If Ybor City, In Tampa, Florida, had a heart, it would be Centro Ybor. This is where the historic Centro Español is located, which was the social and political axis of Ybor City for many decades. There is a cineplex, and various restaurants, and even a wine club. Unfortunately, many spaces remain vacant since COVID.

Cute and historic. Nice walk through if you're ever in town. The buildings of brick give character to a southern historic charm. Although it was mostly bars and clubs there are other cute quirky shops to see. Walking down the strip I ran into cute little coffee shops, little hole in the wall Italian places as well as Hispanic cuisine and tapas bars. I also enjoyed different murals on the walls and the cute artistry. I stopped by a cute ice cream parlor that had a 70s kind of groove. Also one mural that I really loved was one that was captured was a Puerto Rican themed one. The only down side here is the lack of things to do if you're not a bar or clubbing person. If you have kids not much to see or do. Ybor should at least have something for little ones.

I was visiting the area after being away from Tampa for many years. I was happy to see that Ybor City hasn't been totally modernized and has held on to much of it's history. It's nice to still see some cigar factories and cigars being rolled individually in some of the store fronts. Ybor is pretty diverse and has something for most maybe teenager and up. You can shop, explore, hit the small parks, visitor center, restaurants during the day and it will be party central at night. I got there around 11 am during the week and it was fairly quite and got busier at lunch time. There are street people like any other city so just be smart. The visitor center is a great place to start and get any questions answered. They have a short movie and do walking tours. It's worth stopping. The 9/11 memorial park is well done and Centennial Park is worth the walk over. I didn't know about the roosters so that was pretty fun. Restaurant choices are plentiful! Everything from the famous Columbia to local mom & pops covering all ethnicities. Maybe try a Cuban sandwich. This is a fun day trip!

Centro YBOR has rich history. I have been to this place many time, I think is about time to gather the thoughts for this review. Centro YBOR has been Tampa jewel not just for the tourists but the history for the city. The historic building survived since late 18th century to now. The Cuban cigar was thriving at 1920. You know the Columbia restaurant alway roll back the price of 1905 at their anniversary. There are Cuban club building is very historic. You can join the historic tour in YBOR. When you see the balcony along East 7 avenue. This may be influenced of French colony. Many parade has been taken place at this street that it provided a good view. Many parades include the snow, new year, pirate, or guavaween parade. The new face of Centro YBOR has the Carmine cinema, Improv Comedy, Carne Chop House and many more. New comers include Hypo and Asiatic Noodle bar have made good addition to this area. The chicken has run wild at YBOR which is very unique. Trolley track is at the 8 Ave that connects to downtown.

Charming quaint downtown; historic cigar city. Bars and clubs get busy on weekends until 3 o'clock in the morning. There is a historic entertainment complex with a theater, comedy club, wine bars, shops and eateries.Colorful little shops lots of bars, tattoo shops, cigar bars and cafés and very colorful people hanging out. A large municipal parking garage with reasonable parking. The slow streetcar travels through it making a few stops at the Centennial Park, parking garage, Jose Marti park and center. The roosters add to the charm here.

Centro Ybor sits between 7th and 8th Avenues along 16th Street in the historic 7th Avenue district of Ybor City. Much like "The Grove" in Miami, Centro Ybor features a mix of retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues situated around a palm-lined plaza that captures the essence of Tampa 's historic Latin Quarter. There is plenty of parking in the nearby garages, or you can also park on the outskirts of Ybor City and ride the TECO Trolley / old-fashioned streetcar right along 8th Avenue, and hop off in front of the Centro Ybor eating, shopping, and partying district. Centro Ybor is anchored by the Muvico Centro Ybor 20 movie theater, and nearby you'll find some great restaurants such as Carne Chop House, Samurai Blue, and Hamburger Mary's. For entertainment you have places like the Improv Comedy Theater, GameTime, and the Electric Glide Segway tours. If you're interested in some Adult beverages then you can try the Tampa Bay Brewing Company and the Ybor City Wine Bar. This area has really cleaned up over the years, and the police have enforced curfews on the young hooligans to keep things under control. You'll feel very safe while wandering the streets and enjoying an evening in downtown Ybor. Well, except for tonight, since Centro Ybor will be "Ground Zero" for the Knights of Sant' Yago nighttime pirates parade through the middle of Ybor City. Expect lots of floats and pirates throwing beads and booty, and be prepared for the Adult behavior through the downtown area. It's great fun, but please party responsibly!!!

Great place, especially for people visiting from out of town. You should come here at least once. The night life is like no other in town. You have muvico for the moviegoers. The improv if you are in the mood for some stand up comedy. Restaurants in every corner including samurai blue, one of my favorite spots for sushi. And of course you have bars and night clubs all over. Make this your first stop on Friday night.

Interesting place. Didn't get to see the theater though - That would have been cool, I think. Plenty of options to drink at. Awesome Christmas too!

Lively place, filled with great local restaurants and places for adult beverages. Tourists fill the place but we still love to visit for food and drinks. We like to park here and take the trolly downtown.

Nice area in downtown Tampa to grab some great food and cold drinks on a hot Florida day (or night). Parking is convenient, but there is a valet. The 717 parking app is easy for parking all around downtown Tampa.

The two not so favorite dishes for me were the fried rice topped with fried chicken. While chicken was very tasty the rice was extremely basic. Could have used eggs or other ingredients to elevate this dish. Also the Volcano roll was extremely disappointing. Normally the volcano topping is cooked or (torched) and this topping was cold and very unappetizing. Would not recommend this roll. Overall this place is a hit or miss. We originally planned on bringing some family here for their anniversary but that plan feel through so we made it into a friends catch up dinner. Right off the back LOVED our server Nimah. She was funny, helpful, and attentive. And they are on top of refilling your water so you will never go thirsty. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't have much to say on that matter. The ambiance was nice. A lot of eclectic paintings on the walls. And loved the outfits of the servers. Very 20's speakeasy. There is a live jazz band that started performing at 7 pm. They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch. You will definitely have a meal and a show no matter what. Hopefully can schedule another time to bring my family because I know they would love it.

The restaurant itself is nicely laid out with a nice bar and large walk in wine room. As we only saw the main dining area that's where my description stops. Ok, we always get that "server" for our meals. He was inattentive and had no personality at all. I watched the other tables and the servers interacting with the guests and checking on them frequently, our guy not so much. He did spend more time at his other tables and even though they were seated after us, seemed to be handled and served before us. Next the place had many managers milling about as I counted 5 or 6 constantly moving about the Resteraunt. Not one ever made an attempt to stop by our table during our service. I find that a huge negative for a Michelin Star designated restaurant. One not the table next to us of six sat down and for some reason the managers flocked onto table all smiles and giggles so I'm guessing that was some VIP worthy of their attention. Let's talk food and drink now the bar menu selection is good and priced in par with other restaurants but it did have some high end offerings available. Menu is good not large but some good offerings. Bread service was good at $8.00 for 2 pieces of sourdough and two focaccia. The mozzarella cart was most likely the best part of the service. The server was engaging and it's interesting to watch the process (which we do at home and are familiar with it). The Tagliolini with Ragu was good the Angnolotti fair. We expected a better experience and left somewhat disappointed by the visit. On the bill there is a charge listed as a facility fee. Not quite sure what that is but it was 2% of the bill so why argue over it.
