Food court

I've decided this is where I want to be buried when I die. You walk in and are slammed by every food-related sight, sound, and smell you could hope for. They've got a "street food" cart right at the entrance where you can grab a few quick snacks without waiting in line. There's a food court to the right with all the grilled and braised goodies you could hope for. Look to your right and behold; Jollibee! Not only that, but their bakery, "Red Ribbon", and another bakery one door over! All this surrounding an enormous store with groceries, snacks, vegetables, hot bars, raw and cooked seafood, home goods, and anything else you can think of. It's like any other traditional market where you trade "white glove" customer service for amazing food and goods at really good prices. If I lived in the area I would be here every day for lunch and/or dinner. The vegetables were all fantastic quality and really well priced. The snacks and baked goods I got were also really good. Especially since the skewers had probably been sitting out for a while. I will for sure be going out of my way to visit next time I'm in Chicago.

I'm filipino and I usually don't like to go to Seafood City because it enables the less desirable proclivities of pinoys when it comes to food (unhealthy) options. But I so appreciate this pre-cut vegetables that can be useful for solo/small family groups.

Meat anyone?

First time at this location! Surprisingly quiet on a Saturday morning. We enjoyed shopping for grocery items and eating at their food court! I'll try more when I visit again.

The store is clean and busy! Really like their seafood and meat variety. It's definitely a plus. They have hot foods available and multiple food court. The only con is the security at the door. He checks your receipt before exiting the store. It would be nice if he wore a color vest or something and communicated things over. He was a bit rude to us.

2 skewers on the plate cost $8

I've been coming here since they opened in this location and generally like the supermarket. We often get grilled food here, usually to go. I've felt for a while that the grilled pork and chicken skewers were a bit overpriced for what you get. However, now there's absolutely no doubt these items are way overpriced. It's been 4 skewers for $16 for a while, but when I was there the other day they've made the skewers even smaller than before. So small that they no longer put them in a bag but rather a square box. So essentially your paying $16 for 4 measley skewers made of of scrap meat trimmings on a wooden stick, thrown on the grill and sauced. Kind of ridiculous in my opinion and I will no longer purchase these grilled skewers anymore. It's $8 worth of meat on my plate here. I'll still shop here, but will pass on this overpriced item.

Solid, no-frills, tasty food at reasonable prices. Lots to choose from, hot and ready. Watch the grill master behind the plexiglass. Point point to your heart's desire. Eat at the tables provided or grab some groceries and eat at home. Bring your reusable bags to be green and save some coin.

Centered around Filipino products, however you'll find other products from other Asian countries, like Korean and Chinese. Explored the store to see all the offerings, found few items that I made mental note for next visit. The food court was super busy, but was able to grab few items before I left. Didn't get to visit the bakery, but that's for next time. Parking was a bit of challenge, but if you look hard enough, you'll find a spot.

It's amazing to have a huge Filipino grocery store (but it also has pan Asian food like Korean and Chinese and Taiwanese) in Skokie IL. Inside you will find 2 bakeries and Crispy City, a meat department, Jollibee, Noodle Street, Grill Street which are fast food sit down stores. Lots of mango foot items like cake and drinks and desserts at the grocery store. It's fun ... prices are a bit pricey but that's what you get for having a unique grocery store for mostly Filipino food. It's great. Plus a lane for older and pregnant people how considerate.

Came to this supermarket to try Jollibee which is attached. I was so excited because they had some hard to find Philippino products. I have searched high and low for Tropics lumpia wrappers in this City. Finally able to make the lumpia that I love. Cool supermarket. Parking lot was crazy and happy that I parked by the Target. Plenty of fast food items to buy if hungry. In addition, huge produce section. Impressive meat selection. Nice that market didnt smell like fish!!!

Overpriced and not very good food. Quantity and not quality. Seems popular but can't say I would recommend.

It is not pet friendly. I never saw anyone bring pets to this market for all of times that we have visited.

They sell Mi Goreng.

Do they have chinese cocnut buns?

No but the bakeries onsite have great options with coconut.

Do they have sushi?

I didn't see any on my visit.

Do they import fish from the Philippines? If so, it is farmed fish or from wild stock?

Not sure but if the prices are too good to be true then I would suspect it came from off the coast of Japan near Fukushima.

I hate knocking a small business but it's really hard to be excited about my experience…read more Pre-ordered a lobster roll and the mussels for 2 (which comes with most things you need). The lobster roll was mostly bread and very little lobster. The lobster in it was very small, stringy pieces and nothing like the large chunks in their own Instagram images. I would be willing to pay more for a better sandwich with more (and better) lobster. It wasn't premium lobster in look or taste to be honest. This sandwich, in its current form, is a hard pass. Mussels were okay. A few that didn't open, but that's to be expected. I'm not sure how fresh they were since they had a bit of a fishier scent. They give you a head of garlic, a lemon, a baguette and a tub of compound butter. It's great in theory, but the butter was tasteless and I could just as easily used my own butter and other ingredients. The customer service was okay. We called ahead to make sure they had all of the elements of the mussels as part of the package and the person ringing me up still had no idea what I was talking about. In the end she made sure everything was there after I brought it up so it was fine. One other issue I had was that they just put the mussel mesh bag in my bag and they leaked mussel juice/water over everything else in the bag. Two of those things were tinned fish gifts for someone else and the cardboard was soaked in fishy smelling liquid. I know there is a new owner and I really hope he does the things he needs to improve and make this place worth it. Right now I can't see going back when there are places like Boston Fish Market that get it right.

The store was immaculate and well-stocked. They offered several brands of the item I was looking for. I couldn't leave the store without checking out their bakery department and treated myself a mile-high chocolate cake. It was the highlight of the visit. The cake was heavenly. The store shares an enormous parking lot with other businesses. I will definitely spend more time in the store on my next visit to see what else I can find.

It is within walking distance, which is a plus, though I do watch the prices and go to Mariano's or Jewel when they offer more for less. EVERYONE at the meat/cheese counter is great, and friendly. They really do know their stuff, though at times, I wish they had a ticketed numbered system. It would prevent me from going off on some of the older Eastern Euro clientele when they try to butt in line. NOT happening! The cashiers are efficient, though there is a tall male one that is new to me. Feels like his name should be Draco. Would almost pass for AI, due to his height an personality, though AI can be programmed to be charming and efficient. He literally saw me put down items on the belt and looked like he was confused as to what his role was, then asked me if I wanted a bag for all my purchases, despite it being obvious that I had none with me. I had to get snippy, because, well, I had to get snippy. Oprah did mention them in one of her shows, so they got "trendy" afterwards, but as other reviewers have said, they do carry items that you would find more at a Treasure Island than a Jewel, Aldi, or Mariano's. They are good for that. Now, if they would only work on their AI cashiers and make them more personable, then I would give them a five star rating. Especially since peeps in the hood voted down Amazon from taking over and planting seeds on the corner of Western and Lawrence, to take over the grocery store market.
