Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta
Francis V.

I ordered the jerk chicken Rasta pasta. It comes with 5 drumettes. The chicken flavor was ok and the pasta was good but needed more sauce and vegetables (onion/bell pepper). My husband ordered the oxtail mac. The oxtails were a little tough for my liking. I don't know how the service and ambiance was because my husband picked up the food. I can say that the food was still really hot when he made it home.

I had this place last week. I was stunned by the delicious flavors. I had the lamb chops, mash potatoes, and mac n cheese. Everything was so well seasoned and packed with all kinds of love. I recommend everyone try this place. Lots of great food, and really cool vibes.

First time trying Jerk Chicken LA and I'm honestly confused.... Ima just say yall own me another plate 5.8/10

I saw the plates online and they looked nicely plated, sauced up, everything looking professional. That's literally what made me pull up and spend my money. But the plate I actually got? Man... this was not it. Presentation alone was rough. It didn't even look appetizing when I opened it. And when food doesn't look good to the eye, nine times out of ten it's not hitting the tongue either. Taste-wise I'm giving it a 5.8/10 at best. The cabbage was the only thing that was decent. For my first experience, this was disappointing because the food online looked way better than what was served. So look... Jerk Chicken LA, I'm keeping it real: Y'all owe me another plate. Let me run it back so I can see what the hype is actually about and give a fair review Because right now the marketing and the reality are two completely different plates

Cabbage

Pasta was creamy, spicy and perfectly cooked. The jerk drummettes were a tad bit tough. The cabbage was soggy and salty. I ordered Grub Hub delivery. The food was delivered by a guy on a bicycle. That my have affected the quantity. I wish I had experienced this food in the restaurant, so I could feel the vibe of the place and get entree suggestions.

The food and service was amazing. Customer service was great good vibes and I really enjoyed myself if you're looking for a jerk food come here.

Lamb Chops Dinner

Food is some of the best. Service is top tier. If you were sitting on the fence, this is your sign to come.

An absolutely fantastic experience and meal. Nothing outrageous on the menu, just rustic food done…read morereally, really well. The cornbread is a must, and I really liked the freshness of the tomato and peach side dishes. I'm not sure I can order a pork chop at any other place after having theirs--it was so juicy and grilled perfectly. I didn't know pork chops could be so good! Booked the Chef's Counter, which was an awesome experience; saw the behind the scenes of cooking, preparing, and coordinating all the dishes. Fair warning, we were sat directly in the line of fire of the grill, so it got hot. There are counter seats on the appetizer side, which wouldn't have been as warm. Besides the seating, we were treated so well and warmly by the staff, and felt very taken care of. A great spot for a fancy date night or celebration meal.

I made the reservation…read morethrough Opentable and oh man how hard it is to secure a good dinner time on a weekend night. That's how popular this place is. Parking is street parking around the neighborhood. We came here on Sunday evening so it was somewhat doable. We showed up several minutes earlier and they suggested us to wait in their wine room/bar. I didn't really plan on getting any wine so we waited a little bit outside at the patio and then returned when it was the actual time. I had made a reservation for the counter seating, and we were seated right in front of the fire area where they cook the meat. It was cool to watch them cooking the food and prepare them, but it was soooo hot. I didn't ask to be moved, but I definitely should have. Now for the food, we got the baby albacore (sooo good), pork & green chilly stew (it came with tortillas) and they suggested us to get the cheddar & chive potatoes with the chili and make it into a taco. Really good. The tortillas were amazing too. We were saving our appetite for the other orders so the waiter offered to box the leftovers. It was a very efficient service. The next thing we ordered was the mushroom crusted pork chop. When we were waiting, we saw them prepared a lot of the ribeye orders which looked truly magnificent. Maybe for next visit! But the pork chop was so good too. It definitely felt pretty rich. The waiter had suggested us to order a side salad to complement the richness and they're right, I should have! We ordered the popular cornbread as a dessert (following other reviews online) and it was a great suggestion, since I really want to try it and there was no way we could eat another dessert on top of everything. Cornbread was amazing as expected. Pretty crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The honey and butter complement them really well. It has some jalapeño in it too. Overall it was an amazing dinner experience. Next time I visit I'll be sure not to sit at the counter (lol). But the service was really good and efficient, and everyone was really nice and polite.

MULBERRY - LOTS OF HYPE, LACKING REAL KOREAN FLAVOR AND -  EXPENSIVE…read more I make my own reservations and pay my own bills when I dine out.  PROS: The patio is the place to dine, Service was excellent, two dishes were worth the visit CONS: The food lacks authentic Korean flavor, it's expensive, and there's no regular bar--only fancy organic alcohol with unfamiliar names. PROTIP: Study the menu beforehand, eat on the Patio, order the Wngs and Short Rib and Try Son Nong Dan across the street. SUMMARY: Go to Koreatown and get better food for less I finally visited the much hyped Mulberry the other night, expecting a fantastic experience based on all the hype and social media. What I got was an overpriced meal on Sawtelle that watered down what should have been a showcase for excellent Korean food.  Mulberry is cramped and dark on the inside and excellent on the patio. There are some interesting tables inside near the back, but the Patio is where the action is, especially when the sun is out.It has shades of Hatchet Hall's ambiance and a great vibe. Service comes fast and is very good. They do know what they are doing from a service perspective. Drink orders arrive quickly, and food is served fairly fast. We knew what we wanted before going. Korean Pancake, Wings, Dumplings, Acorn Noodles and Short Ribs.  Korean Pancake - small and just ok flavor. The sauce was good, but for $17, you could get a giant, better tasting pancake almost anywhere else. Fried Chicken Wings - probably one of the two stars of the night--had a fantastic crust and were very plump and juicy. Sauce and pickles were excellent and you get two types of wings with each order, both were excellent.  Acorn Noodles - a very good mix of flavors, good nori, the hard-boiled egg (a surprise) was good--expensive for $22Steamed Dumplings - well made and cooked well, but the lackluster sauce served with them didn't help. A well-crafted dumpling that needs a much more flavorful sauce to accompany it.  Beef Short Ribs - The other star on the menu, along with the wings. Very tender and great taste. Use the salt! We ordered the extras which you don't have to do. Small piece for $49. It's a No Tip restaurant so you get the automatic 20% charge - which I did not mind. Pay the help. Our bill came to $200 for a meal that was probably worth $100.You can go to some of the AYCE Korean BBQ places and get better quality, more food and be happier. The hype for this place will die down. If you like Sawtelle go to Son Nong Dan across the street for an overall better experience and better pricing.
