Food is wonderful and service is fast! I love how they are open all the time, instead of just a few hours in the day. We visit once or twice a week and we are never disappointed. We have learnt to not come at peak hours and eat an hour before or after the peak timing. Waiting for an hour or longer just isn't something I can do and not complain about. I do REALLY REALLY want to insist that they have yummy food and very authentic too. Their ambiance is very decent for what Indian Fremont restaurants offer. Always happy to be served by Amit, Gurpeet, Ridham and Chann! I haven't seen Gurlal for while, but we truly used to enjoy meeting him too. Our weekly chaat cravings are fixed here in a happy, tasty way! Some of our favorites are paneer pakoda, both their thali platter, all chaat items esp. dahi papdi chaat, dahi batata sev poori. Service was really bad over the weekend and they made many people wait for their pickup orders. They were totally disorganized and kept taking orders even when they knew they are running behind on orders. Another big issue at this location is the horrible parking situation. We still love the food over there but they have to be more practical and improve service We prefer Sunnyvale location even though it is far. read more

I've ordered from here multiple times - the food is generally great, and I have two complaints: 1. I usually order via Uber Eats - this week, not only was the order late (it was ready for pickup by Uber an hour after i placed the order and the Uber driver took an unusually long time to deliver), but it was messed up as well. Out of the 3 dishes, one was completely wrong - I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala but got Veg curry (or maybe kurma not sure what it was supposed to) and that wasn't tasty. I also ordered the dry mixed veg - it just lacked taste. The gobi manchurian was good. 2. I get it delivered because take-out has nearly always been a waste of my time. They say it'll take X minutes and i'll at the stated time, only to wait another half an hour. So i gave up on take-out a few years ago. The only reason I posted this review is for the ownership to take note, because it is one of my favorite restaurants. read more

We did a catering for an event recently. The food was really good and the service was very prompt and there was someone always making sure the catering dishes were promptly refilled and make sure answer any questions guests had. Ambiance is great for family dining. The guy serving us was helpful with suggestions and infact, he arranged for a replacement when we told him that the Veg Biryani tasted like Veg Pulav. He quickly arranged for Veg Gobi Manchurian as a replacement. It was the best amongst all the other things that we ordered. Strawberry mojito was served with Chana aloo tikki. Aloo tikkis were quite small in size and we were disappointed with the quantity. We might visit this place again because of their hospitality and accommodating nature. read more

Consistent quality as always. Went there for dinner last night. We ordered Dahi papri chaat, thali and Chana bhatura. Dahi papri chaat was good but we have had better elsewhere. Thali was excellent and came with chaaas (salted lassi). Chana bhatura was great with large portions. Overall the quality was great. Service was good. The waiter checked on how we were doing from time to time. The restaurant was a little cramped with tables very close to each other. I guess due to the popularity they are maximizing occupancy. Chaat Bhavan, Fremont has maintained their quality since so many years and you don't feel bloated after the food. Mouthwatering snacks and same consistency is great about this location. This place is always busy and chole bhatura is frequently the most common item ordered along with variety of chaats, panipuri and some combo items. The service is okay and the amount of chutneys in chaats is very limited which makes a feeling of dry chaat. We love the food and is good once in a while place to go. read more

This is about my experience with Chaat Bhavan Catering: We specifically ordered veggie sliders (off their menu). They agreed to make it for us. I said no to vada pav since it has only potato and i wanted a mix veg cutlet instead. What they gave us was full size burgers -not mini sliders as requested. And the the cutlet was a chunk of potato. Exactly what I said i did not want. We also ordered corn bhel which was decent. I called them after that to complain, they said they will talk to their manager and get back. no response. I called again to follow up - this time they apologized saying they didnt take notes when I ordered. offered a gift card. No gift card in sight for a month and half. I called again and finally they did send it. I think customer service can be greatly improved. Also, catering quality does not match the restaurant quality. read more

My wife & I have been coming here for years. This is one of the best Indian restaurant in the San Francisco bay area and Silicon Valley. It has a variety of Indian cuisine including Punjabi, Gujarati & South Indian items - but not dosas. This is a great place for Punjabi/North Indian vegetarian food. The service is always quick & fast. Thalis are a good item to order - you get a little bit of everything & the items in the thali change regularly. I like the sag paneer & my wife likes the bhindi masala, along with paratha & methi paratha. The palak pakora is a good appetizer. For lighter fare, have the dahi papdi chaat & hara bhara bhel. For a light refreshing cool & healthy drink, have the chaas. The lassi is a thicker yogurt drink. There can be a short line during peak dining times. Parking can be tight with Starbucks in the same shopping center. Each month they also have specials. Note that they have opened other locations across the region as well. read more
