Be aware this restaurant is an Indian vegetarian establishment. I somehow missed that when I visited and was very disappointed. That aside, there is a decent amount of free parking. The strip mall is pretty busy so be careful when parking. Didn't have reservations, but was able to be sat right away. The host was very friendly. The menu is a little hard to follow but then again as I mentioned, also didn't know it was a vegetarian place. When we asked where the meat options were, only then did we know they don't have meat! We decided to stay, and ordered a couple dishes blindly. When they arrived they were lukewarm and lacked flavor. Really don't have much more to say. I'm not rating it low because it's vegetarian because that's clearly my fault. I'm rating it due to the taste of the food itself. Lukewarm and just not the Indian flavor you are accustomed to. Food was delicious. We had stuffed kulchas and garlic naans with malai paneer. Our server, Jatinder took good care of us.

Came around 12:30pm on a Saturday and it was oddly quiet, but by 1:30pm it got really busy and people were waiting for tables. We tried the pani puri, dahi papadi chaat, vada pav, malai paneer and kofta curry. The pani puri came deconstructed. I would have preferred the puri's to be prefilled, but I can see how some people might like filling their own. The dahi papadi chaat was on point. The two curries were good. This place is pretty good if you're looking for vegetarian options. The menu is extremely extensive. The space is spacious with many cushioned seats available. It's a great place to come with friends or family. As for the ambiance, the place feels clean and comfy. Unfortunately, service wasn't great when I came on a Sunday morning at around 11:30am. The restaurant was fairly empty but the servers seemed to be doing their own thing and we weren't seated for a while. Upon seating, we also weren't given menus until we flagged a server down. And when we had leftovers, the same server came with containers and a paper bag, and he put the paper bag right on top of our dirty plates!! The paper bag was all oily from the plates lol but at that point, I just wanted to take my containers and leave. Though I wished the service could be better, I would still consider coming back if I wanted to get vegetarian Indian food. read more

I'm very sorry to see the quality in this place go down significantly in the last few months. Food used to be consistent in taste and quality here. Recently, the taste is variable, breads are undercooked and chaat items are put together with stale ingredients. On multiple occasions, food components have smelled or tasted old/rotten and on one occasion caused us to fall sick within hours. Service was always impersonal and it was food that brought us back. Food is good as long as we stick to Chole batura and behl or a few tried and tested items with which it is hard to go wrong. Ambience is good. But avoid weekends and Friday nights. Gets very crowded and quality drops like a brick. We asked for two appetizers including their October special and batura as a main dish. Twenty minutes later we got the Batura with no onions etc. We never got the appetizers and when we asked why it was because they were too busy to make it.....Fremont badly needs a good chaat place. By far my favorite Indian restaurant. I drop by here with my family all the time. Attentive waiters, well-lit environment, great food. (I keep coming back for their mattar paneer.) Also really appreciate all the Hindu iconography and the commitment to vegetarianism. A lot of "Indian" restaurants are covertly run by Pakistanis trying to use the "Indian" brand because nobody would want to eat at a Pakistani restaurant. Have seen this restaurant for so many years, but this was the first time I ever come to eat here. My wife wanted to eat vegetarian food and asked me to go here. I was a bit skeptical, but she's always right so...had to agree. I was so pleasantly surprised on how good the food was here. Ate so much of everything too. Went to chaat bhavan with my family and we ordered few items. One of the item was chaana masala and tarka daal. Both items was unflavored and raw, specially chana masla it was so hard we couldn't eat, when we told this to our server he went to call the manager or whoever was at the front register (his name was jagjeet) when we told him that chana is hard and kids can't eat replace it with some other dish he refused it. And told us will give us some off on the dish we didn't ate. And let's not forget there boiled tarkadaal. Management wasn't help and so so rude. They usually present bill while guests are the table but this man asked us to come to register since we want a discounted on the dish they didn't cook properly.
