This restaurant is part of Le Meridien Hotel in Las Ramblas. We were there as a group of 30 for a Barcelona tour farewell. We had two food choices, beef or fish. There was red and white wine served too. I chose the baby carrots, cod, and mango mousse. The baby carrots were just the right tenderness on top of tahini with beet root powder. The cod was tender and delicious, albeit salty. And that's why I took a star off. The mango mousse was decadent and the best I've ever had. It had some sort of fruit filling inside. Cool lounge music was playing in the restaurant. It was a Saturday night. As people came in, they were turned away. All the tables had been reserved that evening. read more

This is the restaurant in the Le Méridien hotel in Barcelona. We ate breakfast here each morning of our stay and though the place gets very busy and crowded, the service was always excellent! The food was pretty nice and they had plenty of options; such as, croquettes, omelet station, scrambled eggs, full charcuterie, breads, juices, breakfast meats, etc. The dining room if beautiful and though it gets packed, you can relax and dine comfortably at your table. The best seats are those in the window on the Ramblas, where you can watch all the traffic and pedestrians. read more

Updated to add: the food was mediocre at best. We ordered almost everything on the menu and nothing was beyond decent. We arrived here super excited to dine and drink, expecting our tab to be €200+. We were seated in the far back corner of the restaurant, its only location that is dark and obscured from any natural light or views of the surrounding street. We very politely asked if it was possible that we move to a table with some natural light and a view of the street. There were plenty of available tables to accommodate us. Unfortunately, the waitress asked the manager and then reported he said no. I was especially disappointed to see afterwards a family of 5 with young kids seated in the exact spot we'd asked for 5 minutes earlier. During our stay at Le Meredian (Wednesday August 3 to Sunday August 7), my wife and I enjoyed their breakfast buffets for 17 euros each. This particular breakfast buffet definitely felt like one you'd encounter in a U.S. hotel, with scrambled eggs and bacon. It also had local dishes like croquettes and various cold meats. The staff members were very friendly and spoke some English. The best part was the unlimited coffee, that included lattes. The young lady who makes the coffee drinks (and works at the coffee stand in the lobby) is especially friendly! On our first evening in Barcelona, we also had dinner here. My wife ordered the tenderloin and I got the burger with fries. Although I enjoyed my burger, I wish I had also ordered the tenderloin. We both agreed it was the best steak we've had during our entire trip in Spain. She also ordered the vegetables, based on the server's recommendation, which were delicious. For dessert, we ordered the ice cream dishes. For 8 euros each, they were small for the price, especially my wife's fruit one. BAIT AND SWITCH. (Told to get the special menu, then recommended an appetizer without being told it was OFF the special menu. Got bill 2Xs the price of the special!) I visited the restaurant because it also carried the Le Meridien Hotel brand name. I was told by the hostess I should try the 25 euro special, as it came with a nice wine, appetizer and dessert. She sang its praises. I agreed. When asked what I would want for my appetizer, I was told I should have the octopus. I was NOT told that it was not part of the 25 euro special. I was disappointed to receive a bill that was itemized at nearly TWICE the price of the special menu I was shown. I was told this happened because I ordered the octopus appetizer making everything else a PER ITEM ORDER... And, on another point, when I asked for tap water instead of bottled (trying to be green) I was told they would have to get an OK from the manager - and that the Barcelona tap water (which I had been drinking all week) is too bad to drink. Great place for dinner with nice view on crowded La Rambla. The food is delicious. Russian salad has homemade mayo that makes the difference! Absolutely yummy. The tapas were seasoned so perfectly and I thought the presentation was very nice too. The restaurant had a nice jazzy feel to it, with soft music playing in the background. My friend and I got the house wine that is offered and I thought it was fantastic. The white house wine was light and fresh, and went down smoothly. It complimented the food perfectly. I got the chicken over basmati rice, and my friend got the salmon, and we shared the patatas bravas. The food was reasonably priced so I was very pleased, because walking in I thought it would be expensive since the restaurant is on the fancier end and the service was so good. Overall, I recommend this place and I can't wait to go again with another friend who is visiting soon! read more

Delicious and great ambiance! Not a terrible spot for toddlers although the kids menu was pretty decent. I had the hummus with pita and feta salad to start-- husband had the jamon croquette. Hummus was delicious as was the feta salad-- hubby wasn't impressed by the croquette. For entree, I had the vegetarian paella and hubby had seafood paella. Paella was pretty good and best part was that unlike other restaurants that require you to order 2 portions, here each order is per person but big enough to share! Every time I visit Barcelona I come to this restaurant. Not only do I feel a little bit posh eating here, but the food, the atmosphere and the service is excellent. This is also one of the few places I have found that clearly marks what is gluten, wheat, dairy free on their menu in Barcelona. Unfortunately my onion allergy left me with few choices so I ended up eating a lot of gluten free bread - which was actually a treat in itself at a restaurant! and the potatas bravas dish, which as a tapas was very small, only 8 small potato pieces topped with the bravas sauce. They were delicious although maybe a little oily but there just wasn't enough! But that's okay, it was delicious none the less. I will certainly return next time I'm in Barcelona! read more

We have eaten breakfast here Every morning for the four days we've been in Barcelona - the breakfast buffet (which was part of our Costco travel package). The servers are great, they tried to seat us somewhere different everytime we went since they realized we that we liked to people watch. They had a great selection of breakfast items, juices, cereals, breads, cheeses and mimosa. I am so glad we added that on to our package. read more
