We've been using Cervantes Tree Service for several years because they do such a great job. They come in, get the job done and everything is cleaned up when they leave. I noticed most of the 1 star reviews are about Alex not showing or rescheduling. Well he did the same crap to me then I soon found out why. After he trimmed the palms in my backyard, which took an hour tops, I worked out a deal where I would work for Alex to cover the service fees I owed. Fast forward... So at the end of a day removing 4 trees at this location, we were ready to wrap it up, then the customer comes out and I overhear her asking Alex if he could trim 2 other trees not mentioned in the agreement. Now personally, I wouldve told her "hell nah, its too late for that, we're going home" but Alex being the nice guy he is without hesitation tells her..."OK." So I've seen where people are coming from in the reviews and I've seen thats its not done because hes a jerk, but actually a nice jerk. First time using Cervantes Tree Services and will not be our last! We trusted Alex and his team to trim our large tree in the front yard and from the moment they arrived they made it clear our satisfaction was their priority. From start to finish they were prompt, professional, efficient, and kind. The job started around 11:30 AM on a Friday and they finished by 3:30 PM before I got off of work and had I not been there I wouldn't have known they were there, because they did such a good job cleaning up afterwards ensuring our flower bed/yard and the side of my neighbors house were clear of leftover debris. I was truly impressed with the team and the outcome of the service. The way they shaped our tree exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely continue doing business. read more

Strange experience. Alex showed up for a quote. He quoted me a few prices and made a date for the work. He did not show for the first date saying that his son was in the emergency room, so I let him off the hook and made another appointment. He did not show for the second appointment saying that he needed to finish a job and that he would come the next day. He never showed up for the third appointment. So, I made a fourth appointment. He never showed. I decided to let him go and get another tree service. I texted something along the words of that either he couldn't or didn't want my business politely He texted me and said he would come Saturday at 3pm. I said no and that I found someone else. Then, he shows up out of nowhere at 1pm, right after my son leaves for the store. I was surprised to see him and, in my night/house dress, because I just moved my car for my son. So, I started back to my door. Before I got to the door, he said that he was at his uncle's funeral. I just said, "no, no, no, no" and went into my house. He texted me again and stated he would do the work for a reduced amount, but frankly, I did not believe or trust him at this point. I felt like he wasn't taking no for an answer no matter what I said. He was now trespassing in my mobile home park/my property. Luckily, he left, so the police did not have to get involved. I wish he did not have my gate code, etc. Later that evening around 6:30pm, Alex texted me with "on my way". I texted that I would get the police involved if he did not leave me alone and that if he came into my mobile home park/property that he would be trespassing. He finally stopped texting. Looking back, I felt that he was enjoying putting me off, flexing his macho muscle and trying to scare me. I don't need this kind of weirdness in my life. I was just trying to get some branches trimmed. Looks like other customers suffered similar treatment. Do not recommend. Run the other way! read more

Alex and his crew were very professional, they made sure to tie down any big branches to prevent them from falling on my roof and put plywood sheets in front of my windows to prevent damaging the windows and house! Thankfully they were able to come out within two days of booking them and it took them roughly 2-3 hours to cut the tree, remove the stump with a grinder and clean up. read more

Very unprofessional. Lots of poor reviews & now I see why. I met for a quote on a remodel property of mine & they showed up late. I wanted them to take 2 seconds to look at mowing a lawn & a sprinkler repair, they didn't. They wanted $650 to trim 3 branches, then stated "I'll be back in 5 minutes". I did not hire these people, but my neighbor did. He has them trim his palm trees about twice a year. They were dropping palm fronds into my yard, which are very heavy, and I saw them break my sprinkler off. Anyway, I went outside to confront them about it. At first, they claimed it wasn't broken. When I turned on the water, it was obviously broken. They tried to shove it back together but I knew this wouldn't work. The son, Alex, accused me of speaking rudely to "his people". All I wanted was their card so I could have them pay for fixing the sprinkler, which was broken off underground. I went into the house and told my husband how rude this Alex was. My husband went outside to speak to them, and this Alex threatened to FIGHT MY HUSBAND!!! This was so crazy. I later spoke to a man who said Alex was his son. He apologized for his son's behavior. I felt sorry for the father. His son has some sort of anger problem. I would never hire them. read more

I spoke with Alex and sent him my address. I needed a HUGE eucalyptus tree trimmed in my front yard, as well as Removing a large branch that hung over my neighbors driveway. Alex and his crew showed up about two hours later, we Agreed on a price, and his crew started right in working. I pointed out to them, my flowerbeds that we're under the tree and requested that they protect my shrubs and plants. And they did very well!!! My neighbor had a car in their driveway, and they were not home, so Alex's workers protect the car with plywood. I am very pleased with the quality, and cleanliness of the work. I was very impressed with the care that they took to protect my flowerbeds and shrubs from falling branches. I highly recommend Cervantes tree service. One more thing, I was not given a price break to write a positive review for this business. Updating my review. Made an Appt for estimate. Never showed up. Called them again. They said would be there in 2 hours. Never showed again. The next day they promised to start the work at 8am. They called to reschedule to 1pm. Nevered showed up and never tried to contact me. Do not recommend. Will not use them again. This is by far the very worst service we've ever had they came out to remove 2 tree stumps and left a huge mess and didn't clean up anything they left the wood chips in a huge pile in my front yard and didn't remove all of the tree roots when asked they said that they don't clean up any mess which I know is a lie they are very unprofessional and very rude I would never recommend this company at all my grass is ruined in several spots and when I asked alex the owner to come please finish the job he said yes and never showed he kept making up excuses and had his girlfriend speaking for him which she seemed to be very ignorant herself here's a few pictures of the awful mess they left and the damage they did to my front yard read more

Terrible customer service!! I would give them no stars if I could. 3 different occasions said he was coming out and never showed. I would try to call him to find out if he was still on his way and he would not answer. Then he would make an excuse hours later. After 3rd time we decided to go with someone else. These folks are tree removal scammers, they take advantage of our senior citizens and use intimidation tactics like threats of filing liens against seniors property. I didn't appreciate them making these threats against my sister. These folks failed to complete the job by leaving the tree stump in the ground. After a month of them not returning to complete the job, my sister was forced to have another service to come out to finish the work. The aforementioned company wanted to charge additional money to come back to remove the stump, which should of been done on the first trip. I wish I could give zero stars. So beware of this business they did rip my 75 yr old sister off. Luckily we have legal resources of family members who are lawyers who can give her legal advice on how to deal with these types of matters. They were very nice and reasonably priced, so we agreed that they would remove a tree that I have out front of my house. They were very quick and cleaned up nicely. This company is horrible on follow thru, they cut/removed our trees and were supposed to grind all the stumps below the surface and repair any damaged irrigation lines. When I requested, they return to repair the irrigation lines and finish the stump grinding they agreed. They set a date and then didn't show, after numerous attempts to contact them, I concluded they have no intentions on returning to complete the job. We needed to have three 30 foot Cypress Trees removed from our front yard. Obtained three quotes and Cervantes was the lowest by about $150. He showed us his contractors license, liability insurance, and workers comp insurance. Showed up first thing this morning at 7:30am and they left at 8:45am. They cleaned up every bit of the mess and our yard looks GREAT. Will definitely use them again! read more

Cervantes Tree Service IS as good as it gets. First, the price was considerably lower than the next lowest bidder. I checked his contractor's license with the state and everything was up to date. He had proof of insurance, liability and workers comp. On the day of the appointment they showed up on time and ready to work. All of my walkways, fencing and windows were covered with plywood to prevent any damage. It was a tough job because not only did they have to remove the trees and stumps but they also had "miles" of roots to remove. After the job was done they raked up all the cuttings and used a leaf blower to get the rest of the debris. The crew was courteous and hardworking. I have some tree stumps on another property and I will have them back to remove those. read more

Alex and his team did an amazing job on our trees in the backyard. The neighbor was complaining about my Modesto Ash tree branches going into her backyard, and I called Alex because I will be honest, I saw reviews saying how affordable he was. He gave a quote for both of my trees combined, and the next morning (today) he and his entire team was at my house at 10:30 in the morning. I swear, the amount of work and vehicles that go through with this operation made me feel so bad that he offered such a low price because when I came home, I was floored. My trees looked spectacular, and he even cleaned up all of the fallen leaves from the backyard. His team also makes sure to put boards to block the windows in case there are no accidents to them. Alex and his company are insured with worker's compensation insurance as well as having the proper licensure. I will definitely recommend him and his team to anyone that needs tree services and I will use him again in the future. read more

My tree had fallen over and they were paid to haul it off and grind the stump down. They said were going to come back the next day and grind the stump because the didn't have the right equipment. They were paid for both. They Stopped returning texts and phone calls and became rude on the phone when asked to come out and finish the job.
