Some people enjoy an ice cold beer, I on the other hand love the tasteful acidic tingle of a good ceviche. Before visiting this spot, I was surprised they've survived (given the niche concept), but I was surprised to find that they serve more than ceviche. That's not to say that the ceviche isn't a highlight. I ordered the fish (the options were fish, shrimp, tuna, octopus, and a mix I believe), and it was PLENTIFUL, delicious, and full of flavor. But, in addition to the ceviche, you have to try some of their other beautiful offering. Aguachile, horchata, elote, shrimp tacos, aguas frescas, clamatos, micheladas, chamango, spicy fruit cups, chowder...take your pick. I love that most drinks come in a variety of flavors. I love that I noticed a toddler high chair in the corner (incase you need it). I love that my food was prepared fresh, in a timely fashion, and that the dining room was intimate and clean. The only thing I would change is the service. When the team member or owner was with me, she was with me, but I didn't exactly feel "cared for", meaning the individual who helped me had earphones in their ear, so I wasn't exactly sure if I had their full attention and felt uncomfortable possibly disturbing their conversation. Additionally, upon retrieving my order, I was thanked in a pretty hasty fashion, without eye contact with the team member almost immediately turning their back to me and rushing off. And while I'm not usually a fan of healthy food, this was fantastic. From the fresh seafood to the perfectly cut vegetables I was very surprised to enjoy it so much. When you order, the person at the counter (either Rosa or Enrique) ask you about your taste preferences. Based on your feedback they make it the way you will love it. When I ordered, I wasn't sure if I'd be full after eating something that looked light. Wrong, it was a sizable amount - and each bite was delicious. My family and I came to try this spot for the first time, we ordered Michelda classic, rusa, agua fresca de cucumber and limon and chamango for drinks. The fish tasted fine just didn't like how they prepared, spiced and sauced the ceviches. I did get a fired plate and that was pretty good. I will not be returning. Found this randomly while searching Yelp and thank God I did. Located in an old, old shopping strip the interior is modern and customer service is great! Great spot with great service! I wasn't planning on stopping by, but my husband wanted a mangonada , so we decided to try it out. The place is small, but still has enough space for small groups and social distancing seating. They really take their time making the orders correctly and they stand out in comparison to similar places of this type. My sister-in-law and her husband joined us & ordered ceviche plates. They both said their food was delicious and finished their plates. The portions were very generous. We had a mangonada, an agua fresca (watermelon), a sweet fruit cup (you can choose up to 4 fruits & variety of toppings), and corn in a cup (also with choices). I've ordered for lunch. Several times and the seafood is def fresh. Hence the name lol but it's not just a gimmick it's true. The cucumbers and ropings also crisp. But beware of the spice levels I ordered a Agua Chile in spicy and the habanero got me. My husband was anxiously waiting for this place to open at the Kuykendahl location. We stepped in and were welcomed by the friendly staff. They took our to go order, 2 shrimp cocktails mixed and ceviche mixed and we sat in the restaurant to wait. It was clean and they were playing beautiful music so no problem waiting a little. When our order was ready we were asked if we wanted chips or crackers. The chips are homemade and thick so definitely chose those. When we got home the order was correct and they even remembered my jalapeños on the side. The shrimp cocktails were in large cylinder plastic containers and could definitely be shared. My husbands ceviche was loaded. Definitely worth the price! The first bite said it all it was packed with flavor! I didn't have to add anything to my cocktail. It has a little bit of everything! Cucumber, red onion, cilantro, avocado unlike other cocktails I've had where it's just shrimp floating in sauce. The ceviche according to my husband is the best he's had in this part of town.
