We walked in and we're asked if we wanted to eat here or to go. We said here and were immediately seated. The waitress brought out water, menus, and a set of plates and utensils. We ordered wontons, egg rolls, general chicken, cashew nut chicken and vegetable chow mein. Everything was a la carte, we couldn't figure out if they had a entree with sides option where we could pick from the menu so that we didn't get separate orders for everything. I didn't mind having to order a la carte, and they delivered for the amount of food we got. The wontons tasted like they were freshly made, the green onion on the inside definitely tasted fresh. The wontons were my favorite (plate of 6). The egg rolls were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, also a plate of 6. The general chicken was sweet like orange chicken and not spicy at all. The cashew nut chicken was incredibly soft and tender, really good. The food was generously portioned out and the staff were incredibly friendly and visited our table to refill waters and ask how we were doing and if everything was good. The restaurant was also very clean and I loved the decorations. The best part is we took our leftovers home and they tasted just as good, if not better, reheated on a skillet. read more

One of my favorite Chinese places! I've been here a couple of times, and each time they food has been on point. Recommended dishes: 1. Hand shredded chicken - it comes out as a mountain, and the flavor is amazing. I'm impressed by both the portion and taste. 2. During the COVID pandemic, I've been cooking a bunch at home. But some days I crave good ole fashion traditional Cantonese dishes that are beyond my culinary skills. So on those days (excluding Monday's... the day they are closed), I rely on CF Cheng. Recently for dinner, I called in an order for pickup. I ordered two dishes that I have never ordered before from them. I got the Steamed spareribs with bittermelon in black bean sauce, and Salted egg yolk shrimp & green beans. Well... the verdict on those dishes... Capital D - Delicious! The bitter melon was stir fried without the oiliness and right amount of tenderness while still retaining some of that biting natural bitter taste. But don't worry, they prepare it in a way that it's not as au natural bitter as it could be... which I admit I prefer, but I'm in the minority on that it seems. The steamed chopped pork spareribs were also tender. Nice ratio of meat to veg. The other dish was perfectly fried with a light crisp coating. It had a balanced saltiness. Perfect! The wait time was pleasurable as we did not have to wait long for our food to be prepared (perhaps this is because we came rather late in the evening). They have a vast menu with a plethora of options to choose from. There is even a section dedicated to vegetarian options. The service was phenomenal as the cashier was friendly and made special accommodations for my order. The prices are rather modest (in between $ and $$. Maybe I would say are an excellent deal for the price! The flavor was spectacular. It felt like the flavor was hugging my tongue. You can taste the love that was put into preparing this meal. Lunch today was a snug and delightful fit. I have to say they do a heckuva takeout business. That being said, those waiting for takeout orders take up a majority of the open table space waiting for their orders. If you are one of those people, please be cognizant of that. We were lucky enough to grab the table by the door! We ordered four dishes for the table that came out staggered over a 30 minute interval. Portion sizes are generous and the value here is great, but our server kept apologizing for the extended wait times. The table next to us actually had to request a to go box for their food that hadn't even arrived yet due to time constraints. We love their Tomato Beef Chow Mein Hong Kong style which is the noodles are crisp. This restaurant is nearly an hour drive away, and I still come here multiple times a year. It's rock solid for a Chinese restaurant and consistently good. Even normally-simple dishes like Chow Mein are an exceptional blend of noodles, meat, and vegetables. Small restaurant, less than 10 tables inside. There were two servers working and it seemed busy around 4ish. Got seated for a table for two but wasn't given a Menu. After waiting awhile we had to get up and grab the menu ourselves that was lying around nearby. Took some time for service. After ordering, we were automatically given forks and had to ask for chopsticks. The portion size of our order isn't small but also not huge but upon scouting the room that might differ because other tables had mounds of food on their plate in comparison. The shrimp fried rice flavor wise was on the plain side. The Sichuan shrimp barely had any sauce in it. The vegetable chow mein and Egg drop soup was just ok. Maybe we came on an "off" night. Rarely does a Chinese restaurant make food as colorful and with finesse as CF Cheng. If you don't know, they actually have two menus. One with a safe offering of American-Chinese food, and the other a wide offering of authentic Chinese classics. My personal favorites are: -steamed fish(their seafood is always fresh), if you don't know how to order this, just ask what's in season -stir fried seasonal vegetables (currently ong choy is my go to) -salt and pepper chicken wing ...served with rice of course. Besides my own mother's cooking, it's probably the best Chinese food I've had in America. I'm surprised they don't already have a Michelin star.
