The osmanthus bits in the bottom was delightful. The osmanthus was lightly sweetened, slightly citrusy and floral. The drink was well balanced between the two flavors. TL;DR: expensive drink but worth every penny I popped by on a random weekday afternoon after a client meeting and was looking for a sweet treat. There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect. read more

Decent matcha spot, they also serve hojicha, coffees, and other teas. I suppose this is NorCal's version of Airoma or a matcha based franchise. You can order ahead of time or you can just order in store at their kiosk. Location is aesthetically pleasing with an open window to let the wind in and a couple seats and small tables too. There was a rush of people coming in when we were there since it was a bit past lunch. I think there was only 1 staff member working or perhaps 2, but the wait didn't take too long. I got a text message when my order was ready at the pick up area. Probably more the clientele than the actual business, but there's a sign clearly stating, NOT A TRASH CAN and there's trash in a vase with more straws than anything, smh and some long hairs on the pick up counter. No toilet seat covers or toilet paper in the rest room, so a bit of a juxtaposition to how nice everything else looked. I got the Osmanthus Matcha with whole milk and the lowest possible level of sweetness, 50%. My boyfriend got a coffee, no sugar, and it was fine. My drink was way too sweet even at this level and even with thorough mixing. I know it's osmanthus syrup, but it overpowered more of the matcha than anything. It's no Airoma, it's definitely no Yamari (if you know, you know). I would say it's slightly lower quality in taste than Matcha Maiko (yeah I know, controversial opinion), but better than Matcha Ren. It's like a not as good dessert drink Junbi. I may sound extremely incomprehensible with this comparison, but real knowers know. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but overall in the matcha wars, Cere Tea isn't emerging highly on the ranking chart. read more

This has officially become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm on Burlingame Ave. I find myself coming back every time and somehow always leaving with at least two drinks. They've really grown into their space since opening. Any early hiccups are completely gone, and everything now runs smoothly and efficiently. Yummm!! I've had this place bookmarked for a while, so finally decided to stop by since I was in the area. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm but the line moved relatively quickly even though there was only one kiosk available. It was great that the menu was displayed on the smart TV for everyone to see as we were waiting. I ordered their signature drink - Strawberry Matcha Einspanner with half matcha shot, lactose free milk (extra $.80), and 50% sweet. Really enjoyed the intensity of the matcha and the delicious strawberry cream foam. The dried strawberries gave it a nice touch. A bit disappointed that they charge extra for a different type of milk for people like me who are lactose intolerant. The inside is small but there are a few seats available. Super happy to see Cere tea expanding beyond the South Bay! Quality is pretty consistent to what I had before - it's not the best matcha I've had but it's definitely a solid option in the Bay that I would revisit. Ceré Tea introduced me to Einspänner Matcha and Hojicha. To be honest, I didn't know what an Einspänner was at first, but it tasted great from my first experience and that sealed the deal for me. I've also tried the Earl Grey Latte as well, but I think the Einspänner is the winner. I've tried it with varying sweetness levels for the drink base and I think it goes better with a lower sweetness percentage. I personally prefer the Hojicha Einspänner but if you're a Matcha lover, I would try that one first. They also have seasonal flavors so don't be afraid to mix it up. Service is dependent on store traffic so you could be waiting anywhere from 5-15 mins for your drink. My only issue is that if you order in advance, the drink typically sits on the counter with the other completed drinks exposed. I would prefer it to be covered or in the fridge but maybe it has to do with the cream on top. Otherwise, this is a unique spin on tea that I like to have when I'm in Burlingame. read more

Great Einspanner spot near me! I love that most of their signature drinks are Einspanner. I ordered the Black Sesame Matcha Einspanner with oat milk at 50 percent sweetness. It was my first time trying black sesame and matcha together, and it was so good. I highly recommend it. It is perfectly sweet and nutty. There is not a lot of seating, but it is still a small cozy spot to stop by, sit, and relax with a great drink. Parking is mostly street parking, with some lots in the back and around the area. This place being right next to Tuna Kahuna is a danger zone for me !! I went late morning Friday and there were some people on their laptops(small table space for 2), music playing, overall a chill and comfy space. This place is just on the pricer side of matcha drinks, which is valid for its quality. But as for me, I can only get this once in a while :,) Ordered through a kiosk, the prices can get expensive. I'm so glad Cere Tea finally opened a location in Burlingame. This has always been one of my favorite places to get matcha, so having a location closer means I don't have to drive as far just to get my favorite drink. I'm honestly obsessed with their Earl Grey Matcha Latte. The combination is so unique and the flavors blend together really well. The matcha is smooth and balanced, while the hint of Earl Grey adds a really nice floral and aromatic note that makes the drink stand out from a regular matcha latte. It's one of those drinks that once you try it, you keep craving it again. My family is also completely obsessed with the Earl Grey Matcha Latte now because I kept recommending it to them. After introducing them to it, they all ended up loving it too, so I like to say I definitely put everyone onto that drink. The shop itself is also really aesthetically pleasing. The space feels open with really nice lighting, which makes it a great spot to stop by and grab a drink. I ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner, and the pudding wasn't overly sweet and had a fresh banana flavor. It was thick enough to spoon out on its own, yet creamy enough to blend nicely into the matcha. The matcha itself was well-balanced and not too earthy. One thing to note is that there is only one ordering kiosk, so on a busy weekend, you could be waiting in line for a while before getting to that kiosk. Finally tried Cere tea and was not disappointed! I wanted something on the lighter side, so I decided just to get a hot matcha latte with almond milk and 50% sweetness. I love when my drinks are piping hot, and it was probably my fault for not requesting for it to be extra hot, but my drink was barely luke warm, but surprisingly, the matcha was good enough to have me overlook that aspect! This is one of the best matchas I've had, and 50% was the perfect amount of sweetness. To order, I believe you can do it online ahead of time, or order at their order kiosk. We were looking to get a receipt, and the workers were extremely helpful and friendly! It's a pretty small space, but it's definitely a good spot to catch up with some friends! I love that they have so many different flavors of matcha, Hojicha, black sesame and other drinks for you to choose from. I went with the sunny side up matcha einspanner! FINALLY a tea spot that's hopefully here to stay. At least three other tea spots have been in that location over the past six years and it's not a location issue. Other reviewers were excited that Ceré Tea had come to town, so I decided to try it. Matcha Strawberry Einspänner - tasty, not overly sweet or overly strawberry. The strawberry compliments this drink well. No ice and an extra shot is extra, but I thought the portions were great and even accounted for the ice melting. Mango Tornado - tastes like Omomo without the tornado on the cup. It was pretty good even though it's not mango season. This place uses real mangos and the drink doesn't taste artificial. Good at 75% sweetness. I know this is a matcha and hojicha place, but it's nice that they have other options for people who have groups that don't like matcha. A new solid tea spot on Burlingame Ave! You order on a mobile order device on the counter. The barista forgot my bf's boba in his drink but it was a quick fix, they were kind about correcting that. I got the strawberry green tea with lychee jelly, fresh and good quality! They have plenty of matcha options such as strawberry, mango and even blueberry, which I'd like to try sometime. Seating is available indoors. Good music playing! Open until 8pm on a Monday which is surprising because most spots close really early on the Ave especially on weekdays. There's no trash can which results in people leaving their trash on the tables unless you walk outside the store to the nearest bin. I was craving matcha in Burlingame and searching on Yelp brought me to Cere! I came by during their grand opening period and I loved my drink that I got! The interior is pretty and clean and I loved all the plants that were decorated throughout the inside. Service was friendly and quick and it's usually busy with people coming in for drinks. You can order online or via the self-serve kiosk. The menu is on the wall to the right when you walk in. There are some tables for sitting and or working but the place is overall not that big. I loved seeing all the options for the matcha drinks and love their focus on matcha. I opted to go for the Black Sesame Matcha Einspanner. The matcha here is so good and the quality is quite high and strong. The black sesame paired well with the matcha and the cream top was great. I also recommend mixing the drink first before drinking! For quicker service, order on the Ceré tea website, especially on weekend! This cafe in Burlingame has been opened for about 2 months (November 2025), super excited that's there's one somewhat closer to SF compared to SJ/sarotoga. The matcha is super delicious, very smooth and had great flavor. Einspänner just includes an extra dollop of whip cream and toppings giving that creaminess. Feedback is to include trash cans in the store. My online order took 11 minutes, which is pretty quick for how many orders/people there were. Order a Osmanthus matcha latte ($7.25) at 50% sweet and regular ice. If you do want ice (+$1.25), you get another shot of matcha or espresso. The store was really clean and super bright. There's only one kiosk to order at the store. Many unique options to choose from, the matcha had good tea flavor, so I think any drink combo would taste delicious. read more

Might've just found my new favorite matcha spot on this side of the bridge! As someone who loves and drinks matcha I knew I had to try this spot when a friend recommended it. The shop inside is cute and has a few tables which is perfect if you want to work/study while enjoying your drinks. I ordered their double matcha as I really wanted to taste and appreciate their matcha and I was not disappointed at all! The matcha they use is nice and creamy with no trace of bitterness (I got 50% sweetness and whole milk in my drink). And it didn't have a chalky after taste like some places do. I did also try some of a friend's hojicha Earl grey latte which was amazing. I'm not normally the biggest fan of earl grey but this was blended together really nicely. I know Ceré Tea is not particularly known as a boba spot, but since boba is on the menu, I would still expect it to be at least decently consumable. When I ordered boba with my drink, it felt like I was given a large block of tapioca with many pearls stuck together instead of properly mixed. It was very difficult to break apart with just a straw and made the drink hard to enjoy. It honestly felt like the boba had been sitting there for a while and could have easily been mixed or broken up before being added to the drink, which would have made it much more appetizing. I also ordered the Earl Grey matcha, and it was extremely sweet to the point where I could not really drink it, and I already have a pretty strong sweet tooth. It tasted like a normal matcha drink with an added layer of Earl Grey sweetness on top, which made it very syrupy. If you prefer drinks that are not overly sweet or if you like actually tasting the matcha, I would not recommend this drink. I do want to add that the interior is very nice, modern, and bright. It looks newly renovated, and the ordering system is tablet based, so there is not much staff interaction. That said, the staff do seem efficient and kind. I normally enjoy Ceretea and have had a good experience in the past. The last time I came here, I ordered the mango matcha drink and really liked it. The mango tasted fresh and naturally sweet. Love the Cere Tea locations in the South Bay, so I expected nothing different from the newer Burlingame store. Ordered an iced kokuto hojicha latte and an iced earl gray matcha, both at 50% sweet.
