Usually a wait time here. I like their banana pudding matcha here. I say their sweetness level here is more than what it says.
Typical drink place. Got a Hojicha Earl Grey Latte. The Hojicha was delectable and the Early Grey syrup added sweetness and was decently strong in flavor. Had to mix all the syrup from the bottom which mad dig a bit cumbersome and uneven flavor. Was entirely empty, but we went pretty late in the evening. Drinks came out quickly. Nothing too special though. Decor and aesthetic of the place resembled the millennial pop 2013 era.
I absolutely love the matcha here! My two favorite drinks are the Black Sesame Matcha and the Matcha Einspanner--both are delicious. The matcha is smooth and flavorful, and I really appreciate that they offer a non-sweet option, which is perfect for my taste. The cream topper on both drinks is incredibly smooth and light, adding a rich texture without feeling heavy. The store is always clean, the staff is friendly, and ordering is quick and easy. Highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys high-quality matcha!
I came here a few times but never wrote a review. This matcha spot is located in downtown Burlingame. There was lots of seating inside and we got our drinks pretty quick. I've tried a few different drinks here, but the best one is the Strawberry Matcha Einspaner. The cream is so good in the matcha. The matcha is also good quality.
Pretty delicious and fun matcha / hojicha drinks. Matcha was strong and flavor forward. I ordered the earl grey matcha latte as well as a sesame hojicha latte with oat milk to share. Overall, 25% to 50% sweet was perfect for me. The sesame was smooth and nutty. Really creamy. The matcha had the perfect earthiness and wasn't too sweet. The earl grey syrup surprisingly works really well with matcha. Offers a slightly floral note. Would definitely return for more matcha kick. Each drink was close to $9 given additional charge for oat milk. I do appreciate though, that they have non diary milks options for us lactose intolerant folks. Next time would be curious to try their match and fruit combos.
Creamy matcha with wide selection! I was in the area and was recommended this place by a friend! It's located in downtown Burlingame so it's a quick grab while shopping at different shops. There's a self-ordering kiosk at the front that takes place instead of a real person taking your order. There's 3 tables to sit and do work or just chat with friends. We got our drinks pretty quickly after ordering. Drink: Strawberry Matcha Einspanner (8.2/10): Super creamy matcha latte! The default is 50% sweetness and it was honestly perfect. I got this drink with whole milk and the matcha combined very well into the drink with no clumps or separating after initial mix. The strawberries tasted very fresh and added a nice tartness and sweetness to the drink! Would definitely get again when I'm in town.
Great service and awesome music setup. Plenty of places to see the menu and so you can figure out what you want before you get to the ordering station. Black sesame Hojicha einspanner (5/5) Amazing drink that's a wonderful mix of sesame and Hojicha flavor. The black sesame is strong and generous and but with the perfect ratio with the Hojicha so they don't overpower each other. I consider this a masterpiece drink that's difficult to find. Very impressed.
I don't usually write reviews, but now that I am unemployed and lack the funds to purchase Ceré Tea as often as I did, it must be done. I'm honestly a matcha larper, if you had asked me a year ago if I liked matcha I would have told you it tasted like grass. But ever since the Burlingame Ceré Tea opened, my life has completely changed. Nothing will ever compare to immaculate flavor of the banana pudding or the vibrant green color of the matcha itself. 100/10. As I'm writing this review my mouth is watering just thinking about it, might have to scrounge up some coins and go get one :p
The best matcha in Burlingame! Not much more to say but you gotta try it out! I enjoy mine with whole milk. My sister loves the almond milk! The ube whipped cream is magical

Decent matcha spot, they also serve hojicha, coffees, and other teas. I suppose this is NorCal's version of Airoma or a matcha based franchise. You can order ahead of time or you can just order in store at their kiosk. Location is aesthetically pleasing with an open window to let the wind in and a couple seats and small tables too. There was a rush of people coming in when we were there since it was a bit past lunch. I think there was only 1 staff member working or perhaps 2, but the wait didn't take too long. I got a text message when my order was ready at the pick up area. Probably more the clientele than the actual business, but there's a sign clearly stating, NOT A TRASH CAN and there's trash in a vase with more straws than anything, smh and some long hairs on the pick up counter. No toilet seat covers or toilet paper in the rest room, so a bit of a juxtaposition to how nice everything else looked. I got the Osmanthus Matcha with whole milk and the lowest possible level of sweetness, 50%. My boyfriend got a coffee, no sugar, and it was fine. My drink was way too sweet even at this level and even with thorough mixing. I know it's osmanthus syrup, but it overpowered more of the matcha than anything. It's no Airoma, it's definitely no Yamari (if you know, you know). I would say it's slightly lower quality in taste than Matcha Maiko (yeah I know, controversial opinion), but better than Matcha Ren. It's like a not as good dessert drink Junbi. I may sound extremely incomprehensible with this comparison, but real knowers know. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but overall in the matcha wars, Cere Tea isn't emerging highly on the ranking chart.

There was no line at all, so my drink came out really quickly. Service was efficient, and basically non existent since you order on your phone, and pick it up from the counter. They have some seats indoors and a few benches outside, it's pretty spare and basic inside which is all you really need in a cafe. I saw a lot of people getting takeout, and some small groups around tables chatting. I was debating between the matcha and houjicha, then got intrigued by the black sesame, and finally after much internal debate, decided that black sesame + houjicha would work best together and wanted the einspanner. They honestly have so many intriguing options like Earl grey matcha einspanner??? Banana pudding?? I have to come back. My only complaint is the price but I guess everything is expensive these days. $8/9 for one of these drinks hurt my heart though. On the flavors: while I wish there was more black sesame (I always do), this was one of the most satisfyingly black sesame items I've had from a cafe. It went really well with the toasty roasty notes from the houjicha and I think they added enough of both amidst the milk to make it a very satisfying drink. This can be rare because a lot of places drown out all the flavors with too much milk. The best part though, was the einspanner - the sweetened whipped cream on top really brought the whole drink together and was so delicious. It made it just that little bit more decadent. I got it at minimal sweetness and at first though it wasn't enough, but I was glad I did as I worked my way through the cup, it was perfect.
Quick Self Order Kiosk. Text notification when drinks are ready. There are 4 indoor table seating available and dog friendly. I ordered the Osmanthus Matcha Latte (cold) with no modifications. However modifications included dairy or non dairy options, toppings, ice level, extra matcha and sweetness level with 50% as the minimum. The matcha was lightly sweeten and smooth. The osmanthus bits in the bottom was delightful. The osmanthus was lightly sweetened, slightly citrusy and floral. The drink was well balanced between the two flavors. Definitely would recommend a visit.
I was eating next door on a Sunday afternoon and saw lots of people going in and coming out with delicious looking matcha drinks. I watched their reactions when taking the first sip, it was a lot of head nodding and thumbs upping to their friends so I felt like I had to go in and try for myself. Went in and ordered an earl gray matcha and my partner ordered a passion mango tea w boba. The matcha & the passion fruit was so good! The boba was chewy and sweet. I would definitely recommend coming and trying! I really wanted to try their strawberry matcha but I'm always so skeptical (I have trust issues w bad strawb matchas) but the earl gray was good, so maybe I'll try next visit. The interior was nice, menu was straight forward on the wall and on the check out table -- only thing is the description of the drinks weren't shown on the menus until you're on the self check out kiosk. I was curious about the sunny side up matcha thinking it was made with real egg yolk (which I thought kinda weird?) but the kiosk said that it was mango. You didn't really talk to staff at all & the drinks came out pretty fast! Would come back again. read more
Inconsistent spot. My first visit was on 6/3, and I ordered the matcha einspanner--it was honestly one of the worst matchas I've had. I later found out they closed that same day due to some kind of sewage/health inspection issue, so I decided to give them another chance after they reopened, especially since friends recommended their other locations. My visits since then have definitely been better. My go-to is now the Double Matcha at 50% sweet. It has a strong matcha flavor, is creamy, and is really good when made right. I definitely won't be getting the matcha einspanner again though. The biggest issue is consistency. Not every visit tastes the same, but when it's good, it's good. The shop also sometimes has a noticeable bathroom/cleaning chemical smell, which isn't the most pleasant when you're sitting inside. read more

Popular matcha place in downtown Burlingame. There's an iPad ordering system, and sometimes the employee helping to take orders. The drinks are made very quickly even with one employee making all the drinks. It's a very clean and modern ambience, with several tables inside. The strawberry matcha latte (50% sweet and whole milk) was very good - the strawberry puree was the right consistency and not too syrupy, and it balanced the earthiness of the matcha flavor. I've had the earl grey matcha latte several times and it's one of my favorites. With 50% sweetness, you can really taste the earl grey tea, but it doesn't overpower the matcha flavor either. read more

I absolutely love the matcha here! My two favorite drinks are the Black Sesame Matcha and the Matcha Einspanner--both are delicious. I fled from the overcast San Francisco skies yesterday by taking a Caltrain ride south to Burlingame. It was sunny and warm! Right there in the first block of Burlingame Avenue was Ceré Tea. A small nook of a shop, I noticed quite a lot of Asian young people inside and at the two tables outside. After doing my shopping, I was making my way back to the train station when I decided to get a beverage to stay hydrated. Matcha and Hojicha seem to be Ceré Tea's focus - many combinations with various flavors. Having had a matcha latte earlier in the day, I ordered a fruit tornado mango (mango purée, with fruit chunks and a salted cream). The drink was prepared after several minutes - somewhat swiftly. The Tornado Mango was mango-y, creamy and nicely tart. There were a few chunks of mango in the drink (yum). Some chunks could have been more flavorful and seemed not as ripe :/ Overall, I enjoyed my to-go drink while riding Caltrain back to the City. Next time, I hope to try other Ceré Tea beverages plus r-e-l-a-x while hanging out on the Avenue. read more
The drink was absolutely delicious and very addicting. I've had the matcha version and it was also very good. On a weekday, there is practically no line. The shop is fairly small and there are about 3-4 tables inside to sit. Overall good experience and will keep coming back to try new drinks and/or have the same one. read more

I just tried the hojicha latte half sweet, and it was a solid drink, good amount of flavor without being overly earthy. Servers were nice enough and the drink came out quickly. Vibes are nice, but be aware that for working, there are not a ton of tables and no outlets, so you run that risk if you come here with your computer to grind (like myself). read more
Love love love their matcha einspanner !!!! So creamy, so rich , and so velvety. Perfect drink for before, during, or after a meal. You have to get it with the open lid and either mix everything together and/or eat some of the matcha cream on top. Service is always pretty quick. I've been here several times and always waited less than 10min for 2 drinks~ read more
REALLY GOOD MATCHA OMG. They are definitely super busy on weekends though so we ordered it for pick up before arriving. We got an osmanthus matcha latte and an earl grey matcha latte, both with oat milk and 50% sweet. Their drinks are on the sweeter side so 50% was perfect. The matcha flavor was so strong and it complemented the earl grey/osmanthus flavor really well. I want to go back to try the other drinks because they all look so cute!! Ok I been there only twice , but I have to admit , this is by far the best matcha tea i have ever had in the bay area. Matcha tea tastes spot on! I ordered Matcha Earl Grey tea and wow ! it's a such a great combination. My husband try black sesame matcha latte and it was great too. If they keep up with the cleanliness of the seats and tables that would become a 5 stars review. read more
This has officially become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm on Burlingame Ave. I find myself coming back every time and somehow always leaving with at least two drinks. They've really grown into their space since opening. Any early hiccups are completely gone, and everything now runs smoothly and efficiently. Ordering online is super easy, and by the time you get there, your drink is basically ready no wait, no stress. As for the drinks, they're consistently so good. The matcha flavor actually comes through strong (not watered down at all), and everything is really well-balanced. My personal favorite is still the banana pudding matcha einspann, it's rich, slightly sweet, and just hits every time. I also just tried their new raspberry cream matcha, and it's just as good: fresh, flavorful, and honestly kind of addictive. If you're in the area and like matcha, this place is 100% worth a stop. read more

Super happy to see Cere tea expanding beyond the South Bay! Quality is pretty consistent to what I had before - it's not the best matcha I've had but it's definitely a solid option in the Bay that I would revisit. The San Mateo location feels a little barebones even though they try to make the decor note. But there's some seating which is nice. read more
Wow I totally get the hype and agree that this is up there for me in terms of matcha drinks in the bay area They are so good!! Their einspanner drinks are so good and such good matcha too. I'm not sure if I actually need the extra matcha but you can order your drink with extra matcha! The banana cream for the banana einspanner is so good too! Yummm!! I've had this place bookmarked for a while, so finally decided to stop by since I was in the area. It was busy on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm but the line moved relatively quickly even though there was only one kiosk available. It was great that the menu was displayed on the smart TV for everyone to see as we were waiting. I ordered their signature drink - Strawberry Matcha Einspanner with half matcha shot, lactose free milk (extra $.80), and 50% sweet. Really enjoyed the intensity of the matcha and the delicious strawberry cream foam. The dried strawberries gave it a nice touch. A bit disappointed that they charge extra for a different type of milk for people like me who are lactose intolerant. The inside is small but there are a few seats available. Downtown Burlingame is a great area to take a stroll, grab a bite to eat, and hang out with friends for a drink. read more
I had the black sesame matcha and I liked it! I got 75% sweetness and it's perfect. There were lots of other fruity matcha and hojicha options. They also have coffee, will definitely be trying the black sesame latte next time. The service was super quick you just order at the iPad then wait for your name or a text. Ceré Tea introduced me to Einspänner Matcha and Hojicha. To be honest, I didn't know what an Einspänner was at first, but it tasted great from my first experience and that sealed the deal for me. I've also tried the Earl Grey Latte as well, but I think the Einspänner is the winner. I've tried it with varying sweetness levels for the drink base and I think it goes better with a lower sweetness percentage. I personally prefer the Hojicha Einspänner but if you're a Matcha lover, I would try that one first. They also have seasonal flavors so don't be afraid to mix it up. Service is dependent on store traffic so you could be waiting anywhere from 5-15 mins for your drink. My only issue is that if you order in advance, the drink typically sits on the counter with the other completed drinks exposed. I would prefer it to be covered or in the fridge but maybe it has to do with the cream on top. Otherwise, this is a unique spin on tea that I like to have when I'm in Burlingame. read more
This place being right next to Tuna Kahuna is a danger zone for me !! I went late morning Friday and there were some people on their laptops(small table space for 2), music playing, overall a chill and comfy space. This place is just on the pricer side of matcha drinks, which is valid for its quality. But as for me, I can only get this once in a while :,) Ordered through a kiosk, the prices can get expensive. Especially for the lactose intolerant people like me :,) Service went by FAST, and they were nice! I ordered: Elnspänner Plain Matcha - Classic and strong(especially if you get a double shot) their foam on top was a great little sweetness addition too. Elnspänner Banana Pudding - THIS was insane. They literally put banana pudding on top with foam. I will say, this is a pretty heavy drink, and I got full from it LOL Sunny Side Up Elnspänner - Honestly this was perfect, and my favorite drink on the menu. We all have our favorite matcha spots, and I almost didn't want to like this place, but it's actually pretty good! I ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner, and the pudding wasn't overly sweet and had a fresh banana flavor. It was thick enough to spoon out on its own, yet creamy enough to blend nicely into the matcha. The matcha itself was well-balanced and not too earthy. One thing to note is that there is only one ordering kiosk, so on a busy weekend, you could be waiting in line for a while before getting to that kiosk. I'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks. After seeing what others ordered, the Hojicha Einspanner looked amazing and is definitely next on my list to try! read more
3.5/5 My friend and I got the Strawberry Matcha Einspanner ($7.75) and the Double Matcha ($8). Their drinks are definitely on the sweeter side and while we got both drinks at 50%, it was still very sweet and dessert like; if that's up your alley, then this is the spot for you. If you prefer a stronger matcha place, definitely go lower than 50% sweetness! They have wifi and 3 tables for WFH vibes. They also have a little nook front area with lounge chairs for yapping. read more

Great Einspanner spot near me! I love that most of their signature drinks are Einspanner. I ordered the Black Sesame Matcha Einspanner with oat milk at 50 percent sweetness. It was my first time trying black sesame and matcha together, and it was so good. I highly recommend it. It is perfectly sweet and nutty. There is not a lot of seating, but it is still a small cozy spot to stop by, sit, and relax with a great drink. Parking is mostly street parking, with some lots in the back and around the area. Since it is in downtown Burlingame, it can get very busy. I will definitely be back to try more Einspanner drinks!! read more

A new solid tea spot on Burlingame Ave! You order on a mobile order device on the counter. The barista forgot my bf's boba in his drink but it was a quick fix, they were kind about correcting that. I got the strawberry green tea with lychee jelly, fresh and good quality! They have plenty of matcha options such as strawberry, mango and even blueberry, which I'd like to try sometime. Seating is available indoors. Good music playing! Open until 8pm on a Monday which is surprising because most spots close really early on the Ave especially on weekdays. There's no trash can which results in people leaving their trash on the tables unless you walk outside the store to the nearest bin. I'm so glad Cere Tea finally opened a location in Burlingame. This has always been one of my favorite places to get matcha, so having a location closer means I don't have to drive as far just to get my favorite drink. I'm honestly obsessed with their Earl Grey Matcha Latte. The combination is so unique and the flavors blend together really well. The matcha is smooth and balanced, while the hint of Earl Grey adds a really nice floral and aromatic note that makes the drink stand out from a regular matcha latte. It's one of those drinks that once you try it, you keep craving it again. My family is also completely obsessed with the Earl Grey Matcha Latte now because I kept recommending it to them. After introducing them to it, they all ended up loving it too, so I like to say I definitely put everyone onto that drink. The shop itself is also really aesthetically pleasing. The space feels open with really nice lighting, which makes it a great spot to stop by and grab a drink. It is a bit on the smaller side and doesn't have a lot of seating, but the design is still really cute and cozy. The people working there are also very nice, which makes the experience even better. It's such a great addition to the Burlingame area, and I'm really happy there's finally a location closer by for when I'm craving their matcha. read more

I was craving matcha in Burlingame and searching on Yelp brought me to Cere! I came by during their grand opening period and I loved my drink that I got! The interior is pretty and clean and I loved all the plants that were decorated throughout the inside. Service was friendly and quick and it's usually busy with people coming in for drinks. You can order online or via the self-serve kiosk. The menu is on the wall to the right when you walk in. There are some tables for sitting and or working but the place is overall not that big. I loved seeing all the options for the matcha drinks and love their focus on matcha. I opted to go for the Black Sesame Matcha Einspanner. The matcha here is so good and the quality is quite high and strong. The black sesame paired well with the matcha and the cream top was great. I also recommend mixing the drink first before drinking! If you want matcha and are in the area, I recommend coming here to Cere Tea! The vibe is very relaxed and the staff can help you if you have any questions about the drinks on their menu. read more

For quicker service, order on the Ceré tea website, especially on weekend! This cafe in Burlingame has been opened for about 2 months (November 2025), super excited that's there's one somewhat closer to SF compared to SJ/sarotoga. The matcha is super delicious, very smooth and had great flavor. Einspänner just includes an extra dollop of whip cream and toppings giving that creaminess. Feedback is to include trash cans in the store. My online order took 11 minutes, which is pretty quick for how many orders/people there were. Order a Osmanthus matcha latte ($7.25) at 50% sweet and regular ice. If you do want ice (+$1.25), you get another shot of matcha or espresso. The store was really clean and super bright. There's only one kiosk to order at the store. Many unique options to choose from, the matcha had good tea flavor, so I think any drink combo would taste delicious. read more
Yasssss for matcha! I just happened to stumble upon this place after having lunch with my family at a nearby restaurant. I was craving for some matcha and found Cere Tea to be nearby! I love that they have so many different flavors of matcha, Hojicha, black sesame and other drinks for you to choose from. I went with the sunny side up matcha einspanner! I also added some boba in it. Everything is ordered through the touch screen and they'll call you for the order. The matcha drink price is about average $8-$10. I'd definitely come back to try other flavors next time I'm in the area! read more
