Deluxe performed a service on my Oil furnace on March 6, 2026 and my wife and I are very happy with the results. Our technician was Austin and he was able to tune our furnace up and replace several parts that needed replacing. Austin was very helpful and explained to me the reason these parts needed replacing. He was educating me and I am very grateful for the time took to do so. Austin also gave us a big bonus. I had a blower fan motor replace a year ago by Carson Oil Co. For entire year I was having problems with heat blowing into our living spaces. Austin identified the problem quickly and informed me that the motor had been installed incorrectly and that it was running backwards!!!! His knowledge will save me a lot of money. Carson Oil Co. has not returned my calls regarding this mistake. Funny how that works after I spent $607 for the motor and $1700 this year on oil. A giant "thank you" to Deluxe and Austin. He walked through the issues it has and explained thoroughly and clearly. We plan on getting a new burner unit in the next year and I feel confident in returning to Deluxe for this work. We were very pleased by our experience with Deluxe Heating and Cooling. We have an old oil furnace. Over the years, it's become more and more difficult to find qualified service technicians. Many have retired, or are ready to retire. It's not unusual to receive a visit from a technician who is not familiar with oil furnaces who causes damage to the furnace during the service. In many cases, if one small component fails on an old oil furnace, the service company will recommend a complete furnace replacement, usually at highly inflated prices. After an extensive Yelp search, we decided to call Deluxe Heating and Cooling to perform a preventative maintenance service on our oil furnace. We found the technician, Ayden, to be very knowledgeable. He cleaned the system, performed an assessment of the condition of unit and advised how to best approach maintenance in the future. We learned that it would not be necessary to completely replace the system if it failed in the future. He shared some strategies on subsystem replacement. Our goal is to perform regular preventative maintenance to prolong the service life of the system. But next time we encounter a component failure, we plan to call Deluxe Heating and Cooling for repair rather than changing out the whole system to a gas or electric furnace. read more

Our fan was running at high speed constantly even after a maintenance & service call from the original installer of our system. Steve methodically went through the system eliminating suspects and explaining everything to me as he diagnosed the problem. His persistence found the problem which should have never happened if our previous contractor would have done their job. Steve is a Renaissance man bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table and I can't thank him enough for the expert sleuthing he did to solve our problem. I met Peter and his team several years ago when we were on the verge of being scammed by another service provider. When others quoted us needing a $900 repair, Deluxe Heating and Cooling fixed the furnace at our previous house for about $200. Once again this company gave us excellent service just yesterday, when they worked hard to repair a furnace on our property. When the first part they installed did not fix the issue, they gave us the part for free and installed another part instead of upcharging us for the repair. The primary thing you need from an HVAC company is trust-- when the technician turns from your furnace and tell you what's wrong, you want to know they are on the level. Deluxe was the first one that I ran across and was close to my house, but still, I check out companies that were all the way to Portland. Many of them had numerous reviews but few elite yelpers reviews. I put more stock in the elite yelpers reviews. I decided to call Deluxe because they were close, they had one elite yelp review, and just had a good feeling about them. I was not home. Melanie T was home at the time. She said that technician came out time, he was efficient, and explained everything to her. He even allowed here to take a video of him explaining what he did. He did not try to sell us on repairs that were not needed. The whole thing cost $200.00 including a $125.00 troubleshooting charge. We got luck and we got lucky that we found Deluxe. Deluxe is FANTASTIC! I wanted a heat pump installed with my oil furnace as back-up. I didn't want to trash a perfectly functional furnace and tank. Seemed like such a waste. Other companies didn't know enough about oil furnaces and could only offer to scrap my oil and replace with electric or natural gas. Deluxe KNOWS OIL and did a great job setting me up. Any problems I had, they came out immediately and fixed it (even on the 24th of December!). I love my heat pump and the oil furnace is right there when it gets a little too cold for the pump to work efficiently. I can't recommend Deluxe highly enough! read more

Conversion complete! Deluxe handled NW Natural and they were actually here much earlier than planned, had gas set up prior to installation, so we didn't have to go 10 days without heat. Goodman furnace is so much more powerful. It blew any funky debris out of the vents and doesn't smell weird like the oil heat did. Thanks, guys! I am a retired Realtor so I've worked with numerous contractors over the years. I really like Peter and his employees. They are honest and fair and do professional work. I recently had his company come out to explore the idea of adding a second heating & cooling system to the different levels of my home, as the temperature varies by upstairs/downstairs. That would have cost around $6,000. However, John suggested a different solution, involving dampers, and that has solved my problem. Cost: $250. Had a service call. There were a lot of openings even though there's a heat wave, so it was great getting an appointment the same week. It turns out our issue was more a plumbing problem so we had to call a plumber but our technician was super-awesome explaining that to us and provided us a courtesy call. I had five bids to take out the oil furnace and convert to gas. Peter was not only the best bid, but the most down to earth salesman. What I was impressed about him was not selling me the most expensive unit, but the most efficient Trane furnace given the size, age, and square footage of the house. He did not try to over sell me on the product, in fact, he dissuaded me from the most expensive unit. His follow up to ensure all was well shows his tact and customer service! I cannot speak more highly of the two installers, Dale and Nick. They were professional, courteous and kept me informed of their progress. They were conscientious about cleanliness and attention to detail. They took the time to show and explain to me what they were doing and the reasons why. Looking through these reviews I am confident that you will notice that all recent reviews are and will be 5 stars. I learned that Peter recently (hence the great reviews in the last 12 months) purchased Deluxe Heating & Cooling. Both homes I have purchased in Portland had the same name on the service tags, "Peter". Apparently he has been in most basements and crawl spaces in the city and beyond. He serviced both of my +60 year old oil furnaces and I've been thrilled with the results When I sold my rental the new buyers insisted on replacing the oil furnace that just refused to die due to Peter's handy work so in order to make the deal come together I got a quote on replacing the furnace with a gas furnace. Peter's team did a great job, showed up when they said they would and even billed me for less than they quoted (which was already less than any other quote I received). In an industry where customers are generally clueless (I sure was) it is great to work with people that act with integrity. They are great. Peter has been wonderful taking the time to explain things to me and also what options I might have down the road should I experience another problem with my old furnace. The office people are friendly and helpful as well. I needed service on the weekend and their recording indicated that there were no service people available but Peter came back into town early and called me and was able to come diagnose the problem. I called Deluxe H&C and 2 technicians came out to my mothers' home on June 14, 2019 as my mother told them of the snapping, snapping noise at night that woke her many times in the night. The company that installed the furnace in Feb told her to go down into the basement and turn it off and on when she wanted heat but could/would not fix the problems. She is 91 years old and was afraid of the furnace and the noises it made. My talking did no good, she need time out she was so afraid of it so she did without heat! The time came and I called Deluxe H&C. I was so glad I did, they are really a great bunch. Mom Sleeps all night now with no snapping sounds. They found a 9-inch gap in the furnace flue pipe (venting into the upstairs rooms of the house). She could have died from carbon monoxide poisoning (the silent killer) and we would have never known. We want to remind everyone to get a carbon monoxide detector (she didn't have one). Thank You Deluxe for fixing my Mom's furnace and saving her life. You have all the right tools and testing equipment to fine the problem, not just a flashlight like many others used. Thank You Again. read more

Ive had multiple dealings with them and everytime they leave they always clean up after themselves which believe it or not, not all people do. The owner Peter was the first person who came by. My house is only 4.5 years old and from the beginning my wife and I always wondered why our room was never cool enough in the summer or warm enough in the winter. Now that we are having our first child, I had to make sure we got our temperature right. Peter went into the attic and noticed that the channeling of the air flow was not done right so he made a few adjustments and just like that our master bedroom went from the least favorite to most favorite place to be in the house. He made sure everything was done right before he left. We also had Deluxe cooling and heating move our ac unit and they did a fabulous job. This is the email I sent to the homeowner- I should add that they scheduled us in for the next day- super prompt in the busy season! He was there from 1-3 taking things apart and double checking things that weren't even a problem just to make sure he wouldn't need to come back this year. There was some water in the tank but it was likely from condensation since the tank is so low and there's enough air in there to introduce moisture. He didn't have to run it for very long before it was back to oil. He said keeping the tank as full as you can is ideal to mitigate that problem and said you should have it serviced every other fall to clean out the screen and filter. He thought the main problem was the fuel nozzle- it was completely clogged so no oil was passing through to ignition. Again- most problems were associated with gunk- I watched him fix the thing and when he pulled apart where the oil goes into the furnace motor it was just mud. I don't think it was anything horrible- he said it was a really easy fix. You weren't doing anything wrong- just routine maintenance. And he was very nice and informative- the person on the phone when I set the appt up was great too. I will use them in the future and totally recommend them. read more

Peter and his entire crew (including Dale and Nick) were professional, friendly and they all answered all of my questions and volunteered other information that I would not have thought to ask about ...but which was informative and important to know. I am a oil-to-gas new customer and my knowledge of natural gas, its benefits and its safety issues were unknown to me. Peter patiently (and I mean really patiently) explained and addressed all of my concerns, anticipated other possible questions and answered and addressed all of these issues including taking the time to explain my various gas furnace options..and the pros and cons of each. The conversion and the installation was quick, complete, neat.and professionally done. The workers were always prompt and on-time. The bid was extremely competitive and the furnace equipment installed was top notch (i.e., Trane) The quality of the work was so obvious that the electrical and equipment inspections were a breeze and seemed almost to be a formality (i.e., inspections for the furnace installation (including a newly wired electrical circuit), a stub-out for a future gas water heater, a stub-out for a future gas stovetop and new wiring and circuit for said gas-stovetop). There were no issues with the inspections and the inspections could not have gone smoother, Man! I sure wish all companies treated their customers with the care, concern and respect that I was shown by Deluxe Heating & Cooling. I recently had Deluxe Heating & Cooling out to my house (Clay was the technician) to inspect and perform a service on my ductless heat pump. The company who installed it several years ago is no longer in business. I chose Deluxe because one of my friends used them recently and had a wonderful experience, so I gave them a shot. When I first called to ask questions and schedule, I spoke to Kathy. She was great. I already had a good feeling when I didn't get a recording when I called (I hate having to leave a message and play phone tag with companies), and the fact she was so friendly and helpful made me feel very at ease. It was really simple to get something set up - and the price was right!! Clay showed up on time, did a full inspection and "tune up" on my ductless - which included everything Kathy and I had talked about when I first scheduled. He answered all of my questions, and didn't try to "up-sell" me anything (sometimes repairmen have a way of trying to tell you that you need a whole bunch of extra "repairs" - when they're not always necessary - just to get more money out of you). He was friendly, knowledgeable, and he respected my house by wearing shoe covers and making sure he was careful moving things out of the way to get to the indoor units. (I wish I had moved things before-hand, but he said it was no big deal.) It's a good feeling when you find a company you know you can trust to do a good job and charge you fairly. During this hot stretch of spring weather we found our AC unit located in our second floor attic constantly running, but not cooling the upstairs. We left a message with Deluxe Heating and Cooling with our dilemma and they returned our call the next morning. They were very polite over the phone and schedule a time that day. Peter, the owner, came out later that day to checked out our system. The location of the system was through the ceiling of my son's bedroom closet, so it was not easy to get to. Peter was very personable and knowledgeable about his work, not high pressure at all. We talked about our options and the different Trane systems that he installs. He was honest about what we actually needed, not what the other companies wanted to sell us. He checked out the furnace coupled with the AC and explained the possible trouble areas on older furnaces. Peter showed me that everything looked very intact with no corrosion or cracks or shorted areas and said we probably had another 8-10 years so we didn't necessarily need to change the heating AND cooling. We chose his bid which was lower than the others and he and his crew were out promptly the morning after we called to accept the bid. The two main crew besides himself were Dale and Nick. They were very polite and professional as well as the others that came out to help. The guys kept the house fairly clean for having to take the stairs to the second floor and using a ladder to squeeze through a hole in a closet up into an attic full of blown-in insulation. They took about 5 hours on the job which included taking out the old AC unit and platform, replacing it with a new platform and AC, replacing the condenser unit in the attic, running new pipes, drains, and wires up the side of the house and into the attic, soldering the copper piping, replacing our old thermostat, having an electrician come out to check the wiring and power, charging the system with coolant, and running efficiency tests. Because of their tight schedule they came out the next day to cover lines and wires going up the side of the house with Line Hide system which looked just like one of our existing gutter drains. The guys were truly awesome in that they were able to do the job so promptly and professionally! They fit us in before another big job they had because he heard we had been suffering from not having a cool place to sleep. KUDOS to Peter and his crew at Deluxe Heating and Cooling! Fantastic weekend service on my furnace by owner. Definitely a customer advocate, he inquired if his response time was okay (40 minutes on a Sunday? Fantastic!!!) and explained the repair needed so even I could understand it...even offered a discount because he didn't have the part on him and needed to make a return trip (only 20 minutes later).
