Terrible service!!! While on vacation in Wyoming my husband called to order pizza (Pizza Carrello) for our two daughters. I dutifully arrived at a local (WY) store to pick up said order, which of course, they never received. Apparently he called this store in Tacoma, WA. While regrettable an understandable mistake given that the spelling of the two stores is one letter off. After collecting dinner I received a call from a man who proceeded to call my husband "stupid" and said I needed to "get him a brain" and was verbally abusive. Now, I know I'm not the most patient person on Earth, however compared to this guy I am Mother Theresa. I know small businesses struggle, however treating potential customers this way has to be why this guy is CLEARLY struggling for business. Quick note to the angry little man, Dude, life is good! There is so much to be happy and grateful for! The $30 you missed out on for this sale (which, by the way, I would have paid for before you became abusive) is not worth your happiness. Best pizza in town! The owner is a man of his word. Recently we ordered a thin crust pizza that kind of got tossed around upon delivery. We called Cerellos and the Owner offered to bake us another pie and to deliver it later in the day when he had an available driver. We were certain he would forget. How wrong we were!!!! Around 6:30 that evening there was a knock on the door and a fresh baked pie! Delicious! That is why we will be repeat customers - the Owner of Cerellos could have easily blown us off. We order Cerellos for lunch often here at my work. Sometimes it's one pizza, or days like today, it's 13 pizzas! Every time we bring it in for lunch, people ask for cards so they can order it for themselves. It's great, fresh pizza, and the owner Bosco is the best! If he's short-staffed, he'll deliver the pizza himself, and is always eager to help ensure we are satisfied customers. Have you ever been to Italy? Just asking. Cerello's pizza, wine cafe is more than an Italian restaraunt. Indeed, I believe that this humble pizza joint located in a west Tacoma strip mall next to a chevron and a vape shop may be the key to unlocking so many of our world's shortcomings. But more on that in a minute. I walk into this establishment with an empty stomach and low hopes. The exterior isn't very noteworthy, just some cliché Italian-American decorations. But, like a piñata or a new lover, it's what's inside that counts. Walking in, you are greeted with a nice seating arrangement and, at your 12 o' clock, a classic soft drink minifridge and register. The interior makes me think of a Little Caesar's joint that took a semester abroad in Italy and has a newfound life purpose. In time, the owner greets us and takes our order. He has a nice manner about him, very likeable. Almost TOO likeable.... Scroll down to the other reviews to read all about him, his life story, and maybe if you're lucky you'll find a little cameo from the man himself! But that isn't why I'm here. He's a cool, no-nonsense guy, I like that. We order the turkey bacon avocado sandwich, the garlic chicken pizza and to start we got an order of the cheesy bread twists. Now, the real twist in this story is that the cheesy bread is fantastic. Coming out piping hot, this appetizer was crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside, reminiscent of a tootsie roll pop on All Hallow's Eve. It could possibly be one of the best items on the menu. Unfortunately, I have to say that this tale takes another cheesy twist when the sandwich comes out. It kind of just tasted like an egg mcmuffin, which makes me wonder if the McDonald's across the lot was selling egg mcmuffins that tasted like turkey bacon avocado sandwiches. Food for thought. Either way, the sandwich definitely wasn't bad, just a little underwhelming. Like a handjob on a second date. That said, there are always two sides to any coin, and a plain stem may give life to a beautiful flower. The garlic chicken pizza is so, so much more than garlic and chicken. In fact, I would hazard to say that garlic and chicken are the two least represented ingredients in this circle of art. It seems as though you are looking at a Jackson Pollack painting of onions, pepperoni, tomato, mushrooms, cheese, and of course the garlic and chicken. Looking at this and tasting it is the culinary equivalent to the climax of Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture, when the orchestra is going bananas on the instruments and people are shooting cannons and shit in the background. Much like that song, it's hard to pick out a distinct flavor in the pizza, but the chaos coming together in a perfect storm of flavors actually brings it all together nicely. It was a little soggy at one end though. Cerello's pizza, wine cafe is definitely worth a visit if you're living in Tacoma and looking to go somewhere a little nicer, or if you're living in Fircrest and want to go somewhere a little worse. But, for the 0 people that read this far, let me return to my original thesis, that Cerello's pizza, wine cafe holds the secret to world unity. Cerello's is, in concept, an Italian restaraunt. It does this well. However, it is also a cafe: a traditionally French approach to dining. If we look back 70 years, we see just how far this little pizza place has come; an allied as well as an axis power, coming together by the common man, for the common man. Now, take this restaraunt and put it in 2010's America, in a strip mall no less, with a pride and emphasis in delivery, a classicaly American concept. What better to sew together our deeply divided nation than Cerello's pizza, wine cafe, this shining example of cross-idealogical unity and cooperation. Cerello's pizza, wine cafe, I salute you. You are doing the Lord's work when no one else will. You deserve all the success in the world for that. They have some of the best pizza. We usually get it delivered and it IS ALWAYS HOT AND FRESH. SERIOUSLY. The menu is not huge but we have never been disappointed. We have tried everything and recommend it all. The delivery time is pretty average, no problems and its so fresh. It isn't greasy and flappy, but cooked nicely and to perfection. It is in the spendier side but worth it. For having a local option, you get your monies worth. We tell as many people as we can! The owner is so great and the staff rocks it out! The pizza was pretty good, it had a light sauce and I was really happy that there wasn't a whole lot of grease or any that I could see. The pepperoni was under the cheese and the cheese itself was good and the sauce had a nice flavor. The delivery was pretty quick which was nice. I ordered hot wings with the pizza and they forgot the ranch but that doesn't matter much as I have some here but they did forget it. I would suggest trying this place out. read more

Why do they call themselves gourmet?? The pizza is better than dominos, but that doesn't say much. No better than Costco though. And the pasta and cannoli are both so gross! Especially the cannoli! I love the food, but the personality of the owner earns the restaurant an additional star. I feel like I want to jealously guard the restaurants I love because I don't want them to become too crowded. But this place has consistently great pizza, good cannoli for a surprise dessert, and great cheesy bread. One time a friend and I waited for our order to be ready, and the owner surprised us with a glass of red wine while we were waiting. Went there for the first time today. I had read some good reviews so decided to check it out while running errands. We decided on an array of appetizers for lunch, all of which were delicious, and fairly priced. The manager was very friendly and really appreciated our business. We shared the boneless chicken wings, chicken roll, and crusted meatballs. All were very good and plenty of it. We took some home. They do have indoor and outdoor seating now. Another poster had written they don't have indoor seating. Next time we are anywhere to close to Cerello's, we will be stopping by again. Not only was the pizza great and wine well priced but the owner was fantastic, he topped off our wine and made us feel completely accommodated. On top of that, my car was broken into while we were dining there - of no fault to anyone but the terrible people who did it, but the owner stuck around to help me with the entire situation.
