Been going to Chaat bhavan since 2012, I absolutely love Chaat bhavan for my vegetarian cravings. Fresh,delicious and flavorful chaat snacks each time. Love their thalis so Much although I can never finish those platters even tho I think I can each time I've ordered their house thalis. Of course, their Chai and pakora are on point with 2 flavors of chatnis. I recently went to chaat bhavan to try my fav samoas with papdi chaat, pakoras with chai. I'm glad I took a pic before devouring my plate. (Btw, their customer service had always been great, I've barely seen this restaurant uncleaned or messy! We did catering from here for 20 ppl. Food was amazing. Really good service. Food was completely packed and ready at pick up time. One of the person helped to load it in the car. Food was super hot and tested freshly cooked. We ordered vegetarian thali , every single things was yummy. Paid in cash to have some additional discounts. In the taste department I would rate this as one of the best in their chain in bay area. The place is a bit small. It gets pretty packed most of the times but then, that also says how popular it is. The food is fresh and arrives fast once you are assigned a table. Service is decent. Prices are moderate. Chaat ingredients looked made fresh in house. All food is a bit bland though. If you like your chaat to be more spicy, ask them to avoid the sweet sauce or reduce it. Pani puries(the puffed flour balls) were made fresh and served warm. We enjoyed garlic naan too. Value for money. Huge portions. But the food was missing flavors. It looked great but when tasted it was bland. The bhel puri and kadi on my thali is worth a mention. The thali comes with choice of bread but for some reason we were not given all the choices and were being directed to order the rotis. Maybe the other items like chaat are better here. The food just above avg, I have been their customer for years (5) now. The good: - they have the best catering trays and last min orders for group less than 60 is really quick. - they have the best parathas (all of them, I love them and highly recommend) The ok, not-so-good: - their food is prices high but the taste is super avg. Nothing unique. Definitely can be a ok let's eat something kinda place - the. Wait time is like 15-20 min on peak hours. So going with family, kids and elders definitely be prepared for waiting. read more

Today went in for Mother's Day lunch and it was one of the worst service we got. I have been going for few years and ever since they opened their other location all the employees changed and the new employees are so horrible. They don't even know how to control rush hours and I can see the quality in food going down. The food seemed like it was from last night. They need to do something about this location because it is frustrating seeing such a good restaurant going down due to employees negligence! They need to a good supervisor or manager that can make them do there work right! Hopefully it changes soon! read more

I've been getting takeout here for almost 3 years from this restaurant now and it really deserves a review. Long overdue Place is always busy and rightfully so. This is easily the best Indian restaurant I've found in the Fremont/Hayward area. Consistently good quality food, not too oily, consistently kind staff. I've tried a number of dishes here and nothing has been short of delicious. All of these are very worth a try and have re-ordered pretty much all of them: Usal Pav, Chaat Samosa, Masala Bhindi, Chana Masala, Mulligatawny soup, Veg. Biryiani, Batata Vada, Sprouts Bhel, Aloo Baingan, Aloo Gobi, Aloo Gobi Mattar, Aloo Palak, Malai Paneer, Chili Paneer, Rajmah, Tadka Dal, Baingan Bhartha, Dal Makhani...and of course the fresh breads, chutneys, pickle etc...so good.
