Unique experience with the cheeseburger taco. I thought it was great! Live music is good but sometimes a bit loud for a Mexican food vibe.

This place, on 2nd Avenue was nice, quiet, and with great music. If Broadway is too loud or too busy for you, this is a place you will like. I did not try the food, but it looked good, and everyone there seemed to have been having a good time.

I'm pretty sure this is the one spot in Nashville that I've been to more than any other. It's not on Broadway, so it's typically pretty quiet. It gets busy, but, it's more "chill" than the big honky tonks. The tacos are great and the margaritas are amazing! The staff are always great as well and it's just an overall nice place to relax a bit... great happy hour specials as well.

They have amazingly talented entertainers here on Tuesday! I went with friends on a Tuesday and I was delighted to discover the musicians. My food was mediocre but I gather my friends enjoyed theirs since there were happy plates all around. The decor was rustic country bar so it was cool. The facility was pretty clean and it wasn't crowded. It's kinda on the side of Broadway which I thought was super cool bc you don't get distracted with the people on the street. Overall pretty fun spot for drinks. They totally have daily specials so it's within a budget.

The food was ok. The margaritas were just ok. I went with a party of 5 and no one was really impressed with the food. It's not bad it's just ok. On a positive it's right off the strip and easy to get to. The lights on the street gives walking to the restaurant a nice atmosphere at night. Now I can say everyone we came across was really friendly and they did have live music. So it is a nice little spot to experience with a pretty good size bar.

So I was wondering downtown Nashville on a Sunday afternoon. The sounds of the music as I came by caught my ear. I came in. Was only half full or so at the time. So I ordered a Skinny Margarita. The ambiance, music and amazing marg got me to text my wife and mother in law to leave their conference and come hang out and drink. It ended up with lots of margaritas, several scorpion shots and meeting new people!. We had an amazing time here. We did get the loaded nachos to eat. They were really good! But the good times we had were the best of the week there.

This place was okay for food but the drinks were awesome, specifically the coconut margarita. We stumbled upon this place because we were actually waiting for a reservation at a different place for breakfast food, so originally, we were only going to drink here and get an appetizer. We sat down and didn't have service for a while, but when we did, our waitress was nice and quick. I ordered the coconut margarita which was phenomenal. It had toasted coconut shavings on top and it has perfect blended consistency like a pina colada. The next drink I had was called La Playa, but I didn't care for it too much and wish I ordered another margarita. As for food, we ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole, and these were so good. The guac was full of flavor and we loved that they include both red salsa and salsa verde with their appetizer. While waiting for our app, our other reservation contacted us, so we ended up just staying here for lunch, as well. I ordered a steak taco, ground beef taco, and a mahi-mahi taco, and quite honestly, I didn't love any of them. None of the meat had any flavor and the tortillas were eh (I like soft corn tortillas better). My steak was very fatty and bland, and the fish was hard and burnt that it tasted oddly like chicken to me. I had to have my husband try it, and he confirmed it was fish because he hates fish, but it still wasn't good. My husband ordered the bacon and egg burger and he enjoyed it. Funny thing is he mentioned the delicious bun being soft and good before ever mentioning the taste of the burger, though. The fries were delicious! Overall, I'd definitely try something else for food, or next time I would just stick to drinks and apps.

Loved this place! Excellent street food. Great low prices. And free entertainment. Highly recommend you try the Cheeseburger Taco and the Bacon & Shrimp taco. Finger lick'n good. A good place to stop for a quick snack and refreshment, Who knows, you may stay awhile...

Popped by on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. There was a gentleman singing with his guitar and was taking requests. I ordered the spicy chicken taco and the strawberry sunset drink. Both were delicious. This is off of Broadway, so the sidewalks are not overcrowded and the music is not blaring.

The amazing Shelby Rae, bartender & all-around great human. Yes, just met her, but you know people by the way they make you feel.

Five star service at the bar. Nashville can be big and cold. Finding a place to make you feel like you're at home was completely unexpected. Thank you Shelby Rae and Cerveza Jacks. Great location near the river off Broadway, live music in the AM, a great bartender who gives excellent suggestions, a tight menu...what else could you need? I've been to about a dozen bars/restaurants on and near Broadway (Ole Red, Jimmy's, RTB, etc ) and this is the one that I am very likely to visit every time I'm back in Nashville... It's a sure thing if Shelby Rae is tending bar. Thank you for the great food and drinks.

We stopped her on a quiet Monday afternoon for lunch. I LOVE Mexican food - and since I don't eat beef, I am a little hard to please. They did the job! We started with chips (house made), quac and salsa - OH MY GOD GOOOOOD! I had far too much of that though and only ordered one cauliflower taco - that was SO good! Wish I had room for more. It's a cool little place, with a neat vibe. Music was great, service rocked, drinks were alright. But the food, y'all..... yum!!!! Worth a visit.

Really enjoyed the Hot Chicken Taco and the Carnita Taco was tasty, too. Between the two, I think the hot chicken one wins! The pretzel nuggets were hot and tasty - I do wish the cheese sauce was cheesier and a little thicker. But, overall, I would get them again! Our waiter was nice and the entertainment was awesome - two people playing and they played very well together. Great location, too!

Great live music and huge wrap around bar with a local feel.

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The guacamole and chips were the standout of the meal. The guacamole was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and served alongside warm, freshly made tortilla chips that were hard to stop eating. We also ordered the esquites, since I'm a huge fan of authentic elote preparado. The flavors were delicious and well-balanced. My only suggestion would be to serve the esquites warm, I promise it truly takes the dish to another level. As for the tacos, the presentation was beautiful. The Al Pastor tacos looked fantastic, but they leaned a little too sweet for my taste and were missing some of the bold, smoky flavors I associate with traditional Al Pastor, like guajillo chiles, oregano, and other aromatic spices. On the other hand, the chicken tacos were excellent. They were juicy, well-seasoned, and flavorful enough to shine without needing much from the toppings. To top it all off, our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the entire experience enjoyable. Overall, Bakersfield exceeded my expectations. While it may not replace the authentic taco shops of the Southwest, it's definitely a solid choice in Nashville, especially if you're craving flavorful Mexican-inspired food before a night out.

Little Rey serves Tex-Mex in a casual setting next to the Vanderbilt campus. You order at the counter and seat yourself, making this an ideal spot for a cheap, casual lunch or dinner with a crew. There's a dedicated private parking lot (almost unheard of in this area!) and lots of great indoor and outdoor seating. I came in the early evening on a weekday for dinner and it wasn't too crowded. My chips and piping hot queso came out immediately, and my chicken al carbon taco was ready by the time I got back from the salsa bar. The salsa bar is free and amazing: 6 cold dips and 1 hot dip, full of freshness and flavor. I opted for two of the mild sauces, which were super fresh tasting but not spicy whatsoever (that was on me and my choice). One small note: the self-serve setup made the salsa bar a little messy and unkempt, and I wish it had been tidied up a bit between customers. I came in craving great chips and salsa and on that point Little Rey absolutely delivered. The chips were thin, crispy, salty, and delicious. The queso was super hot and liquidy, not spicy. Perfection. The taco itself was more of a letdown: flour tortilla was cold, chicken was a bit dry, and without the addition of salsa it felt lacking in flavor. They're supposed to be well known for chicken here, so that was disappointing. For dessert I got the vanilla soft serve with chocolate and crushed buñuelos on top. Smooth, creamy, with perfect toppings. The large was a bit too much, but at $5 it was an unbeatable price for a tasty dessert. My whole meal, dessert included, was under $20, which was such a pleasant and affordable change of pace to the surrounding area. Service was friendly, kind, and fast. I'd come back for the chips and queso and soft serve alone, but I'll keep my expectations low for the other items.
