But other than being one scary venue, Spookeasy has food and drinks that are worth hanging around for while you take in the spookiness of the place. A full coffee bar, they already have my name on it, but they also feature sandwiches, snacks, salads, and other bar food. While I came here for a Death Cafe event, I decided to make myself comfortable by getting myself some food and lattes. Thankfully, the place serves up food that makes a visit here worth more than just a quick look around. I got myself a hot marshmallow flavored latte, and a breakfast sandwich. The latte was delicious, and I loved the marshmallow flavor I got with it to give it a more unique taste perfect for winter. It gave me just the right kick while I waited for my event to start. The breakfast sandwich seems simple enough, bacon, eggs, cheese on toast, but each ingredient was thoughtfully prepared to make one filling meal. I can tell the egg is fresh cracked and the bacon was perfectly crispy, all held together by two slices of thick toast. I also loved the fries that came with it, well seasoned with cheese sauce AND melted cheese, so I was pretty occupied and well fed during my meeting. The staff here is great, laid back, and super-friendly to talk to. They have a good vibe about them that makes me want to come back to haunt--er visit them, haha, Death Cafe meeting or not.

Literally laughing out loud as I write this review. So myself and my friend, both (almost) 40 year old women, walk up to the bar to check out the menu. The bartender walks up to us and gets instantly pissed that my friend was holding a water bottle from our hotel room. He proceeds to put a can of Liquid Death on the bar and open it. In my mind, I'm like, ohh, how sweet! Well he must have said something as he did that about how you can't have outside 'drinks'. My friend naively starts chugging the water to get rid of it. The bartender almost jumps from behind the bar to escort us out. Meanwhile, I'm just like wtf happened?! As we try to ask him, he was extremely rude and proceeded to treat us like criminals and kicked us out. Walking away, we were more confused than anything. It's so unfortunate because we were ready to buy drinks and have a good time. What a crappy ending to our night.

Lunch options are a few sandwich choices or hot meals with mostly latin entree options, all for $6 or less. Most customers get take-out, but tables are there for eat-in or waiting, and a mostly blue-collar, neighborhood clientele. Very quick friendly service. Only 2 stars because the location is off-putting to put it mildly, and I doubt many Yelp foodies will seek it out. Good portion of filling to bread. The burger and fries were honestly to die for. Perfect amount of salt and a true medium for the cooked temperature. I think the only gripe I had was that the service was a bit on the slower side when it came to flagging down someone to take our order. Granted, it was packed in there. I just felt like they were serving everyone else before coming to our section to assist. First, I wrapped up doing what I love as Your Favorite Shooter, capturing content and supporting the team. Then it was time to clock out from the camera life and clock into food reviewer mode So after the game, I decided to check out Thomas P's and see what they were talking about. Now listen, I'm trying to get back focused on my health journey, so I'm not really in my cheat day era right now. I'm more into salads, cleaner eating, and getting this body back where I want it. But that doesn't mean I can't stop and enjoy a good drink every now and then. I ended up trying a Moscow Mule because y'all already know that's one of my go-to drinks. When they sat it down in front of me, I was excited. It looked amazing. Now let me tell y'all something... they said it looked like juice. BABY, THAT WAS NOT JUICE There was definitely some liquor in there. Matter of fact, there was a LOT of liquor in there. I knew after a couple sips that I wasn't dealing with no watered-down drink. Overall, I'd give the drinks a solid 4 out of 5. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score was that I wanted a little more ginger beer because that's one of my favorite parts of a Moscow Mule. Other than that, it was a great experience. I didn't try the food this time, so I can't rate it yet, but I definitely enjoyed stopping by, checking out the atmosphere, and winding down after a long day. Now it's time for me to head home, shower, relax, and call it a night.
