After moving last year, I live closer to Berlin and I've gradually been trying all the spots. This was my first visit to Central Pizza. I believe it's presently take out only. I ordered a large half pepperoni and green peppers and half cheese by phone. They told me 20-25 minutes on the phone. The Central Pizza crew was nice on the phone and in person and they finished the pizza on time, even though they seemed very busy. I liked some parts of the pizza a lot, and connected less well with some parts. The well melted cheese and fresh green peppers were highlights. The pepperoni was pretty good, but didn't stand out relative to some places. Sauce is a highly personal choice. I prefer a slightly sweeter sauce and this leaned towards tangy. The spice level was nice though. I'm not married to any particular crust style. Central makes a Greek style crust. This was not one of my favorite executions of a Greek crust. The outer rounded crust was very crispy. Almost saltine cracker crispy. The undercarriage was not as crispy, but I like the texture at some other area places better. I'm not sure Central will take the place of any pizzerias in my local takeout rotation. But if I went to someone's house and they served Central, I would not be disappointed. 3.5 Stars read more

Disgusting food. Not to mention it's packed and there is no space to walk and wait for your order. I had went there the other day to get food for my family and waited 45 mins. 45 mins!! Even though I called it in. The kid on the phone seemed annoyed and rushed. The cheese was half cooked and the place looked and smelled kinda dirty. I think the owners let the place go or something. Don't miss out on this great little place in Berlin. We've been going there since I was much younger. Up until COVID you could eat in but now it's take out only. I love their pizza, it's the sauce that makes it! The owner is such a nice man and is always there. As I have stated in past reviews I'm always impressed by owners who are active in their businesses. Ok, so, Pizza is either really good, or, really bad; and, there's no in between. Right? Well, no. Central Pizza has convinced me, otherwise. For the past two weekends I've ordered a small, pepperoni and anchovie pizza from Central; and, they haven't dissappointed. The crust is firm, and cruncy, yet soft as you bite in. The sauce is, admittedly, understated: yet, it is sufficient. The toppings: (again, pepperoni and anchovis, in my case.) Are pleantiful and abundtant. It's rare I wait untill a second purchase to post a review; but, in this case I'm sorry I waited. At just over thirteen bucks, my small pizza seemed like a bargain; so, I recommend giving Central Pizza a try. Good stuff. Really. read more

They have Greek style pizza that is nice and thick and the sauce is very tasty. My friend told me that I must try their grinders ,so I will definitely come back to review them. It doesn't look like much when you drive by however I was practically dying of hunger. I ordered the eggplant dinner that came with a roll of Italian bread as well as a salad. On the side I got some mozzarella sticks and spent a total of a little over $26. The dinner platter is a lot of food I will probably have leftovers for the next 2 to 3 days the taste is rather interesting who could use little bit more seasoning. The mozzarella sticks were really good and the customer service was excellent. When in the area you should definitely stop by and give central pizza try. read more

Called here to try out the tuna grinder. An angry man answered and told me take out only! I was getting take out anyways so that worked. He yelled a number at me after I ordered and hung up. I walked in to pick up and the entire restaurant was closed up except for the take out counter so it must always be like that ? Not sure. Anyways, picked up my very generous looking half a tuna for under $10 and left. This was one of the best tuna grinders I've ever had. Bread was lightly toasted. Tuna was double the portion of the pizza place down the street and it tasted great. Will be back to try more items for sure. read more

Wish they would open up for dine in again their pizza is better oven to table. They have a amazing Tuna Fish Grinder or salad the fine grind on the tuna making it a bit smoother makes it 100x's better! Very descent Greek pie. Sauce is ok - lacks any flavor I would scream from the top of castle Craig about. It's good. Definitely good sauce. The chef is playing it a little too safe. Just seems like it needs a little something. Nice crust. Thin nice - Overall very good pie for the area. The best CT HAS TO OFFER: Captains pizza in Shelton, ct so far is the only 5 star Greek pie in CT!!! Excellent everything. By far- The best CT has to offer. For Greek pie. Number2 Country pizza Monroe ct Number3 Old town pizza Trumbull ct These are top 3 in CT I THINK IN THIS ORDER. I would not say central pizza would come in top 10. I've been eating here for 7 years. Before COVID it had a bustling dining room, but since COVID, they only serve takeout. Everything on the menu is very good from the pizza to calzones and main courses, but my favorite has to be the eggplant parmesan. Man, it's delicious. You can order it over pasta or by itself. Who needs pasta when the eggplant tastes so good. I love eggplant but everywhere I've ordered it, it's cut too thick and it's so heavily breaded that it doesn't taste like eggplant. Or else, it has the consistency of mush. Not here! Central serves a large order of barely breaded, thinly sliced eggplant with a delicious red sauce and the obligatory mozzarella. Layer after layer of the tantalizing vegetable has that firmness and sweetness that it's known for. It's served with a side salad which is simple and fresh and includes a couple of olives, a spicy pepperoncini and a large piece of Italian bread for $14.95. Ad $2.00 for a large helping of pasta. The last three times we ordered (during covid) from Cemtral - our food had been forgotten. They told us it would be ready in about 20 min. We drive about 30 mins to eat at Central (we just love their sauce! ). We always place the order before we leave so they definitely have a little extra time to make sure our order is complete. Last. 3. Times. We arrive, give the woman behind the register our number and our food is nowhere to be found. They then scream at each other, run around the kitchen and after waiting an additional 20-30 mins, get our food, only to drive back home to eat it. Only thing I will say is that after the last time it happened, we did call to complain (mostly because a few things in our order were wrong after having to wait an additional 20 min for it) and were told that our next order would be on them. We were happy about that - felt taken care of. If that hadn't happened, despite how much we love the food here, we wouldn't have been back. Good save!! read more
