My grandfather past away last week and my family needed top scramble together to figure out where we can have food catered from in between funeral sessions. Center cuts made the whole thing seem effortless. By the time we got to our home, Center Cuts had all of the food set up in stenos and ready to plate. There was bread, salads, appetizers and 4 different entrees with tons of sides. Plates, silverware and beverages were all brought in by them as well. Thank God, we have a neighborhood butcher who really cares about their customers!! My grandfather loved Center Cuts I'm sure he would have been very happy with their work. Great food and fast food. I had an experience where i was waiting for a sandwich for a lil over 9 minutes. When the sandwich was finally done one of the cooks came out with my order and said "i apologize for having you wait so long and gave me a complimentary bag of crispy fries. Which were sooo delicious and well seasoned. Now thats what i call great customer service. Everything they make here is well seasoned and simple. I usually get my orders within 6-7 minutes from the time i place my order. Their home made chips are DELICIOUS! A lil salt/pepper is all they add, sooo good. Check this place out people!!. read more

Amazing sandwiches. We had the Tuscan hero. Should have taken a photo but we inhaled it. We could tell the guys took their time and care in making our sandwich, which was appreciated. The bread was lightly toasted, which was an awesome touch- the slight taste of charred bread and texture of the lightest crunch really added to the sandwich, which had great quality prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers. "I heard good things about Center Cuts Butcher Shop and, because it's on Willis Ave., literally less than two minutes south of the Willis Ave exit from both the LIE and the Northern State, I stopped off there on my way to the Hamptons to pick up meat for the weekend. The butcher shop is adorable and the service, selection and quality was superb! Not only was I able to get all the meat I needed for the weekend, they also sell hot dog and hamburger rolls, bread and prepared side dishes (the roasted corn was amazing), they told me if I call in advance, they will stay open very late on Thursdays and Fridays so I can pick up my butcher order on the drive out. I always say I will write a yelp review for places I enjoy but I never get to em. But this place needs one. The food is absolutely delicious made with clearly high quality ingredients. I absolutely love their recipes and their customer service is without a doubt second to none. The inside atmosphere is very nicely designed and organized with a plethora of well-picked snacks. I went to center cuts on The Saturday before Memorial Day. When I arrived there was a decent line that moved pretty quickly. Their customer service was very knowledgable and helpful in assisting me with which cuts to go with. I went with the steak end both the bourbon and home style marinate and both were really delicious. I also highly recommend trying the Greek chicken and bacon cheddar burgers. Both of these choices were huge hits at my barbecue. Customer service like what you get at Center Cuts just doesn't exist anymore. Doug and Justin, the two young owners, take very special care of their customers. I had ordered a turkey to be picked up the day before Xmas. Unfortunately I got sick, so gave them a call at 8:00 am that morning. Although preparing for a very busy day, and short handed, Justin jumped in his truck and delivered the turkey to my door within 10 minutes. They are just terrific! Their products too. Their meat is fresh, high quality and well-priced. Their prepared food fresh and delicious. Their chef couldn't be nicer or more interested in the customer's ideas and preferences. They truly aim to please. I give this butcher shop the highest recommendation and am thrilled to have them in the neighborhood. Update: December 2017. The shop is extremely clean and staff is friendly. Unfortunately the clerk ripped me off. I spent $19.99 per pound of rib eye steak. I asked him if the cut is USDA PRIME and he said yes of course. In reality the steak is CHOICE meat charged at a rip off price. The steak still tasted good but it's not right to lie to your customers. I confirmed the steak with many other steak connoisseurs and they all claim it is indeed CHOICE. read more

went in to try the new store. they advertise gourmet sandwiches. the staff was very nice and friendly. ordered a custom sandwich. Prep took an extra long time, for a sandwich that required 0 cooking. When i finally opened the sandwich, it had the wrong ingredients and wasnt prepared as asked (and written down). quite disappointed in the execution and finished product. the meats and prepared foods liked excellent. sandwiches, not so much. read more

I've decided to try this place out and purchased a wide variety of foods starting with the 85% Lean Brisket and Short Rib Burger Deluxe medium rare with cheddar and bacon, and coleslaw on the side. First, the burger wasn't even cooked properly to a medium rare, it was nearly well-done. But, this is a butcher shop, I don't expect a chef to be cooking my food, fine. However, the burger itself wasn't seasoned at all, so the only thing I tasted was the burnt, soggy bread which was completely black! Seriously? How do you screw up a burger like this? A $12 burger? I was expecting to take a bite and experience the amazing flavors of seasoned brisket, bacon, and cheddar, and I was surprised when I got a mouthful of black, burnt disgustingness. Another thing that stood out to me was that the burger was no bigger than the size of my palm and after two bites I threw away the other half of the burger in the trash-- calling it a slider would be more appropriate. I then took a bite out of the coleslaw, and it somehow tasted plastic-like. It was bitter, sour, and plastic-tasting. I've truly never had coleslaw taste like this.. taste so horrible. Again, not sure how you can completely mess up a simple side dish-- coleslaw. Next, I had the Philly Hero with the potato chips. I also ordered a side of Crispy Onion Rings to go along this sandwich. The presentation was horrible and the paper wrap around the sandwich was completely drenched in oil. The paper covering the sandwich was transparent from being soaked in oil, they could have at least drained away some of it away. Anyways, one thing I really hate on any sandwich or burger is soggy bread. I don't expect the bread to be completely dry and toasted on a philly steak style sandwich, but the amount of oil dripping down my sandwich was just horrendous and unacceptable. Again, the steak was not seasoned at all, so it tasted exactly how you would expect-- a bland, soggy philly cheesesteak. The potato chips were actually stale, I'm not sure how they managed that. I don't even want to talk about the onion rings.. it could be called an onion soup or stew from the amount of oil that was on it. At least it wasn't burnt. Finally, I had the Steak and Cheese Hero (medium rare) with a side order of their Truffle Fries with Shaved Parmesan. I was looking forward to this one the most, and I was disappointed yet again. If you screw up the meat in this sandwich, then the entire sandwich itself is compromised. Unfortunately, the steak was no where near "medium rare". They decided to cook it in a new fashion, which is slightly past well-done, known as "f%$&*^* burnt". You're supposed to cook the steak to a medium rare first, then cut it into slices after cooling down. Instead, Center Cuts, cut their meat prior to cooking, which makes it near impossible to properly cook to a medium rare temperature. By this point, I was nearly in tears from having spent $50 on this terrible meal which I was really looking forward to. Now, the fries were actually cooked very well, and seasoned nicely, however the parmesan cheese completely ruined the dish. I now realize why you're not supposed to put parmesan on fries: because it's a terrible combination. The tiny pieces of shaved parmesan actually made the dish appear as if there was mold growing on my fries. The whole thing was unappetizing, really. And, there wasn't a single piece of truffle on my fries. It didn't even have the slightest taste or hint of truffle-- very misleading. In all seriousness, I am no diva when it comes to food, even though it may sound like it. This food was truly horrible and unacceptable. When it comes to food, I eat basically anything and everything, and it kills me inside when I waste food and have to throw it away. I'm a firm believer that there is simply no such thing known as "leftovers". However, in this case, it's a shame I had to throw away so much food that had potential to be, you know, quite good. And I was very disappointed to have spent $50 on a meal and still be hungry afterwards, which is a sure sign of a 1 star rating. Although, it was partially my fault to trust a butcher shop to know how to cook burgers and steak properly. Maybe they were simply having an off-day, or their chef called out sick, but I will never know because I will never eat here again. Center Cuts, you should probably stick to butchering meat, because you sure as hell don't have a clue on how to cook. read more

This is the real deal - an old time butcher shop with a great selection of meats and prepared side dishes. For yesterday's barbeque, Center Cuts supplied their signature marinated steak tips, marinated chicken breasts, brisket-sirloin hamburgers, buffalo chicken burgers, 2 aged prime sirloins and sides of roasted corn, baked beans and potato salad. The quality of the food was as good as any I have ever had. My guests, my wife, my kids and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED everything!
