As far as bars on Broadway go, this was is pretty much on par. Nothing special or set apart, but nothing wrong either. I think the one plus is that it is probably one of the few that doesn't only play country. This is the 2nd time I've gone and the other time it was more punk rock. So calling this place a "honky tonk" seems deceptive. All in, if you want a brake from the twang on the rest of Broadway, escape in here to hear something different. read more

One of the best OG bars in Nashville on Broadway. Sure it's not bright glitchy and modern like the bars of some of the big artists but the beer is cold in the entertainment is traditional country. Nudie's Honky Tonk can be found on Broadway and has live music all day long. They are also dog friendly, which is why my husband, our little girl dog and I stopped by this afternoon, around 1:40 pm. As soon as we walked in, one of the bartenders smiled and said how cute our dog was and that it made her so happy to see her (lol, we are used to hearing those comments when we are with our little girl because she truly brings so much joy to others when they are in her presence). We we came in, there was a band playing. Then sometime after 2 pm, another band eventually came and started playing. During our visit, we ended up ordering the following: Corn Dog Basket, 2 Corn Dogs, $11 prior to tax- This meal comes with fries. You can choose to have 2 corn dogs, like we did or you can get this meal with a single corn dog, which cost $9 (prior to tax). It wasn't too long of a wait after my husband ordered with one of the bartenders (there was a sign on the table letting patrons know that they can order at the bar). Honestly, the food was just okay. My corn dog could have been cooked longer, as part of the batter was a little doughy, even though the corn dog was hot. The fries could have been crispier. But there was quite a large amount of fries to share. ------------------------------ (Total= $12.49 after tax and 3% surcharge for using credit card) I would recommend coming to Nudies for the music and for the alcohol and not so much for the food (unless we ordered the wrong thing). Service was friendly. For the most part, most of the employees we interacted with were all in smiles (in addition to the singer in the second band who gave us a big smile when she saw us walking out with our little girl). Overall, our experience was positive and would come back. Please note that there are 2 other levels, including a roof top bar. But we only stayed on the first level (the restrooms are on the lower level, but didn't use it during this visit). read more

Famous old school honky tonk so had to stop in on a Saturday night. No line at all so popped in looking for some country jams. Unfortunately there was no live music playing at all and only a DJ on the roof top bar. The 3 story venue was pretty empty and really lacked any vibe. I went in last night with some friends who are in town celebrating their engagement. I went up to the bar on the first floor and was attended by a little Hispanic bartender who seemed to be stationed in the middle between two other females. I asked for a casamigos soda with lime and a soda water with lime. She served me a tequila water and a soda water. I drank them both and came up for a second order and stated, "this time I'd like a casamigos soda with lime and soda water with lime" emphasizing the order. She gave me a tequila water again. I stood there and accessed the situation, knowing it's not worth making a stink about. But then she approached me with a shitty attitude, "what's the problem" aggressively. I've managed in the service and hospitality industry before. This chick should be suspended or be given a string of bad shifts, her behavior is ridiculous. I can confidently say I won't be returning to Nudies. We will see how this establishment deals with their subpar employees who represent the company. read more

11/17/23: OMG another fun bar. Warning it's about 3 loooong flights up and nooo elevator! Upon entering a huge car hanging from the ceiling once again sensory overload. As there were no seats we headed upstairs to the rooftop area. Great choice. We actually stayed for about 3 hours listening to music. If ever in Nashville check out where Jericho Rose is performing they are amazing, entertaining and all out FUN. Note: there's a giant ice water glass container where folks achieve their own water. You order at the bar receive your number and they bring food to the table. There is a separation once you leave the covered area of the bar and walk to the open rooftop area there is security there ensuring any drinks in glass are poured Into plastic cups. Jericho Rose sang variety not only country and highly encourages requests. Throughout their performance many dirty toasts, they had us patrons in stitches. As we exited and another group performing downstairs and patrons dancing and having a great time. I truly enjoyed time spent. read more

We were drawn in by the music and found it to be the PERFECT stop on Broadway! They were one of the only places playing rock (and heavy rock, at that, too). Tesla Dawn and the Butterfly Effect was on, and they were OUTSTANDING! We got a couple of drinks there which were well made, and the decor was very neat with lots of things to look at on the walls. My only complaint is the space; because it's the longest bar, the whole place is long and skinny making it crammed when listening to the band. Lower Broadway is full of live music bars (lucky us!). So what sets this one apart? Firstly, you can be fairly up close to the band which makes for fun interaction. Secondly, there is often a band playing rock. Even metal. Bonus points! And thirdly, it is a bit of a well kept secret as it bears the name of a music industry clothing designer (I'm looking at you, Elvis) and not a county music mega star. So even if you haven't "heard of" Nudie's, do yourself a favor and stop in. There is a difference amongst many of the honky tonks. For me, this one hits right. They have a long bar and many tables with plenty of seating. Live rock music from 70s, 80s, 90s which is definitely my vibe. Clean restrooms, good service, priced accordingly. The music is what first attracted me and then I walked in and the air felt amazing. I first went to the restroom in the basement area and it was clean. I came back and sat down and the young lady gave me a menu. I perused the menu and ordered the chicken tender basket and sweet and spicy margarita. I am not a spicy fan and I felt my stomach immediately start to hurt, so I asked for a regular margarita. The regular margarita was just ok, nothing spectacular. The chicken tenders and fries came out fresh and hot. They tasted amazing! I would definitely order them again. The only thing I didn't like was that I was charged $0.50 for ranch when it was supposed to come with the meal and it was not noted that ranch was an extra fee anywhere on the menu. I overall enjoyed the restaurant and would probably come back if I was ever in the area. read more

I wanted to check this place out since i saw a few billboards on the freeway driving into nashville from the airport. when you first walk in, there is a stage for the band right next to the door. There's also a very long bar where the counter is covered in morgan silver dollars (very cool!)... also on the first floor is a gift shop located in the back of the first floor. I believe the bathrooms are located on the lower level. I didn't stay too long on the first floor and made my way upstairs. On the second level, there's similar music playing. I really don't like country music so i kept heading up to check out the roof top. I'm glad i did, there was a DJ playing top40's mostly EDM and Hip-hop, and the balcony overlooking broadway is a very cool area to people watch from up top. Drinks were alright, nothing special. I think beers were 7 bucks and mixed drinks were like 11-12 bucks? I also believe there's bathrooms on the top level of the building as well. The reason i'm giving this place 4 stars is that it has something for everyone. While the majority of the people were checking out the country bands, at least for people who don't really enjoy it, there's options for you too. read more

Great place to hear live music on Broadway, and to make new friends. Have been several times to hear the Handsome Hangovers.

Visited this place back in April with my girlfriend, and was disappointed with the service. The night started when I ordered a beer and shot combo, and the bartender responds "are you serious?". I pointed to the drink menu where it was, thinking maybe she was new. My girlfriend joins me a bit later, and we got ignored when trying to get the attention of the same bartender - multiple times. On the flip side, other guests were being acknowledged next to us, and it became clear that the bartender was actively avoiding eye contact with us. We did notice that there were other bartenders there counting out their tip, so this could have been a point in service where there was a lag between a changing of shifts. However, the first interaction combined with being actively ignored makes the over all experience negative. read more

Nudies had a great rooftop with a beautiful view of Downtown Nashville and Broadway Street. They don't play country music on the rooftop, but the DJ was playing some great dancing music.
