Centro Cali did not live up to the hype for us. The service was pretty decent, but the food itself was underwhelming, especially considering the price. The Caesar salads were just okay. I liked the focaccia, although I would have preferred croutons with the salad. The potato balls were a little too spicy for my taste and had a mushy texture when I was expecting something crispier. The clam chowder was by far the biggest disappointment. There was a strong meat flavor that overpowered the rest of the soup, and I didn't think the pizza crust topper added anything. The pizza was fine, but nothing memorable. We asked for regular ranch, but were told they only offered a hot honey ranch, which was honestly terrible. Overall, it felt like they were trying to put a unique spin on familiar dishes, but the execution didn't quite work for us. The prices also felt too high for the quality of the food. And to top off the whole experience, super loud bagpipes suddenly started playing while we were eating, which was... certainly a choice. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't return. read more

Giving it 5 stars because the food was delicious and the drinks as well. The place was very open With seating in booths, some chairs and the bar area. It is very cute inside and modern. Everything looked very clean and neat. We went on a Friday evening around 5pm and arrived right before the rush but it quickly got packed. Service was good. I noticed they came more often during the time we were having our drinks and appetizers and checked in twice after we got our food which I get it since it was very busy. Staff was able to recommend food items. I am vegetarian and they had some vegetarian friendly options like salads, vegetables, pasta, pizza options and a burger option. We ordered some pizza, the appetizer and pasta which were all delicious. They have a hot honey ranch. Drinks were delicious as well. I would highly recommend stopping by. Parking was tight so we parked across on the street. Only thing I disliked was: I did notice they add a 3% when paying with credit card or debit to any bill. read more

Centro Cali is an excellent brew restaurant in downtown Bakersfield! Although labeled a brewery, the restaurant has excellent food and serves great dishes and cocktails through table service. We came in on Friday night as a party of 8. Although they were busy, they were able to get us seated quickly. Service was attentive and friendly! They do have a very loud atmosphere. We started with drinks. While they have their own brews, they also have a very full cocktail and wine menu! The cocktails were great and I enjoyed the tinto de verano. The food was outstanding! Our table ordered a wide variety of plates. Cali Salad- huge portion with endless mixed greens and a yummy dressing Fig Pizza- my favorite one that I tried. The crust is outstanding and so chewy and tasty! Vodka Rigatoni- noodles cooked perfectly. Highly recommend adding shrimp. Great juicy shrimps cooked perfectly! I was really surprised by the food. I finally got an opportunity to pop into Centro Cali Brewing and it was delicious. The place is fairly new and is a restaurant and a sports bar. The acoustics are not that great so the place is really loud and it didn't help that I had a buddy sitting next to me in a separate booth who was talking to someone across the bar and burping loudly from all the beers he was drinking. (Gross!!) Besides that the places clean and spacious, they have a room in the back that can accommodate an office party or a large gathering of individuals. Parking is not that great there are a few spots in their lot one of them being a handicap parking space so you will have to find parking on the street on a busy night. I ordered the chocolate martini, the burrata salad with arugula, the vodka and rigatoni, and the carrot cake. The salad was fresh and super delicious. It had a splash of balsamic glaze salt, pepper, and droplets of basil oil... It was so delightful. I could eat it as my meal next time with a steak or chicken. It came with two pieces of pizza bread, which was delicious. The chocolate martini was delicious, it did not contain any milk cream or any other dairy product. I had never had one like it before, and I was pleasantly surprised. I almost like it better than the ones with dairy. The vodka and rigatoni was so delicious. I wish I could have finished the entire plate. If you plan to go there, I recommend sharing because the portions are big enough to share, especially if you're hungry and that way you can try other things from the menu. The pasta was cooked al dente , and the vodka sauce was rich, flavorful, and a tad spicy. The bowl came with finally shredded fresh Parmesan cheese, which melted and turned into a creamy gooey sauce when I mixed it all together. I definitely recommend this plate if you're looking for comfort, food, and something that is filling. The carrot cake is very delicious. It is delicate, but also rich and tasted a lot like how my mom makes it with a hint of salt. The salt was either in the frosting or in the cake itself, but when I took that first bite, it reminded me of my mother's carrot cake. This is definitely one of the best carrot cakes. I've tasted in Bakersfield and if you're going to have dessert and you like nuts and carrots and yummy frosting, I highly recommend this dessert. The garnish for the carrot cake was whipped cream, roasted or toasted almonds with a drizzle of hot chocolate. Next time I order this cake, I will ask them to hold the chocolate drizzle as I didn't think that it went well with the combination of flavors. The walnuts, however, were nice and big and crunchy. Overall, this place is great, and I can't wait to go back and try their other food. I went on a Friday night for pizza and a beer. It was busy but the wait was minimal people were coming and going. There will children accommodated also. The kitchen is open and can be a little loud with slamming of dishes etc. there is a bar area in the back with TV's throughout to watch sports. Visited Centro Cali Brewing on a date night with my husband. Located downtown in a large building (parking is limited). Hostess & waitress greeted my husband and I immediately and we started our drink order. I ordered a cucumber margarita and my husband ordered an IPA beer (apologies forgot the name). The cucumber margarita was perfectly balanced and extremely tasty. My husband enjoyed his beer which was made in house. We ordered lollipop wings (Buffalo sauce). The wings came with a garlic spicy ranch type sauce that I could not get enough of! Definitely recommend the lollipop wings as an appetizer. Next we ordered a meat lovers pizza to share. The meat lovers pizza was loaded with pepperoni and sausage, Fresno Chili's, and bacon jam. The bacon jam on the pizza took this pizza to the next level! Last, we ordered the tiramisu for dessert. I was looking forward to a good lunch after a hike. For some reason, a brewery post-hike always sounds like a good idea. At around 3 PM, there was plenty of seating and it was not busy at all. Took awhile for someone to take our orders but still all good. Had the bacon on bacon for starter and it was absolutely amazing! I could have had rice with it and it would be the best dish I have ever eaten. However, our main dish, the spicy diablo shrimp pasta was a bit of a letdown. I expected the shrimps spicy, sure. Our first time visiting, we were immediately greeted and sat at a booth. Elijah was our waiter and his service was amazing. Very friendly, he gave several recommendations, and was very patient as we reviewed the menus. He checked in regularly. Now the food... we had the bacon on bacon, ordered by the bacon lover, (my husband) and he gave it a 10/10. I enjoyed it too! We stopped by Cali Brewing for lunch on Monday, and even though it wasn't very busy, the hostess and our waiter were incredibly welcoming. I had the chicken Caesar sandwich with a cup of clam chowder, and my husband had a salad with added chicken. Both were delicious! My sandwich was huge--I couldn't even finish it. The only thing I wish they offered was a half sandwich and soup combo. We ended up coming back again on Tuesday evening for a Jam Session, and it definitely didn't disappoint! The ambiance is always great, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and it's just a fun place to hang out. I've only found out about this place last month, and it seems they have something for everyone here. They have burgers, sandwiches, pasta, pizza, soup, salad, wings, cocktails, beer, wine and more. They also have happy hour during the week if you're into that. The space is nice for all sized events. I got the four cheeses & figs and the spinach artichokes pizzas, both good. I really like the texture of the crust, my only complaint about the four cheeses is that I feel like it's a little too much cheese. I know it sounds weird to complain about a restaurant giving too much cheese, yes I did take some off once I got home so I know that is an option. It has mozzarella, provolone, goat cheese and blue cheese. I love all cheeses, but if you are familiar with them you know goat and blue cheese can be overpowering, very rich, and they were. I thought it would be different from eating the same pizza during a Yelp event I had gone to here, but they made it the same for me as a paying customer. The only ingredients they buy is the alcohol. The Red Ale beer was delicious! The three pastas we tried were delicious. My favorite was the red pasta with vodka sauce even though they were all great tasting. The Neapolitan pizza was very good also. I love that every month they feature different pizzas with different ingredients and see what the community wants and likes. The owner was at tonight's event and gave us a backstory of how the business started and how they love making everything from scratch. Went to Central Cali for a nice evening dinner. It was exciting engaging. Went with a bunch of friends for a yelp event to test out a new restaurant that has been expanding since April of last year. The service was amazing. The people were extra nice now, let's talk about the food. The pastas were homemade from scratch even the pasta themselves. We had the vodka rigatoni, fettuccine, creamy pesto. I think my favorite was the creamy pesto. It was nice sweet. The vodka rigatoni was also really nice. The fettuccine was probably my least favorite but still good very garlic. He like I like it, but they all had a bit of a salty flavor for me in my pallet along with the Caesar salad I think it was the anchovies, but I'm not a big anchovies person so can't hold it up against the restaurant cause a lot of people do like anchovies in their Caesar salad salads. Finally, we had a spread of gourmet desserts while I really was tempted for a tiramisu, their chocolate brownie and pistachios, raspberry cheesecake where the cream of the crop they have a nice outdoor space great for a nice evening, but I think overall the best thing that really blew my mind was the pizza Neapolitan style. The crust was great. The cheese was gooey. The crust was thin. I had the fig pizza which actually I was not too excited to have, but turned out to be simply the best part of the night, even though I'm not a drinker it was still a good time to go to Central Cali brewery more for the food than anything else a great gem in East Chester area of Bakersfield. I've been excited to try Centro Cali Brewing for some time now. So when my friend came into town, I knew this was the spot to go. The venue is surprisingly large. Located inside what I believe was an old carpet store, there is plenty of floor space - so it appears great for large parties. It is somewhat open, so do be aware that it can get loud. CCB also had plenty of TV's, so I imagine this might be a great spot to catch a game with friends. Our server was amazing: pleasant, prompt, and fun! All a great combo. We ordered a round of beers which were all pretty enjoyable. The pizza oven in the kitchen was impressive and definitely convinced me to order a pizza. Specifically, the fig pizza which had both bleu cheese and goat - it was creamy and delicious! All in all, a nice spot for downtown. He took so long by the time he came around we knew what we wanted to order and this was our first time here so we didn't know the menu. I saw him cleaning tables at one point I would think taking care of guests would be more important. Maybe this place should hire a busser or have the host help? He greeted other tables even took drink order for a table that sat after us and took their order before we even got drinks. He just didn't seem to care for us. My beer was not good would not recommend it was the Mexican one. My wife's drink was the guava drink it's tasted like the juice you buy at a grocery store with some alcohol.
