I eat here every day and here are my expert ratings: sushi-meh grill- meh kosher- amazing!! persian- decent italian-meh mexican-pretty good but too much meat in my bowls dessert-great! black coats- good breakfast (not french toast sticks) omelet- great! when it's open asian- really bad i'm sorry Personally, I think the only station with a good amount of flavor is the kosher station and I go every time it's open. The food isn't horrible; however, I would love for them to offer different options and open more of the stations consistently. It would also be lovely if ketchup were in more then one place! FYI if you have the 15 meals a week plan you can't swipe in family members using your swipes. read more

For a school dining hall, the center for community eatery is quite impressive. The food is plentiful and good, and the atmosphere caters to a variety of needs. Having worked as a butcher for the dining hall for a few years, i can testify to the quality of the ingredients and the upkeep of the kitchen. There are strict policies enforcing and maintaining thorough hygienic upkeep each morning and night. The food is always fresh, at least enough to the point where I would have no concerns. There have been rumors over the quality of meat, or the lack there of, and concerns over the ingredients used in the recipes,which I'de like to put to rest. The kitchen is run by professional chefs with a vast spectrum of experience, who really do put the time and work in to make quality and dynamic meals. It's all really good food. There are various food stations offering food to reach all areas of your pallet: Persian, Asian, Kosher (although rarely open, at least when I go), the Sushi Station, the American Grill station, Mexican, Italian, multiple salad bars, and dessert station. Forewarning, it's far too easy to grab way more food than you can handle. The Persian and Kosher stations are my favorites, each one always offering a tasty protein; from chicken wings to meatballs, I've yet to be let down. The soups at the Kosher station are delicious. The accouterments offered at Persia offer the capacity to create the ultimate gyro: tzatziki, pickled vegetables, walnuts, pita bread, Mediterranean salad, and feta. If you want to eat healthy, the options are definitely there. The salad bar has everything you need to get thoroughly jacked. Unlimited vegetables, fruits, and proteins. Can't forget the dessert station. A wide array of cookies, cakes, pies and ice creams are offered, which can be dangerous for those lacking self control, everything inside is offered on an all you can eat basis. Truly a great place to spend your entire day. In regards to the atmosphere, there are a number of rooms/areas to dine in, filled with tables and booths, some are more conducive to a more quite study/work environment while others are loud and flowing with students. There are a few Tvs throughout the dining hall, usually broadcasting various sports channels. My favorite spots are the booths toward the end of the dining hall (opposite the entrance). They offer the option to adjust their lighting with a variety of options, outlets for charging your laptop, and comfortable seating to post up all day as you eat food and get work done. Tread with caution, it's far to easy spend 6 hours eating macaroons in this establishment. Considering that this is college cafeteria food, the buffets here are outstanding. There is a large salad bar, a grill station, and world stations - Italian, Mexican, Persian, Asian. They also pay attention to allergens and serve kosher food. My favorite is their attention to little things like having all kinds of hot sauces available, and the little preserved tomatoes at the Italian station. C4C is depression personified. There is only 3 options of food and it's the same stuff every week. I was excited for Asia station until i found out they served the same stuff every single time and gives you rations for your portion. Great place for daily meals if you work/study in CU Boulder. It's a buffet style with multiple stations such as Persian, Asian, American, Kosher, Italian, Mexican, Sushi bar, Salad bar, Deli bar and a dessert bar. You will find something you will like given the huge variety. The cost is under $8 which makes it a great bargain. For example you can get a bowl in the Mexican station which is very similar to Chipotle style. My favorite day is Thursday cause the Persian place serves lamb Kabab. Overall this place gets a full score because it provides huge variety of food for very reasonable price plus if you know what you are getting the food is decent. read more

The food is super average, so not horrible, but after months of having this as one of the only close and accessible options for dinner on campus(using meal swipes) it gets super old super quickly, and being a broke college student I can't afford to go out to eat that much, so by the second semester when you walk into the building super hungry, by the time you get in your appetite disappears. I also dislike the fact that there's very little good vegan/vegetarian options for my vegetarian friends, who end up just having fries and mac n cheese or salad every time they go there. The other stations other than the Grille, Italian, and Mexican, are so inconsistent and unreliable in terms of quality of food, which basically cuts the available good options in half. Their schedule for certain things that are served or different stations that are open are also super inconsistent and most of the time things that should be open (the sauté station, soup station, and the likes) are not. They also have definitely downgraded in terms of overall food quality, because the sauté station has been a lot worse starting this semester. read more

Very good food for a college cafe. High quality, locally sourced and many unique options. I really enjoy coming here because it's very easy to get in and get out, as oppose to some other college dining centers that are as big as University of Colorado. The waits are not long, but sometimes when its the lunch or dinner rush it can be a pain to get around. There is plenty of seating in and out doors, with the incredible views of the mountains. Many food stations to make self serve a breeze, and many options at these stations that serve locally sourced ingredients and that are fairly healthy. The staff is great, and helpful. The cafeteria is very strict when it comes to employee cleanness and fresh food. Every night, a huge amount food is dumped so that the next day fresh food is used, however it's mass produced and is always pre-frozen. The cafeteria distinguishes food allergens, and is very useful for students with allergy. The food, however, lacks flavor, like a watered down beer, and is very repetitive for the students eating in the cafeteria everyday. Overall, it's a good cafeteria with a variety of food, but the same variety everyday. read more

I am a student at Boulder and I am very disappointed in the C4C. They don't have as wide of a variety of options as you think, and the lines are always long. This is because they shut every other thing down and think that we all eat at 6 o'clock. They frequently run out of food especially if you come after 7 pm. The food is also very mediocre and it's a struggle to eat it. I hope in the future that the food gets better because it's been a week and I already hate it! I also think that campus wide the dining areas need longer hours. I pay over $50,000 a year I deserve to be fed properly! read more

expect a severe case of the sh*ts. mass cooked food made without love or care. some staples of my diet this semester from C4C have included: pizza (pretty good), mac n cheese (bland), the asian section (sometimes the meat is sketchy, and the rice is never good), burritos (will give you the sh*ts without fail, but tasty), and cereal (all off brands). Don't expect the fruit to be fresh, and don't expect a wide variety of vegetables either. read more

Very little passion and creativity put into the entrees. Most of the food seems half assed and the atmospheres and ambiance was lacking in professionalism and romance. The upkeep was poor as well. Overall I will not be returning to the center for community dining establishment. read more
