Nice getaway right off Broadway for actual good food and drinks. Good food is Hard to find near the Broadway area. Scorpion Shot for the win! Cerveza Jack's has a super fun/friendly atmosphere with incredible tacos and music. Being almost a block off Broadway makes this place easy to get to but a completely different vibe than the Broadway bars. Couple a visit here with one to the Stillery and you'll really enjoy your night. read more

Solid little bar, closer to 3.5 stars in my opinion. We came on Taco Tuesday during happy hour. 2-4-1 Buena Cervezas (not all good beers, that's literally the name of it haha). Also, $2 or $3 tacos depending on what you want. I got a chicken and a steak and my girlfriend a chicken. They brought hers out incorrect so they gave me the extra taco which was cool. I found the meat to lack a little flavor but the guac was outstanding and pico pretty good as well. Overall, STUFFED tacos but I'd take a smaller more flavorful version instead. Live music which was pretty solid despite the annoying Wisconsin folks being obnoxious (not the bars fault). Fun spot to stop in for a taco and a drink on Taco Tuesday. read more

Been coming g to Nashville for 20 yrs. Broadway is overly priced and over played. Jacks is one of the last bars where they serve food and still play country music. We spent several days here drinking and listening to music. Drinks were reasonably priced and so was the food. Not a great deal but not overly priced. The neg is the chorizo y papas Taquitos. They were mushy and burnt. Ate what I could but afraid of breaking a tooth. This was on Sun afternoon. And the bartender female didn't seem like she was in a good mood. She said it was her Friday before a day off so she was looking forward to the end of the day. She was negative or anything I just didn't want to add to her long work week by returning food. On Monday a new female bartender and she was really cool. Friendly and the food was much better. If she had been working the day prior I would've felt more comfortable returning the Taquitos. But this place is still a great place to hang. read more

A lively bar with lively food with a bit of a Mexican twist. We stopped in here for a great drink made from orange juice and rum and enjoyed their famous Nashville hot fried chicken taco. The taco had huge chunks of fried white meat drenched in a spicy cayenne pepper sauce with a dab of cooling coleslaw on top and served on a street-taco-sized flour tortilla. The sweet cool drink was the perfect pairing to douse the fireworks from the hot chicken. Other items on the menu also looked good and even at lunch there was live music which was really nice. Random choice for lunch while strolling downtown Nashville, and it was a lucky win! The music was good, so strolling in for lunch to listen sounded like a good plan. Who knew bacon and shrimp quesadillas could be so good?! Like most places with live music, it's loud so don't come in thinking you will have a quiet little meal. After trying 5 other bars on Broadway, we heard the angelic voice of Hallie Long, which caught our attention, and brought us in at 5 pm. Well, we didn't end up leaving until they kicked us out at 10, for last call. A coworker and I stopped in for lunch in the middle of the week. One of the great things about Nashville is that there is live music in every single restaurant and bar you go into on Lower Broadway. They had an excellent musician playing her guitar on stage. What a voice! The only downside to having live music is that it is hard to have a conversation, especially since restaurant has an echo. We sat at the bar and had a very nice bartender serve us. He didn't rush us or make us feel bad that we were not ordering alcohol - it was a work day. Best not to get fired before the holidays! I ordered the Chicken Torta. It was really good. A soft, squishy bun lightly toasted with chopped chicken in an avocado mash. Messy but good. My coworker ordered the Hot Chicken taco entree - two tacos with rice and beans. Cerveza Jacks is not where you would go if you want authentic Mexican food but it is not a bad stop for a quick bite to eat in the middle of a work day or while bar hopping in the area. read more

If you're in the area of 2nd St. and Commerce this bar is a definite stop you have to take in. The wife and I spent numerous nights in Nashville on vacation and would always end up at Cerveza Jack's. We would like to give a great thank you to our bartender CiCi! she was the only bartender of all the bars we visited to greet us with a glass of water. This was an honored gratitude with this being a very hot week there. CiCi was also super friendly and would engage in conversation and joked with us when we did our scorpion shot "which the wife couldn't finish spitting the scorpion out" lol! The atmosphere is great with a large bar in the center and seating in the front and sides. The stage in the front of the bar made it easy to interact with the great singers/bands for listening entertainment. I would recommend stopping by and doing a scorpion shot. read more

After a full day of music and day drinking, this place surely hit the spot. It was not very crowded at 4pm when we arrived, so we grabbed a table close to the band that was playing. Our server Lena was awesome. She made some great recommendations and we started with the Nachos which were loaded with everything under the sun. The chips were fresh fried and super crunchy. Not salty at all and that was good because there were so many flavors to use them to dig into the meat, cheeses and mixins that were piled on top. Our drinks came up quickly and then our tacos arrived. The BRISKET TACO made with cubed smoked brisket, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, cilantro, cotija cheese, bbq sauce, in flour tortilla was so very good. Cutest little pirate bar just off Broadway. Great place to escape the honky tonks and listen to an acoustic duo set. Benny and Bobby were AMAZING. What a show!! Carnitas Nachos and Mahi Taco are unreal. Must have! My friend got the burger and ate every bite. Staff was so friendly and you could tell they love working with each other. We had a couple spicy margaritas and they did not disappoint. They have a secret special on the menu too. $10 for a tequila shot and a beer. So my friend and I stumbled into this place on a road trip from Illinois to Florida when we stopped for lunch. It was a Tuesday so tacos and margaritas were on special of course. At the time Leo was our bartender. He was very pleasant and easy to chat with. The food was good and the margs were strong. If I ever found myself in Nashville again, I'd definitely return to this bar. Exactly two years later I moved to Nashville. This was one of the restaurants I frequented often. Mostly on Tuesday nights cause weekends are pretty crazy. The music is always high quality. The hot chicken tacos are to die for... although the steak or cheeseburger ones are good too. I ended up going on a date here. Even though I left with him, I definitely gave our server my number since we both recently moved here, and she was crazy cool. I needed friends okay? Moving to a place where you know no one is hard. Every Tuesday we would hang out and eat tacos and go bar hopping after her shift. Unfortunately she moved back to Florida and I moved back to Illinois, but we're still friends. So what I'm trying to say is, cervezas doesn't only give good service and awesome food (try the guac. You won't regret it), cervezas creates friendships and makes unforgettable memories. 12/10. Would recommend. Also my dogs middle name is Jack named in honor of this restaurant so you could say I'm a fan. read more
