and the sandwich it was the wrong pasta and the wrong sandwich so both orders had to go back. We waited an additional 23 minutes for that to come back so even though we went out to dinner as a family we packed up our takeout and took it home as a leftover because we no longer had an appetite. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED FOR SHITY SERVICE. A tip of $2.13 was left only because I didn't have the exact change to pay the bill. NEVER WILL WE EVER RETURN! Since im being forced to select a star for the business I guess you will receive a one star because clearly I'm trying to submit this without giving you a star at all. You are a moon in my eye. My family and I have been going to Cemeno's pizza for as long as I can remember. We have booked countless baby showers, wedding showers and birthday parties here. We love the sports bar atmosphere. This past weekend, I was scheduled to have a Birthday Party for my son. We planned it, picked the date, confirmed it 2 weeks ago over the phone and even discussed the cake. When we showed up on Saturday for our 6 PM reservation, they didn't have it. They said that our reservation was not there, and we should've come at 3. The "manager" at the time was one of the most non accommodating rude girls, I have come across. Such a huge disappointment when I had 20 people standing in a doorway with nowhere to go. As much as it pains me, we will not be hosting any more family parties there. I was not only embarrassed, but I was also frantically trying to figure out where I was going to get 20 people for a birthday. I recommend you check and check again prior to arrival for any party here. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Their food is always fresh and you get very decent portions. We often go eat as a family and there is always something new for us to try. Pizza is not the only thing they offer. There are so many other things to try out. Some favorites aside frome their marvelous pizza is the baked mostacciolli and the fried pickles are a must try! They are to die for! I have catered from here for parties aswell and it is a big hit every time. My favorite is the half pan of the alfredo pasta with spinach and mushrooms. I like that it is family oriented. The staff is very friendly every time we visit. They do have a section that has a full bar so its even a great palce to go watch a game and have a sandwich and a beer with friends. read more

I have a gluten allergy and their gluten free pizza is one of the best gf pizzas I have found. The crust is crispy and perfect. It doesn't taste like cardboard like so many other gf pizza crusts do. It is really hard to find a good gf pizza and I had almost given up. You can have it with any toppings you like. We use to eat here all the time. We decided it was time to go back, because at one time they had really good pizza. The food was terrible, the service was slow. You can tell, due to the slow economy, they are using cheaper stuff and trying to pass it off as their usual pizza. Not worth the money these days. This is a review regarding the carry out. We just ordered a thin crust sausage pizza, mozzarella sticks, and garlic cheese bread and all three things were terrible. The pizza was not crispy, and had hardly any sauce on it. The mozzarella sticks and cheese bread were cold and had to be reheated. We left earlier than they said to go pick it up too, so it wasn't like it was sitting very long at the restaurant. I've eaten inside Cemenos before and the food was great, but this experience with the carry out was very disappointing. Didn't even want to do one star after tonight's delivery! They must have dropped all 3 pizzas and they covered maybe half the pizza box after that! To top it off they weren't even cooked all the way! Then the manager was a dick on the phone after I waited ten minutes to talk to him! He had someone else asking me questions cause apparently he was too afraid to come to the phone! I wanted our money back but they wouldn't since all the kids at the party started eating the pizzas and I wasn't able to give them the pizzas back! Now they are sending 3 more pizzas......like we're going to eat them after complaining to them! God only knows what their doing to the pizzas now! So. I've almost always ordered from cemenos. Only time I don't is when we're strapped for cash because they can be expensive and we will order from Michaels. Ordered delivery tonight. Medium thin crust and appetizer combo. Was here within the hour. I've never complained about cemenos but after tonight, I will NEVER go back. The pizza was under done, absolutely no color on the cheese. The combo app platter was ALL soggy and mushy. Nothing seemed to be fried. If I didn't know better I would say they were microwaved. No crispyness to the onion rings, zucchini, mushrooms and the mozzarella sticks were cold and cheese unmelted. So gross. I am so disappointed and the service we received was WAY under par. So disappointed because I truly loved cemenos. Not anymore. Will stick with Michaels. They are always consistent, friendly and have good crust and sauce. read more

I have ordered from Cemeno's Pizza time and time again and can honestly say more often than not they have gotten something wrong with my order. This time I ordered naked wings for the first time instead of breaded. They were tossed in hot sauce. I did not want hot sauce as a side or any other way. I asked for the sauce I wanted on the side. They sent that with my order. When I called to complain they told me naked meant hot sauce. I told them that hot sauce is listed as a dipping sauce on their website and sauces are described as "on the side" in a secondary online menu. I was told they would credit my order OR I could come in and pick up a new order. Oh, and, I was told they are aware of the issue online and that they are going to fix the descriptions but never would they agree to make it right and send a new order. DONE! SO DONE! I've gone to Cemeno's Pizza since I can remember - I am 24 years old. I decided to throw my mom her 50th *SURPRISE* Birthday Party there because I knew my family would enjoy the atmosphere. I planned the party in mid-May. I sent out invitations for the SURPRISE party in July. The secret was safe until the day of the party - September 7th, 2013. My mom called to make a FAKE "reservation" because she thought that is where we were going to have dinner that night. When she called, she said our last name and the woman taking reservations (who is also the woman I had been speaking to about the party the entire time) asked her, "Oh - for the SURPRISE 50th BIRTHDAY PARTY? You'd like to add one more to the party of 50?" My mom frantically said, "I think you let the cat out of the bag - I have to go" and hung up. On day day of the party, the wait staff was amazing and the food was great. Everyone had a fabulous time and even though the surprise was ruined - my mom still appreciated the gesture and enjoyed herself. When I found out that Patti had spilled the beans, I at least would have expected an apology or something when I got there to set up. She was no where to be found. The manager and our waitress for the night were very apologetic and said they would have Patti call me the following Monday. She called. She apologized for ruining the surprise, but there was no sincerity in her apology. She acted as if my Mom had ruined the surprise for herself and she did not know what else I wanted from them. I wasn't asking for money back, but I was at least asking for a sincere apology. Cemeno's has been a great place for our family to get together and have parties - but I will never be going back there to celebrate another special occasion again; only out of fear that it may be ruined. read more

I will admit, the pizza was good, but it was a busier day and it took a whole hour and a half for all the food to come to our table, and the check took about 30 minutes because of how the waitress recommended to split it between our group. My first impression: I'd go here with a party of 8+ for pizza and beer, but not for a date. We ordered a pie and one pasta entree. The pie was great, and the baked manicotti florentine - not so much. The ratio of spinach/ricotta filling to red sauce was completely off. My entree was swimming in bleh tasting sauce. I guess I should have paid $1 extra for the "special" marinara garlic sauce. Great pizza. We ordered a large BBQ chicken and a personal size gluten free. Both excellent. We ordered the larger Antipasto salad, which was also really good. Three of us could hardly finish it as an appetizer. The cocktail (gin and tonic should be a no brainier for a decent bartender), awful. Couldn't taste the gin. Funky tasting. Old lime... Just yuck. Cemenos is a childhood favorite of mine! My parents live within walking distance and it was always a treat! I went home for a week and my dad took our family to cemenos after our grandmothers wake. Being in Arizona, I have yet to find a good italian beef, and I was craving one! (I of course had some pizza too ;D) Cemenos never disappoints. read more
